Hi! I have H815 EUR V20d, how can i root it? I can`t find anything specific
you can only do root with unlocked bootloader !!
Currently only if you unlock the bootloader, and flashing SuperSU with TWRP.

No, you must install TWRP in den Fastboot Mode.

I've read some threads on how to flash a custom recovery, but they say that you need to downgrade to KitKat before you can flash a recovery. Is there any other way around? Like, to just flash it, without downgrading. Link to a working guide will be just fine, I just couldn't find anything.
I guess I need an unlocked bootloader in order to flash a custom recovery. How do I check if my bootloader is unlocked, and if it isn't, how do I unlock it? I'm rooted already, does that mean it's unlocked?

Hi,
First you must be root with the @avicohh script : http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
Then use autorec from @bender_007 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/apk-flash-twrp-autorec-thanks-to-t3081396
With the D855 you have to downgrade to KitKat the aboot and laf, have bump boot and twrp recovery. Autorec do all these

I opted for autorec. It said that the flash was successful, but then the phone booted into the stock recovery asking for a factory reset. What do I do?

Ok you use I think you use the combination of buttons Power and VOL- and you have to answer Yes at the 2 questions.
Or use the bender_007 widget : https://www.dropbox.com/s/9gox6ga7n7...eboot.apk?dl=0
Or Holo rebbot for example : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scartech.holoreboot
Looking for the best available root for the lg g4 marshmallow international version, even a 1 click method
If you searched you'll realise there's no root for locked bootloader G4s on MM.

What? H815SEA and H815EU are both international variants but only H815EU can be unlocked.
The best method is to flash boot.img unpacked from the custom kernel like SimpleGX via fastboot that will allow you to further flash TWRP in which you'll flash full kernel package to avoid software problems and lastly SuperSU
the method i followed was-
1. boot into twrp recovery with adb command(you need to have the twrp.img file in PC and also copy it in internal memory of your phone with SU)
2. flash systemless root with twrp
3. reboot
4. install flashify
5.flash twrp.img from your phone.
6. done
but there aren't as much benefits of rooting as any other phone. viper4android doesn't work. spirit fm doesn't work. xposed doesn't work properly.(these 3 were the main reasons for which i rooted)

Assuming that you unlock the bootloader, root the phone and change the splash screen....
Reboot the phone.....
If Asus logo splash screen is black your bootloader is locked.
If Asus logo splash screen is white your bootloader is unlocked.

Why do you want to unlock the bootloader?
For the time being, there is no way to unlock the bootloader in MM. May be in the near future.
If you want to unlock the bootloader in MM, you need to temporarily downgrade the bootloader to Lollipop, unlock the bootloader and upgrade back to MM by the patched bootloader.

No.
To upgrade to MM from LP your firmware has to be at least 184.
You can use OTA or download the MM from ASUS site and install the MM in ADB environment with adb sideload command.
Do not upgrade MM via TWRP. MM install package does not compatible with TWRP. However, there is guide to modified the installation script in order to work with TWRP. The guide was written a year ago for Lollipop .
If your intention is to use custom rom in MM then you need an unlocked bootloader with custom recovery like TWRP.
In that case you need to unlock the bootloader in lollipop before you upgrade to MM. Like I said, there is no direct way to unlock bootloader in MM.
If your intention is to have rooted MM, then you do not need to unlock the bootloader.
You do not need to install the TWRP. You can use tethered TWRP to flash the super su zip file.

I answered your question in the other post.
This is for a friend, so I wanted to confirm the process to update to 7.1.1 with an unlocked bootloader on a brand new phone.
1. On 7.1, use depixel8 to unlock bootloader.
2. Take OTA to 7.1.1
3. Perform root on 7.1.1 using TWRP/SuperSU method
Is that all there is to it? Also, is there a method that doesn't require changing the recovery for root or is that it?
Thanks in advance

That's it. Remember that the unlock will wipe user data. You don't need permanent TWRP.
Copy TWRP RC1 to your fastboot folder. Then copy SU 2.79 SR2 to your phone. Then fastboot BOOT twrpfilename.img. That boots you to temp TWRP. Install su from TWRP. Reboot rooted and without TWRP.

Hi guys, ther's a way to root Htc 10 Oreo with SuperSu by Chainfire? I've tried the procedure for Nougat without results. I need SuperSu to use Sunshine and I've read Sunshine is not compatible with Magisk.
yes after Oreo update battery drain and heating has increased. Regret updating to Oreo.
Nevermind - found it in another thread.
Hi
I was checking to see if I can find the original recovery file anywhere in case I want to apply an OTA.
I can't seem to find out which version I have installed when having Oreo installed..
Does anybody have a copy or know where to find it. My htc10 version is cid: htc__34 mid: 2PS620000?

No OEM Unlock in developer options
Can't seem to unlock the bootloader for the life of me. Tried everything listed to no avail. Developer options does not have the OEM unlock option anywhere and i've done multiple factory resets and reset into recovery mode/reset, etc.

Better than bootloader unlock, just S-OFF without unlocking the bootloader. http://theroot.ninja
