I didn't change my bootloader...any consequences?? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Hi guys, I need help understanding something. I rooted my sister's Note 3 (T-Mobile) and I upgraded it from Stock Jellybean (TouchWiz 4.2.2) to CM 12.1 without changing the bootloader (to lollipop) . it hasn't affected the device; however, what are the consequences if I don't take action?

There are no consequences unless you happen to try and install a rom that the bootloader does not support.

Bootloader and CM questions..

Colleagues,
I have an SGH-i317 AT&T Galaxy Note II. It is rooted, has TWRP 2.8.1.0 and SuperSU 2.46 and TitaniumBackup all of which work just fine. I used Odin 3.10. I'm about to flash custom ROMSs CM10.2 and CM11. I have a couple things I don't quite understand before I flash. Hopefully someone can help. In the past, AT&T forced OTA upgrades so I'm at runnign rooted 4.4.2. (Specifics on my firmware are below.)
1. I know Android has broken a third party app's ability to save files to the external SIM. Is this problem inherent ONLY to vendor 4.4.2 builds like AT&T's, or does CM and other custom ROMS that are based upon 4.3 and 4.4 suffer from the same dumb limitation?
2. I've read online that the boot loader software became vendor-signed-package aware and is now a "locked" bootloader. AT&T forced my perfectly good 4.1.2 to go to 4.3 and consequently to 4.4.2. Is it not possible to actually replace that bootloader? If not, why not? Is that not possible at this time?
3. I noticed that for my SGHi317 that there is no such thing a an t0lteatt anymore for CM11 since they have merged their development branches. So will the latest t0lte work for SGH-i317? Do I need to do anything special other that flash it and the correct gapps to the phone?
Thanks for the help!

Haven't changed my bootloader

Hey guys, so Ive had a S4 (M919N MetroPCS variant) since it first came out. It originally had Jellybean (4.2.2) installed when I bought it. Long story short, I upgraded to AOSP KitKat 4.4.4 and then later upgraded to AOSP 6.0.1
But, I checked out my baseband on my phone and it says "M919NUVUAMF2". This indicates that I still have the Jellybean modem correct? And what are the consequences if I don't get the suited modem/bootloader for my device when upgrading unofficially. it hasn't affected my phone in any way and I've been going back and forth on ROMS from AOSP to TouchWiz varying from KitKat to Lollipop to Marshmallow. Is it essential for me to change my bootloader when flashing a new rom

Need Kernel, ROM, Android Advice/Schooling! <3

First let me say that I am brand spanking new to these forums. I've some experience rooting before, but it has been years... Last phone I had rooted was the HTC Evo 3D (I still have that cool sonfa) which was years ago. Been out of the loop as far as things go. I decided to mess around with my old Note 4 (it's really not that old, I love this beast), so here I am. I've unlocked the bootloader and confirmed that it's rooted via root checker, but it's still in the stock 5.0.1 firmware... BORING... So I want to install a custom ROM and debloat this thing... I do have some general questions.
1) Any links to safely upgrading my note4 from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 ? (not even sure if this is necessary, you'll see what I'm getting at later in this post)
2) Bootloader is unlocked, phone is rooted, that's it... Do I need to flash a new kernel before trying to flash a custom ROM? Again, are they version specific as to what android I'm using?
3) ROM's and Firmware... I see ROM's listed here that have 6.0.1 next to them, does that mean that I need Android 6.0.1 to install this ROM?
Example: [ROM] [6.0.1] [UNOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 13.0 [Jul 24, 2016]
That's basically all my Q's, thanks again for any help/guidance I can get here.

[Q] T705W wont boot any 5.1 ROMs

Hi folks,
Its been a long while since I've played around with Samsung devices (Galaxy S1, lol) and I'm running into some issues after picking up a used Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE (T705W Telus [unlocked]). So far I've got it updated to 5.0.2, rooted, and installed TWRP 3.0.2-0. I've got a nandroid of the stock rom that I've been using to fall back to as well as a copy of the Telus firmware if things go south. With my limited knowledge and reading/searching before creating this thread, I know that I'd likely need an updated firmware in order to get Marshmallow, but that doesn't appear to be available for the T705W.
The Issue: It appears I'm unable to flash any rom that isn't for 5.0.2. I would have thought that running 5.1 based ROMs would be fine, considering they're both LP. However I'm not having any luck... I've tried CM12, BlissPop v4, PAC 5.1 LP, and Ressurection Remix LP. All of which result in an infinite boot of the ROMs logo (I've waited ~30 mins for each one)
The Questions:
What obvious thing am I missing in order to allow me to flash 5.1 based roms?
Is there any firmware for the T705W that I can use to run 6+ based ROMs? (pipedream)
Am I stuck on 5.0.2?
Thanks for your time!

upgrading from jelly bean 4.2.2 questions

I have the Galaxy Note 8.0 GT N510 android 4.2.2 and it is rooted. I would like to upgrade and want to try going to kitkat and marshmallow. I plan on trying Clean Rom and Resurrection Remix. I know how to flash the roms and have TWRP. Clean ROM says I need to upgrade the bootloader to KitKat. Resurrection Remix does not mention anything about changing the bootloader.
1) how do you change the boot loader and where do I find the kitkat bootloader?
2) do I need to change the bootloader before flashing Resurrection Remix?
3) Will I still be able to write with the s-pen after upgrading?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated
