Thanks

[Q] AOSP ROMs: Camera and Built-In Flash Memory

Do any of the current AOSP ROMs support writing to the internal (8GB) flash memory from the camera? If not, could someone who's more knowledgeable about this tell me if it's even possible in the future?
Currently I know CM does. At least nightly 168 or something like that.

I flashed the latest CM, and I can't figure out how to make photos save to the internal flash. Help?

Im sorry i missread your question.sorry for any inconvenience. I don't think you can see through internal memory the phone app does not support it. At least in my version.

Ah. Oh well. I guess I'll just use the emmc for music and get a bigger SD card.

JB gallery not showing pics taken before flashing

The gallery only shows pics taken while on this rom (fnv) already. I had a couple other jb roms which did the same thing, AND pics taken while on those other jb roms also don't show in gallery.
I read something yesterday about pics now being stored in storage/sdcard0 instead of /sdcard. But I looked in sdcard0 and the new pics are there, but so are the old pics, which still aren't showing in the gallery! Anyone know what the deal is?

Download SDRescan from play store, run app, reboot. Then they should show.

How long should the scan take? After about 8 minutes I stopped it and rebooted and it didn't work. Tried several times.

Well I have about 4.5g used on my SD card, and it takes roughly 10 mins.
Also have you tried wiping cache & data for the gallery & re-booting?

its been scanning for 40 minutes now. seems like its stuck on storage/sdcard0. ill let it go a little while longer before I try deleting cache and data for the gallery. just to make sure...deleting the data for the gallery wont wipe all my pictures? thanks

Stock gallery app is really bad. Use QuickPic instead.

Many of us on Jellybean are having this problem.. Here is my thread about it.. I can't believe there isn't a solution yet.. If I flash back onto my old ICS nandroid, I can view all the photos; however whenever I flash a jellybean rom, they are gone.

but i like the swiping gestures in the jb gallery. oh well im sure a fix will come eventually.
I had to use stock gallery.
I've used Quickpic for years but when I jumped to JB, it didn't see half my pics all of a sudden so I'm back on stock for now. Works for me.

try formating sd card via Recovery(backup first),then put them back ,see what happen , then ,press the thank button~
have same problem here
the stock gallery app dont' show some of my old picture suddenly, even I try backup the pictures to desktop PC and copy them back to Nexus, it's useless. But on other Gallery app eg: QuickPic is working fine, all picture can show correctly
This has only happened to me on XenonHD. Because of that, I went back to BAMF

My issue with gallery is that it seems to ignore .nomedia files and still show directories that contain them.
But if I disable gallery now I lose camera.

recover deleted photos

I deleted photos from my gallery (sprint gnex). Is there a way to recover them?
Nope. The internal storage can't be mounted as UMS so normal "deleted file recovery" tools don't work.
From now on use Google+ instant upload or Dropbox instant upload so you don't have to worry about it anymore. You can have it only upload on WiFi to save your data plan also.

I was hoping there might be a way with with a rooted phone.

Well, the OP in this thread is working on the same thing: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30706842. Maybe you can help each other out.

You will have to root but it is absolutely possible:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34185439
You can recover deleted photos from android phone gallery, see this solution that helped me before: android photo recovery
It is easy to follow, so try it.
@slyd0997 I used the app DiskDigger and search /system and /userdata partition and i found all my deleted photo
Recovering deleted photos
I have accidentally deleted some photos on my Nexus 7(2013). I have been trying to attach the Nexus to the computer and make it appear as a disk and not a media device in order to scan and retrieve the photos.
I have turn developer mode on and switched usb debugging on. However the computer will not find the correct drivers for my Nexus (win 7).
SO i am stuck! All recovery software need it to appear as a disk otherwise they don't recognize it.
Today i have installed SKIPSOFT ANDROID TOOLKIT but it will not work! (i thought about getting the right drivers i need)
I keep getting the black screen for a second and it closes.
As far as i can tell My Avira doesn't block it.
I wanted to get help but i am not allowed to post questions on the original skipsoft thread.
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE??? :crying:

Photos gone after aicp install?

So I have recently installed the AICP 3.5 kitkat rom on my E980. Everything works great but none of my old photos are showing up in the gallery app. Anyone else experience this? Any way to get them to appear? I know that the storage was not wiped but I can't figure out why the old photos won't show up. All new picture taken are displayed correctly. Any help would be appreciated!
Sounds like to me you DID wipe the photos
