I have two new AFTs with the latest FW and yesterday navi x started showing cannot connect to server and no cached file exists on both.
On navi x home screen it shows as version 3.8.0 but I know I have installed the latest 3.8.2. When I click on the updates icon it says cannot open file. when I open navi-extreme portal it will only open most recently updated. Anyone know what's going on?
Hi alandmo,
It appears that we are both experiencing the same issue.
- When I open up Navi X it says 'Cannot connect to server & no cached file exists'.
- it says version 3.8.2 in the top right hand corner but on the home page it suggests 3.8.0 (updates), which when clicked upon receives a no file error.
- I can access the navi-xtreme portal & last 24 hours. However, 95% of movies/channels do not open.
I'm from the UK, my ISP is Virgin Media & I'm using TVMC via Amazon Fire TV.
Let's troubleshoot this together?
Strange thing is, on my laptop it works fine!

I'm having the same issue on AFTV (Rooted). Installed TVMC and Navix 3.8.3, unable to play anything in Navi X. Is there something going on with Navi X and AFTV currently?

Same here....I tried all the suggestions but still no success. I think the site is down...I wish there was a way to verify this.
You can, Navi-X gives you the URL for the different sources like github or googlecode or whatever.... You can navigate to those sites using a regular browser from your computer. No t sure if that would be helpful though, I tried one and the site is up and running., but still the error pops up in XBMC... Not sure what other code is hooked to the URLs, so waiting just like everyone else

Navi-X loaded onto Kodi onboard a Firestick does not have this. When you select settings you get the configure script and the home page is not there to be changed. Or, so far I haven't figured out how to get somewhere else to change it. The Navi X loaded onto my kodi on my PC DOES allow me to make that change, tho.
When in my launcher (lightning) if I get " item is not installed .search Google play, or pick an other app if I click on play store I got "continue to Amazon appstore? This app is trying to open a link with an external market that is not available bla bla.."
is there a Xposed module to prevent this behavior and go direct to Google play? without his warning poping up and preventing to go to Google play

I think that is the same redirection problem that I am also having, because when I was using my Fire Phone with FireOS 3.6.8, all APPs like AppGratis AppsZoom, Always opened a litle floating window, and always gave me the option to select between "Google-Play-Store" and "Amazon APP Store"... But now after the FireOS 4.6.1, I only have the option to select, on the floating window, only the Amazon APP Store.
I hope that there is an APP that could redirect and enable to select and open other APP Stores, not only the Amazon APP Store..
I already post a question in the forum about the same problem, but never got any reply:

This is being discussed in another thread that @ulises.rodriguez mentioned. So have a look there.
And also since this is a question it should be moved to the Q&A forum so if you don't mind I will ask a moderator to move it there. Your chances of getting an answer is better there anyway.

Hi Lohtse,
Sorry! We had copied and pasted an ellipsized link. It's fixed now. Thanks! We have seen some issues on Xiaomi devices. We are working on them.
Regarding Refresh button, if you press the Inbox button again, it should refresh the inbox if there has been any new messages. Please let us know if this is not
what happens on your device. Once again, thank you very much!

Hi Lohtse,
Xiaomi devices allow only the default SMS app to access the SMS. Can you go to the Settings and change it (i.e., change the setting so it will not block other apps from accessing the SMS)? After doing this, please run Drextee Messenger again. Please let us know if it works properly or not. Thank you very much!

Hi Lohtse,
Thank you very much for the information!
> how would you suggest I do this as I have it ALREADY set to Handcent!
If there is any option in the settings to block apps from accessing SMS, please toggle it to allow Drextee to access the SMS.
Otherwise, you can set Drextee Messenger as the default SMS app and open it on your watch
a few times to see if it crashes. Then, on your phone you can set the default SMS app back to Handcent.
Another test that you can do is the following,
send an email or Google Hangout to yourself. When you see the Drextee notification on your watch, open it and reply to it.
This will open Drextee Messenger on your watch. Please let us know if it crashes or not.
At this point, our best guess is that Drextee can't access the SMS inbox on your phone.
Once again thank you very much and sorry for the inconvenience!

Hi Lohtse,
Do you mean it works after rebooting your phone or your watch?
We had a lengthy discussion about this issue today. It is possible that your phone OS kills the service which was started by Drextee. When you open Drextee on your watch, it tries to restart the service on your phone, but somehow it fails. Can you kindly do the following experiment and tell us what happens?
- Before opening the app on your watch, tap on the Drextee icon on your phone to open it. Then, open the app on your watch and see if it crashes.
Once again sorry for the inconvenience!

if it was the phone then My partner would have the SAME issue with her Xiaomi NOTE 2 and Zenwatch.
As to working it will work fro a short period after I reboot phone then will Force Close.
Now your experiment. It FC's but after SEVERAL attempt it opens(PHONE APP).... open on watch and then have to wait several minutes and if am lucky it refreshs the inbox....

Hi Sapiora,
We do support Samsung Galaxy Note 4, but the app cannot be downloaded from Bulgaria. The reason is that we don't support Bulgarian alphabet at the moment, hence the restriction. Sorry for the inconvenience and sorry that Google Play Store error message is not clear. I will contact you once when we add support for Bulgarian alphabet.
Thank you very much. I will expect that.

seems deleting app cache and date then uninstalling and reinstalling corrects the issue
So Gmail started this thing (not sure when), where it uses a built in browser to handle all links and URL. I assume this is based off chrome, and that's fine if it worked.... BUT IT DONT!
Half the time I get this (see pics) when trying to open a link, and when it does manage to load a page, objects/links all over the page refuse to work. This sucks as I use my Gmail for ALOT of things.
I've tried long holding the links and selecting "open in browser" but I get this stupid built in thing again. Sometimes I can copy the link and open and paste in chrome, but sometime it will just copy the image instead of the link so I end up downloading a picture of the link I want to visit.
I've tried disabling the browser option in Google settings for Google search, but it seems to not affect gmail.
For example today I got an email saying a bill was due, it had a "click here to pay" link. I click on the link, but only get this continuous loading screen. I tried to "open in browser" same thing. So I tried coping URL and pasting in chrome, but only managed to download "xxxx/xx/x/payment.jpg" I wasn't able to actually visit the link hours later when I was near a PC.
So In short my question is.....
How can I disable Gmail's useless built in browser.
Sorry for repeating a bunch of things.

This is strange. I don't have the option to uncheck, but none of my links open with a built in browser. They all open with full fledged Chrome.

I wonder if this has to do with the default handling of links? As in, under Android Settings, Apps, App Settings, "Browser App".
So I have found out it's a chrome thing, not Gmail. Noticed this when I went to open a link in an app and I got the same window.
I cleared all data from chrome, went to Gmail and tried to open a link, and it presented me with full screen chrome, but after logging back in to chrome and reopening the link in gmail again it gave me that bull crap floating windows thing. It reminds me of paranoid androids halo feature.
Anyways, I can't find anything in chrome regarding this.

Chrome is the only browser type application I have installed, and my settings are the exact same as pictured. Sadly I'm still having the problem. I guess I'm going to swap out chrome for another application. Possibly yubrowser or some "Qualcomm optimized browser" to see if it persist.

Something interesting. I was browsing this thread and noticed this...

No it is not. I only use titanium to freeze and defrost my smart watch apps (pebble, martian notifier) so I don't have persistent notifications. Thanks for the help but this is getting irritating.
***************************************
Correction, it is!
However it's weird because I personally didn't freeze it, and it's not allowing me to defrost it. I can see the option "enable web view" in the play store, but when I select it nothing happens and it remains frozen/disabled.

OK. You want that to remain frozen. I'm pretty sure you need to change the Developer Options I posted earlier in order to actually defrost it, but it wouldn't help you in this situation anyway. I can find a few other threads of people having a similar issue, but with no fix listed.

Doesn't look like it. Well I'm going to keep this updated with any info i find. I may try rolling back chrome a few versions.
It seems I'm also no longer able to open play store links through the play store either, This stupid browser implementation takes it over without asking a thing. No defualts are set, this is taking away some real functionality from my device.

I installed Google play on my daughter's kf and now I'm trying to set up my Google family link. The problem is that I can't figure out how to add her Google account to the kid, since she is under 13. Her child account is limited to what apps she can use, and all the apps I can think of where I might be able to add her (like Gmail), she doesn't have the permission to add herself.
Is there any way to add a Google child (under 13) user account?

Just some school & game apps, youtube, etc. I want it mainly so I can better control what they see on youtube...
you have to create the account from the parent's Family Link app on your phone.
Were you able to figure this out? I'm having the same problems. At first it wouldn't install on the Kindle Fire because it was connecting to her father's g-mail account so I reset to factory settings. Now it's saying I can't install using her gmail address and password.
We're you able to figure this out? I am stuck because I believe it needs the Google settings app rather than the fire version. I am getting the error "this profile manager is required for kids under 13". Rather annoyed by every aspect of the fire tablet and this seems to be the final straw.
Curious to know
I ma curious to know if you ever figured this out? I just jumped down the rabbit hole of the Google Family Link account for my twins but can't seem to figure out how to use it with the Kindles.... Any help you can provide would be so appreciated.

I'm working on this one as well. Keep getting stuck in a loop, I try to log in my sons account, it wants to install Family Link Manager, installed Family Link apk, it leads into the same thing, saying it needs to install itself..I'm just looking to do a custom rom at this point I guess. Should probably just let him use the Freeplay thing from Amazon but paying for the whole damn Google Play Premium One whatever family plan...
I have been playing with this and got a little farther. I have an old SGS5 and got my kid set up there. Then I extracted the Family Link Manager APK (different than the Family Link APK).
Then:
Installed the four APKs needed to install Google Play Store: https://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/general/how-to-install-google-play-store-fire-t3486603
Installed the Family Link Manager APK. I posted it here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1eVmTXa1KqvZ_MV9tmYaZYYsd-2E1351C
Launched Google Play Store
Signed in as my child
It asks which parent is setting up the device. I choose myself.
Got a warning about Android 5 and not be able to control an apps permissions after approving.
Then, a message that Family Link Manager needs to be installed. I already installed it at this point.
Checking Info...
It asks for a name for the Device
Asks which installed apps should be blocked
Then I get a screen that says, "Next, you'll activate Family Link Manager, which helps parents..."
After clicking next, I get a screen that says, "This profile manager is required for Google Accounts managed with Family Link." The only option is to click, "GOT IT." I then end up on the previous, "Next, you'll activate..." screen. If I click NEXT there, I see the same, "This profile manager is required..." screen. The process is now stuck in this loop. Does anyone have any idea what may be preventing the process from accessing the profile manager? Is it talking about the default Android profile manager? Has Amazon replaced that with their own?
One other thing: I cannot install the Family Link APK. It looks like it is going to, but then says "App not installed". Does anyone know if this is my whole problem? I have four kids, each with a Fire tablet. I am going to try this process on another one and see if I get closer.
Found a workaround for anyone interested. Create a new gmail account with a date of birth older than 13 (if in the UK, may need to be older for other countries). Invite this new account to join your 'family'. Install Google Play on the Kindle Fire (which can be done without root), install Google Play Music, add the new account to the Music app and job done! [EDIT just noticed the post above has links for installing the Play services]
Only downside I've found is that if more than 1 child then they are 'sharing' the account and any playlists they create are also shared.
This is what I've done for now as well, just was hoping to take advantage of the schmancy new parental controls and such via the family link thing. Hope it works for Chromebooks now that they are the new Android tablets

Then I get a screen that says, "Next, you'll activate Family Link Manager, which helps parents..."

so close...
i found a few useful nuggets with `adb logcat` . Unfortunately, they exited my scroll back buffer before i could write them down.
the initial loop (downloading the app)
it doesn't have permission to write to storage; looks like its downloading and discarding
... it should be like "[email protected]%# where'd my download go?"
thanks for the apk - sideloading gets us moving on
the next loop (activate manager) ... more permission issues
this time like "denied granting because this is not a system app".
i thought its trying to become a device admin -- so i manually enabled it in the settings > device admin ... no change
would someone (smarter than i) please point out which permissions & how to grant them, or tell me if i'm way off base ? alternately, with root - we can make this a system app, so it is not blocked from what it needs ?
FWIW: i also managed to use my sons account for ~7min ... opened the store - accepted T&Cs -- updated installed apps, grabbed a few from the family library & request a few new apps ... then i got a notification (on parent and child devices) "the account was removed because setup was incomplete"
I have been trying to get this working as well. From the looks of it, it is down to a missing settings page. I guess we could sideload the settings.apk from a AOSP device and see if that gives us access to the required pages to enable access for the app? Would that work?

I tried installing a settings.apk from apk-mirror but the name conflict with the one already installed
Stuck at the same place
Hi, did you managed to figure this out because I'm stuck at the same place as you!

So I went through the process of installing on a android VM, and it looks like this might be down to profiles. It looks like there are multiple profiles on the device after setup.
It seems to work until some timeout triggers and the account gets removed, but I'm able to install apps and have the approval come through to my device.
I haven't been able to break out of the loop. If I manually installed Family Link then it would prompt for which account to add. Selecting the child's account would stay in the loop. Adding my own would break out of it and I'd be able to access to Play Store but only as myself. The top left selector allowed my to choose the child account but would just put me back into the loop. Eventually I cleared away the Family Link stuff in the hope that a fresh attempt would work but once I was the sole account in the Play Store, I found it impossible to break out of that situation, even after deleting data from the various Google apps. I reckon removing either the Android user or the Google account record from the "Users & accounts" section in Settings would allow me to proceed but bloody FireOS hides this in favour of their own hobbled multi-user stuff.
I have made a discovery though. I found that the Humble Bundle app is also broken and despite the problem being very different, I believe the cause is the same as you get the exact same Download Provider permissions error in logcat. This post explains that it is down to an incompatible difference in FireOS compared to stock. I tried to replace DownloadProvider and DownloadProviderUi with APKs from LineageOS 12.1 but got INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE. I then "uninstalled" the existing apps using the same trick that the debloater does but then I got into a real mess as the earlier error remained and I wasn't able to restore the old apps either, even with the APKs, as they have separate ODEX files. The app isn't even really uninstalled as it is a system app and I do not have root but it seems sufficiently broken that I will have to wipe and start again. I still wonder if this is the right direction for solving this problem though. Any bright ideas?
