I know on g3 this was considered hard brick had to use wilcrack to reflash bootloader partitions cause the primary gtp is now corrupted for what ever reason g2 and g3 are unbrickable beacause of this i do know u need the tot of the firmware u bricked on have to extract 4 or 5 partitions from said tot. Then flash them to ure phone
Search for g3 hard brick and it can give u a idea just ddont know how compatible it is yet ive done it on g2 and g3 im new to g4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
Ok but on willcracket there was 2nd loader.hex file which was only for msm8974 and 8974AC and our g4 is msm8992 and msm8994
So we badly need msm8992.hex file and rawprogram.xml
And as I see there is some mbn files also sbl1.mbn,sbl1 signed.mbn and more
We need those files for msm8992 please can anyone give us those files so we try it

Sorry to be an annoyance to make another post about my hard bricked LG D851. I was wondering if there is the solution similar to the LG G2 that can unbrick my phone. Is your phone in Qualcomm QHSUSB__BULK mode?
If yes I recently got this problem on my D855 after getting an OTA update, it hardbricked, it will need to be boot repaired, the owner of the board diagnostics software is in the thread you got your software from, he restricted his software so that it will give the said error.
He charges 50 USD for repairing boot, I returned my phone to the seller, you should try the software in offline mode, i-e disconnect from the internet before launching the application, if it works then tell us, if not then probably the best option will be to ask the owner of this software for access.

So I have bricked my phone again and after research and reading how someone fixed it I have tried myself. I downloaded a dump .img and flashed it to my SD card with Win32DiskImager and now the phone will boot up the LG screen and go to download mode but it boot loops with the 1006 Secure booting error. IF we can figure out how to get around this we can stay in download mode long enough to flash a new firmware.
I forgot to add while the SD card is in place the phone is not detected by windows at all and when SD card is removed it is instantly QD Loader 9008 with no screen or signs of life.

Hi,
Could you give us information which dump img file to download ? I want to see life sign from my g4 bricked device too !

I have flashed the LS991 ZV6 dump. I really need a US991 dump. I also need a tool to customize the sd card partion and flash individual files to each sector. When I flash the ZV6 dump it creates a file system with a bunch of partitions. There is a video for someone doing this with emmc pro for a g2/g3. The method is for certain the same way, but we don't need special hardware...this G4 brick can be fixed with files on a SD card and a rom flash from lgup/lg flash tool

Thanks for showing there may be hope. I am flashing what I think is the US991 dump to an sdcard using linux dd and will see if I can get life back into it. I am really hoping something works...hate to be out my money =\ After reading all the horror stories about this phone, wishing I would of stuck with Samsung.
Any information you can provide about the actual process you used that would be great.
US991 or LS991 ? Big difference! I am working with the LS991. I found another tool for eMMC file system and it is able to read all partition tables. I have flashed some files from US991 KDZ and made it change from only showing error 1006 to having "OFFICIAL" underneath it. Phone still boot loops, but there is progress. I have to try a combination of all kinds of flashing files and do it one by one because if certain ones are flashed the phone goes back to not booting and only qualcomm 9008
When I do send my phone back to LG I am going to figure out if I can only flash the LS991 LAF & Recovery so we have access to the DD commands in download mode...then root can be possible. Another theory I will test when I get my phone working again. I have warranty until December and 90 days after each repair...lol
**I should clarify...my phone is a US991LD which is the unbranded "unlocked" version...identical to the US991 from US Cellular. ** The dump that I am working with is from the LS991. The fact that we don't have the people with rooted phones posting there dumps makes this difficult...not everyone has a JTAG device.
I went and bought a USB flasher to use on my PC instead of laptop and do my business faster. After doing some magic I have the phone detected in windows now as LGE Android NET USB SERIAL PORT... I really need a full dump from the US991.

Hi,
I got a G4 H815 from a friend. He tried to install a custom firmware and killed the G4.
I see the G4 in the device manager as a qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008, but nothing more.
With the LGFlash Tool: It will transfer the files, but after 8 seconds it fails caus of missing download mode.
With LGUP, after I changed the driver to an LG USB COM Port, it connected but at Model: Unknown model. And stopped
I think, I have to install first a bootloader on the device, but how?
Someone can help pls?

1) Did you put your phone in download mode before using LGUP?
2) You can install custom recovery using adb commands if your bootloader is unlocked.

The problem is: It´s dead!
no bootloader, no download mode, no recovery...
The phone is clean.
That´s the big issue.
There is one solution I read with a dump/bin file here at xda...
But I don´t know if it is the right file for the 815, it says yes but...
My plan is, to dump a file via SD-Card to activate the download mode. But I need someone who can say to me " Thats the way, and these are the files you need to"

1)What do you mean permanently locked...carrier/sim, mcafee security, something else? If it's carrier you can order a sim unlock code off of ebay for @$4.00 us, or use any other sim unlock services out there.
2)If you changed a d851 to a d850 using board diag and manually loading the partitions - then why not extract a d851 tot and do the same thing?

1) I don't know of a free way to get an unlock code, so if you can't order one you're probably stuck. Pay a friend who can order one for you?
2) If we're on the same page here and you previously used the board diag tool then that should work again. Hard brick usually shows up in your device manager as qualcomm 9008 instead of an lg device, so to get back to that condition you would have to open the phone up and short a pin -
follow the guide in the link I posted before and you should be good to go. I don't have links for any d851 tot files though...sorry, not my variant.

Unfortunately...I think so. If you were to try and use the lg flash tool and try and tot a d851 file into a d850 it'll probably throw some errors - model check, for ex - and won't flash. You can try and see for yourself if you'd like...here's a link for a couple tools; the 1st is kdz method, second is tot: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
To brick it again follow guide I linked( https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-fix-hard-brick-recovery-guide-t3132359), short that 2nd jtag pin in the pic for @5 seconds, plug in the usb, and it should go to qualcomm 9008. You already know how to do the rest as far as loading partitions and such, and if you don't the guide will tell you what to do.
Good luck :good:

Yeah....and?
Re-read your previous post where you asked if you'll have to brick it again.
I said yes, and gave you a link on how to do it. Did you read the link? My guess would be no, since the 1st 4 steps tell you how to brick it and enter qualcomm9008 mode.

It's cool. Yes the guide is for already bricked phones, but what I was trying to say is since you have a functional phone rt now you're gonna have to brick it, and by brick it I mean qualcomm9008 mode, and that's what the 1st part of the guide shows you how to do by shorting out the pin. Once you get to Qualcomm mode you can then use the board diag tool and load your partitions that you extracted from the tot and hopefully get back to your original d851 phone and get back up and running. Does that make more sense?
Again...good luck

I hard bricked it again and then extracted another D851 tot and then loaded all the necessary partitions but the phone still on qload mode i copied the sbl1.mbm of the D850 and tried them with D851 partitions the phone revived but not in download mode.
I managed tp recover all partitions and the phone is on dowloading mode but still detected as d850 so i have the dll cross error everytime i try to flash a rom even with using the custon dll file.
