Hello,
Today i rooted my Galaxy grand with CWM using Odin and intalled SuperSu through recovery mode. Then i entered recovery mode again to install Xperia Z rom for Galaxy Grand , which i had placed in my external sd card. When i installed it using all the steps(Wipe data, cache etc etc) and reeboted my device, it got stuck on the boot screen with Samsung Galaxy grand logo running in loop for several time. Atlast i removed my battery and using the download mode again installed the 4.2.2 update with Odin.
Can u please tell me what went wrong while installing the rom.

Maybe your source file is corrupted? In CWM, after installing the ROM, does it appears installation success or update success any similar message?
And suggest you wipe data & cache after installing the ROM, not before. Wipe Dalvik cache too.

Ik think that the CWM version is to old.
Also if you want to go to lollipop later then you can't do this with CWM 6.0.2.
Download a new CWM with an minimum version 6.4.5 or TWRP 2.8.6.0.
Never tried to install the older version roms with TWRP but with CWM I was able to install all.
Installing Rom
Sir i want to install xperia z rom please help me!!

I put on CyanogenMod 11.0 for the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 ( GT-I8160 ) and the rom installed like a charm.
The gapps provided with that is abording....what is going wrong and what can I do to fix it?
I even tried to get the stock rom I8160XXNB1 with odin on and it all succeed but its stuck on boot with that.
I need some help to get this fixed
for gapps try the micro modular package, dont use full or mini package its too big for our system partition
for bootloop after flashing via odin, factory reset on recovery
Hi i have a galaxy s4 mini i9190 stuck in samsung logo i installed before it stuck cwm recovery last version. My problem: i don't have install zip.... option there is "nope" instead of install zip i choose nope and nothing happened. thanks!
Hi. I have problem with TWRP installation on Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 (GT-P5210, soft: SAMSUNG Official). I tried to install TWRP, but when I flash it with Odin, I have stock recovery. I found somewhere that auto-reboot should be unchecked, so I tried once again and... still the same problem.
1. Should I root my tablet before install TWRP?
2. How I can solve this?

Sorry, for my English.
Hi Guys,
This is my first time working with a custom ROM. I have an old S3 which sucks due to Samsung bloatware. So, I wanted to play and install Cyanogenmod on it.
I have a Rogers Samsung Galaxy S3 (Canada) and the model is SGH-I747M. I was following https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_d2att to install the recovery image & Release build (https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=d2att&type=snapshot). I am using a Mac.
Steps I followed:
Installed Heimdall Suite on the Mac
Downloaded CM12 build & Google App and transferred it over to my phone's internal storage
Restared in download mode
Transferred recovery image
Restarted in recovery mode
Wiped/Factory settings
Apply Update -> cmbuild.zip file
It tried to install and then gave me a "Install Failed" error. I was then able to re-boot normally and get into the phone.
Any ideas, suggestions on what did I miss and what can I do? Is it ok to install the CM12 release build for my S3? Or do I need to go with CM11 or lower?
Thanks.
Flash twrp via heimdall to the s3. After flashing, boot into twrp and flash cm12.1 and gapps.

Ok, so I tried what you suggested. I am still getting Install failed error.
The error says:
Can't install this package on top of incompatible data. Please try another package or run a factory reset.
E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/d2att.zip'
UPDATE:
Fixed the problem by Formatting through TWRP and flashing CM12 & GApps again. Worked . Thanks for the help.
Glad you succeeded!
