Adoptable storage and apk package installer don't play well together. - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So i did format my SD card as an internal storage for 2 reasons: * i want to mange my SD card photos using Google photos (currently every time it forces me to open the built-in gallery just to delete a photo)
* Google Camera app can't save photos to SD card (i like HTC camera, but every time i tap to view my shot it lags for a second)
Using adoptable storage fixed both problems, but it introduce new ones. some apps by default install a part of the apk on the SD card.

Like super hexagon and threes.
Now i just can't install those using an APK file,, it just says "App not installed" so i did go to Google Play and install both of through Google Play, and that went fine!. but i toke 4 hours!! because downloading from Google Play is just a nightmare in my country. i Have to use my backed-up APKs.
Any idea?

[ROOT][Move Games Data+OBB+Gameloft To SD]

for moving OBB and Games data your device must be ROOTED,,
after rooting do :
1- download GL to SD from attachment
2- install on android device and run it
3- checked remember access for superuser always
4- go to settings tab
{

}
5- do like this setting
now go to external sd card and create these folders :
external_sd/OBB ---> for obb data
external_sd/Data ---> for game data
external_sd/gameloft/games ---> for game loft games
folder mount is better than ....gl to sd.....
earlier i used to use gl to sd but i found issues....with nfs most wanted ....it used to hang....nd now with folder mount....i have no issues... its best for grand.......

[Q] PACMan Rom SD Card Problem

Hi Folks,
I've just installed pac_t0lte-nightly-20130918.zip and I'm seeing some strange behaviour.
The ROM itself is great - I love it! However, I've noticed that it appears to be sulking a bit with my SD Card. (64GB SAN Disk)
I don't believe that there is anything wrong with the SD Card itself, but rather some kind of mounting problem, as I can read, browse and view pictures & video from it on /storage/sdcard1.
However, when looking in the settings things are a little bizarre. I've attempted to attach some screenshots below, but suffice to say, the size appears to be reported correctly in the Storage section, but the '/sd-ext (EXT)' is 'Unavailable'.
Anyone any ideas?

I have the exact same issue, I have no idea how to fix it, I've changed cards, I've changed the Rom, I've tried a fix on the rw permissions. Nothing changed. I've got a backup app that won't let me restore because it can't find it.

Auto Storing Pics On Ext SD Card?

Can the stock G4 camera be set up to automatically save photos and videos to the ext SD card instead of internal memory? I don't see that as an option in the camera app but would love to keep those heavy files on my 128gb card.

Easy. Open camera app, go to settings (cog in top left), underneath the cog there will either be an icon for a phone or an SD card. Chose which one you would like it to store the pictures. Done.
Yeah that's how you do it like the post above. For me it did it automatically when I inserted and booted up phone. Told me if I wanted to switch to sdcard saving or keep it at internal storage.
1. Insert MicroSD card
2. Open Camera app
3. Select "Yes":

I've noticed I cannot delete SD card photos from Google's "Photos" app, since it would be a 3rd party editing the SD card. Any workaround?

System recognizes SD-card but will not install apps on it

I just installed Beanstalk Release 6 on my HTC Desire and partitioned the SD-card with the mentioned partition guide. Everything works as it should except that I am not able to install apps on the SD-card.
For some reason the SD-card is not recognized by some parts of the system. In a file manager and under Device -> Storage the card is there just fine..

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
...but under Device -> Partition info and under Manage apps the card is either reported as not available or simply not there:
This somehow means that I am able to put content on the SD-card but I am not able to install apps on it. I have tried re-partitioning with both the size and file system the guide proposes and with other sizes and systems but with no luck. Anyone know how to fix this so I can install apps on the SD-card?
Thank you
Solved by installing release 7. This thread can be closed.

Someone with Ext SDCard as internal memory? (adoptable storage)

I was setting the external SDCard (16GB) as expandable internal memory. But have noticed that even if I manually set the default installation path for any app (that allows it), to internal memory, not external one, all apps (new and updates) were installing on the external sd card.
Where are them installed on yours?
Notes:
- Device: K10 (k420n) + Rooted
- LineageOS 14.1 (2018/03/09)
- Set the default installation path via root command (pm set-install-location 1)
- I will use the ext sd card to only store user data and so on (/sdcard/*), not to install apps
- I also increased the Cache size up to 512KB, so I gain 12MB of reading speed
Here you have a screenshot of the new memory state:
