Bootloader problems on Tate (Fastboot screen) - Kindle Fire 2 Q&A, Help and Troubleshooting

Tried to update the Kindle 7" Tate to MM tonight.
Flashed the ROM no problem but when it came to GAPPs philz recovery was blocking it for some reason.
No problem i thought i'll downgrade the ROM and use flashify to flash the TWRP bootloader.
Now i'm stuck on Fastboot splash screen whenever i turn on, tried the quick pull reboot but because i've messed the bootloader that was pretty unhopeful.
Worse problem is that i cant seem to find my fastboot cable.
Ive reinstalled minimal adb and fastboot and ive got the boot img ready to flash but i cant seem to get the device to be recognised with fastboot -i9 0x1949 getvar
Wish i'd just left the stupid device on lollipop now.
Any advice would be gratefully recieved.
p.s. As i hunt for my fastboot cable - am i looking for a cable with a micro usb or mini usb connector on? If im looking at the ports - which connector does it go in?
:crying:

[Q] Trying to restore One X to Stock

I've been running Cyanogenmod 9 for a couple of months, but decided to restore to stock so I can try out ICS and the new version of sense. I tried this a while ago but got stuck when when phone wasn't recognised via USB when connected to my laptop. Fastboot would change to Fastboot USB when plugged in, but the phone wasn't picked up. However, on this occasion I was able to restore Cyanogenmod without problems.
I tried this again yesterday with the same result regarding the USB connection, but when I restored Cyanogenmod it now just hangs on the boot screen and won't go further. Prior to this, when I ran the restore function in Clockworkmod, the phone would hang on the HTC splash screen with the beats audio logo on it. I did manage to get the phone to boot into recovery, but rather than the usual menu option I had a message something like "checking SD card..." and then nothing.
I am not sure where to go from here. The only thing I am wondering is if I tried to do this with the battery being too low, and the installation has failed because of this. I do want to go back to the stock OS, but not sure how to go about resolving the USB issue.
UPDATE
Partially solved the problem, in that I've managed to reinstall the cyanogenmod. Still stuck with lack of USB connectivity though.
Wrong section.....
Do you have the Fastboot files all in the same folder and do you have the HTC Sync drivers installed? You need that set up correctly to get a fastboot USB connection.
My suggestion is to simply "fastboot oem lock"
Then flash corresponding RUU to your current HBOOT. You can find out which RUU you need by typing "fastboot getvar version-main"

One X Won't Turn On

Hey guys, I was flashing a rom on my One x but for some reason it got stuck in a bootloop. After that, I tried restoring to my earlier rom using CWM but I forgot to flash the boot.img from cmd first so it didn't work. After that I tried restarting my phone but it wouldn't turn on after turning off. When I plug in my charger the red light comes up but I can't turn it on. I left it to charge for a few hours but it still won't turn on, the only sign of it working is that it vibrates when I attempt to turn it on. I also tried connecting it to my pc and it senses it but I get no results when I type adb devices in cmd. Can someone please help me with this issue? Thanks!
What can you see in windows device management? Does
Code:
fastboot devices
give you any info?
No, nothing, but when I connect to pc it says installing device software
Oh yeah, I also forgot to mention that it did turn on before and I got into the bootloader but then it turned off again
I mean the device management in the control panel. It should be there if it says something about drivers.
It says MTP USB Device
What ROM are you on?
I was attempting to flash Blade rom when it got stuck in bootloop
MTP should be only available when the phone is booted. I really don't know what is the problem here, sorry.
Ok, Thanks anyway
I just restarted my pc and after running cmd and entering adb devices I get: SH24KW107359 recovery. But the phone is still off. Any ideas?
If the phone vibrates and your computer sees it like MTP that it might be a hardware failure. Contact HTC for further assistance, or try search the forum. I am sure many faced the same problem, and some got it working finally.
I'm no longer getting MTP, it now says E:\
Wait, were you on android 4.0.4 just before you tried flashing Blade?

No, I was not. At least I don't think so. It's my sisters phone so I'm not sure. Why?
I believe that the phone is switched on, but the screen remains off. Try this:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
I tried turning it on and it turns on then it shows the HTC logo, then when I try to get into CMW it shows a dark screen but u can tell its on.
Ok, if your in cwm, from a cmd prompt run:
adb reboot bootloader
That should put you in the bootloader.
From there use fastboot to flash the kernel to boot as you should have done earlier.
When your done just:
fastboot reboot
-SLS-
When I type fastboot devices in cmd i get: SH24KW107359 fastboot. Can I flash a boot.img by using fastboot flash boot boot.img?
Yes, and also reflash cwm. Dl from clockworkmod site and flash using:
fastboot flash recovery nameofthefile.zip
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app

kindle fire stuck on boot animation and cant get recovery or adb etc...

tried searching for two days now and cant get anywhere. flashed hellfire latest after installing twrp but after a reboot it just stays on animation screen. i cant get computer to detect in device manager or adb to find device any longer either from animation screen or from fastbootscreen with factory cable or regular data cable. seriously stuck!!!!
any ideas on how to get adb and device manager to recognize this device or am i just screwed now?? have tried everything i could find in searching and utility isnt working any longer. i think that if i cant get windows to see it in device manager again i can flash from fastboot but that hasnt been able to happen since rom flash
is there any other way to get into recovery other than adb? from boot it goes into rom loading but no further than animation screen and from fastboot i cant get computer to recognize the device so adb doesnt detect either. thanks

When you used Fireflash, did you get TWRP and second bootloader installed? If you did, power your device off, then power back on. When you see the gold Kindle Fire logo, hold the volume up button until the logo turns blue, keep holding for 3 more seconds, then release and you should boot into TWRP. From there should be able to connect to computer and transfer files using ADB if needed.
I belive i did not. Everytime i do your method it just show the screen on but just black.
I even have a factory cable to fastboot it and it also dosent work /:
USB Drivers
You just need to change the drivers on windows to get it detected properly and access to fastboot
I posted a quick how to here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59900685&postcount=4
Install Android SDK, if you have not already.
Put the kindle in fastboot mode.
Download The Twrp files for kindle fire hd.
Flash The Files
Reboot Into Recovery
Try to see if you can boot into your os
If not, use adb to push a rom into your kindle.
Flash it
You should be good.

Flash factory image without pc

Hello,
I have this strange issue that occurred after I flashed one of the many custom roms floating around.
The USB connection menu in the phone is greyed out and technically I cannot transfer anything over the cable from a computer and with this obviously I cannot use any adb command so I can flash the stock.
The phone is only charging when being plugged in nothing else
Prior to be flashing the rom I have booted TWRP tethered so I could flash it but now since my usb settings are greyed out I cannot boot TWRP anymore nor I can boot from the phone as I didn't make TWRP permanent.
Is there any way at this point that I can flash TWRP, any rom or even stock image considering that I cannot see the phone over the USB ?
Appreciate any input
...why don't you just reboot into bootloader and boot twrp again and this time flash it in recovery? Are you saying you no longer have a usb connection to your phone, as in it's broken?
