OK if I change my present cid vodap001 to an international one will I get the update without waiting for vodaphone to roll it out as my handset is unlocked and on Giff gaff but it appears that I still have to wait to get updates from Vodafone and will I have to install all Vodafone's bloatware if I get Voda's update and if I can change my cid to achieve this does anyone know what cid I should change it to thanks in advance
SuperCID (11111111) (S-Off NEEDED!) first, then flash international RUU when done change CID HTC__001
back your phone up RUU will wipe clean

Hello good, I have a HOX with supercid, what is best for the OTA to get JB? update the CID or rooting and put the OTA manually and that steps can be taken manually or consult.
Greetings.
Is it based on your CID or MID or is it something else? im still 100% stock and unrooted (but sunhine unlocked and soff and supercid 11111111- stock recovery) my original cid was ORANG001 i was wondering what makes the ota updates be pushed to the phone? for e.g if it is cid and i change my cid to match another carrier will i recieve that carriers ota updates? thanks
They go out in batches, usually unbranded handsets first and then branded devices (depending on how quick the carrier OK the updates). For example, I have an unbranded M8, CID HTC__001, software build 1.54.401.10 (the latest). You have an Orange/EE branded handset, hence the CID ORANG001. I'll get updates before you as my phone gets updates directly from HTC whereas you have to wait for Orange/EE to approve the update and add their little bits and bobs to it
Now, as you're S-OFF, you could convert your phone to 100% stock unbranded like mine and be done of the Orange/EE gumpf BUT you'll need your backups in case of warranty

Yes, but you still have the stock Orange software so you're still waiting on them to push the update...if you want the stock, unbranded ROM then you can follow the guide in my signature and you'll end up with a 100% stock ROM

I have bought a brand new HTC ONE M8 AT&T, i wanted to remove ATT branding, so unlocked bootloader, did the s-off using sunshine and installed the stock rom 4.4.4 3.28.401.9_odexed
Now i'm no more able to turn on Wifi, it's greyed out
Could you please help on this
PS : I'm not US based
Change MID/CID to International WWE.
CID: fastboot oem writecid HTC__001
MID: [how to] change your MID without an eng bootloader Select HTC Europe MID.
AT&T MID = 0P6B12000(Same as Developer Edition) , WWE International MID = 0P6B10000.
If you want to convert your device to another you must make sure to have all the things checked and sorted, just restoring a x.xx.401.x won't "convert" it, it just makes it a "custom ROM". AT&T is slow in their updates so your firmware is probably also outdated like hell.

Try flashing the firmware again and restoring a backup for the device.
Or run the RUU: HTC One M8 European Signed RUU 0P6BIMG.zip
hi, my phone was a taiwan made which has 1.32.709.6 firmware then i converted it to developer edition by both firmware, cid and mid change.
now i'll send it to warranty so i want to go back to completely stock.
i'll flash 1.32.709.6 ruu but i don't know what was my cid and mid. can anyone tell me the cid and mid of taiwan version 1.32.709.6?
thanks a a lot
Hello dear friends,
I bought a HTC One M8 from China. The phone is originally made for USA T-Mobile but it comes with a changed RUU with Android 5.0.1 which can not be updated. The MID is 0P6B13000 and CID is changed to supercid already (111111111). I would like to install on it a European RUU (latest version) originaly made for MID 0P6B10000. I don't know if there is any actual difference between 0P6B10000 and 0P6B13000 or if their RUUs can be exchanged with one another. Can I already download a European RUU and directly install it? Should I not do it? Should I change MID and CID as those of an European version? Or should I restore the factory CID and leave the MID as it already is? I have also read that before installing a last version RUU I have to update the firmware, is that correct? If anyone with good experience can give me good advice and if possible usefull links of tutorials and downloads I would much appreciate it.
Thank you in all advance!

To flash an RUU, you need to pass CID check and MID check. SuperCID means you will pass any CID check. But you still need to pass the MID check. That means, if you want to flash the Euro RUU, you need to change the MID to 0P6B10000.
Guide on changing the MID is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708581

That is a slightly complicated question. Euro version is probably desirable for most folks, since it removed the T-Mobile branding (exception might be if you are actually using T-Mob US as your carrier, and want WiFi calling).
The other issue would be, what bands does your carrier use, and which version supports those bands (as flashing the RUU will change band support). Again, for many folks Euro RUU is probably better. But it depends on you carrier (what bands they use for 3G and LTE).

If you want to flash an RUU to update from LP to MM, then yes that is true that you need to flash the MM firmware before the MM RUU. Otherwise, the RUU will fail with Error 155.
Don't you have to s-on before using the RUU also?
You also don't need to change your mid, just change it in the android-info.txt unless you plan to use international roms to get the full benefits (some Roms setup based on mid)
