HTC Desire 816n Stock Recovery - Desire 816 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
I would like to get from somewhere stock ROM for HTC Desire 816 single sim (816n) for europe (A5_UL?). I found few official files (1,08 GB - 1,23 GB)
0P9CIMG_A5_UL_K44_DESIRE_SENSE60_HTC_Europe_1.23.401.1_Radio_1.101.1102.16.10_2_10.18.4149.00L_release_366906_signed_2_4.zip

but during flashing phone with it, it says "Device halted due to large image update file." So I guess I have to find smaller file? Are there any ROMs for Kitkat, that atually you can update to the stock Lollipop? Thanks!

Which Android version is installed on your phone? If you upgraded to lollipop, you can't flash kitkat, hboot won't allow you to flash an older Android version, if you're not s-off.
I got the same error trying to flash kitkat, when lollipop upgrade bricked my phone.
If you're on lollipop or tried to flash lollipop, try here.

Thank you very much, you have provided the "recovery.img" file which I had hard time to get. Also, really good guide. :good:

unfortunately an error occured, when I'm trying to flash through PC there is an error:
C:\Users\MTP\Desktop\StockROM>
sending 'zip' (1290397 KB)...
FAILED (remote: data length is too large)
finished. total time: 0.004s

smaller ROM file:
C:\Users\MTP\Desktop\StockROM>fastboot flash zip 0P9CIMG.zip

writing 'zip'...

so i tried 2nd option with flashing via HBOOT:

What was the last thing you flashed, before your phone was bricked?

[I have to begin with a note, that I have already repaired my device using quite effortless (in case of beeing in possesion of a backup files) TWRP method]
My phone was never bricked, before I entered relocked bootloader mode I have flashed recovery file and even before I used custom ROM (CM Based) to be able to turn on USB Debugging. I have tried a couple of times to flash stock ROM (2 types), but failed miserably. I didn't count drivers installation. Thanks

HTC Desire 816 single sim (816n) for europe (A5_UL) Please HELP
i downloaded the file 0P9CIMG.zip but file is corrupted . Please need your HELP

Well what is the CID for your device? Check in bootloader or do a fastboot getvar all to view the CID/MID of device.
What software version are you trying to install? It should have had the software version when you received the update 4.xx.xxx.x 3.xx.xxx.x?
Thanks for fast response, CID is 11111111, firstly I tried default OTA from system notification with same effect, but today I tried manual update and get this error message. Before it was only android with exclamation mark and error.

2.12.1700.1 That's Google Play Edition.
Change the CID to Google's and see if the OTA works.
fastboot oem writecid GOOGL001
it worked, thank you very much :good:

See response to your other post. You are trying to use firewater, which will never work, and has not worked for 4 years.
Also, I know you are new to the forum. But try to stick to posting to threads that are directly related to your question. I don't see what your question has anything to do with the topic of this thread. Also, refrain from posting to threads that have been dormant for 3-4 years. The info contained in this thread will almost certainly never apply to you, due to the age of the posts. If you can't find a thread related to your question, that is more recent; then just feel free to create a new thread.
Thanks.

[Help me] - M8 can not turn-on wifi on Android 6.0

SkyDragon M8 v1.5 Marshmallow http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc...the-worlds-first100-m9-port-m8upload-t3064838
Now i can not turn on wifi. When i try airplane mode then turn airplane mode off, it show an error message "Fail to load drive, reason: Unknown Error (1)"
I try some others rom, i still get the same error. So i think may be i do something wrong.
Please tell me how do i fix it. Thank you.

Your firmware is not correctly installed.
Now it shows - 1.54.651.8 (4.25.651.18) (in red)
It should show - 4.25.651.18 (in green)
You should update it to Marshmallow 6.20.651.3 to run a Marshmallow ROM
All you need are in Sprint forum - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729173
NOTE : SkyDragon ROM v.1.5, v.1.5.1 & v.4.0 do not support Sprint device. Other SD versions support Sprint pre-Marshmallow only.
So.. try other ROM after you updated firmware to Marshmallow.
I have flashed 6.20.654.3 Full Firmware...(fastboot flashable): https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24391638059059027
Now my bootloader still have a red line
Why you said 6.20.654.3 firmware but the screenshot show 6.20.651.3 ?
Do you know that you need to install firmware.zip twice ?
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
You'll see -
if failed : FAILED (remote: 90 hboot pre-update! please flush image again immediately)
repeat fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader (to check your current bootloader)
Anyway .. you better ask your question in Sprint thread or wait for someone with Sprint device to advise you further. I can only advise you on general/basic stuff because my device is non-Sprint
Thank you a lot.
I flash new firmware successful, with the green line .
Now i try an other rom.

Not sure what I can do to remedy this problem. I will preface this problem by saying I had a failed root attempted which pushed me to install a clean Android 10 image. Bootloader is unlocked.

I'm not sure how many places it needs posted that TWRP for Pixel 3/3XL on Adroid 10 does not work and will not until they release a compatible version.

True Dat
Given that https://www.xda-developers.com/google-pixel-3-unlock-bootloader-root-magisk/ is currently the top google result when searching for "google pixel 3a root" (or just about any variation thereof), editing that post to let people new to the pixel ecosystem know that the method it's recommending no longer works would probably be a better solution than waiting for people to search on the xda developer forums for the problems they encounter when trying to use TWRP.
Getting the same error message however I'm trying to boot twrp on rooted pixel 3 xl running android 12, is that even possible.

I was able to root mine with Magisk and install their custom mods, but that is where the fun stops. I also EX Kernel Manager that seems to work well.

When German is your native language then study this thread:
https://www.android-hilfe.de/forum/...e-to-device-failed-command-failed.942534.html
In short, you can't flash a recovery that's why you have to boot the recovery directly.

im sorry, im late
everything is working fine.
You have to extract the los.img and then install it via
HTML:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
fastboot erase userdata
because there is no working twrp for the device, you have to need the lineage recovery.
This is the solution in a german forum.
thanks everybody!

Question POCO F4 - system has been destroyed - it's dificult

I am using a Poco F4 5G device.
The problem started when I tried to partition my device to install Windows 11. I followed the tutorial on https://renegade-project.tech/en/install, and at first, everything seemed to be going smoothly. The problem arose when I attempted to partition the device. There were some explanations that I did not read carefully because I was feeling very sleepy. In the first explanation, I clicked "Ignore," and in the second explanation, I clicked "Cancel."
{

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
After I rebooted the system, I received an error message that said "System has been destroyed." Initially, I did not panic because I was used to dealing with such problems. However, after trying several methods that I usually use, none of them worked:
Installing a new TWRP
Using VB Meta
Flashing using PowerShell
Flashing using Mi Flash
when i try boot via twrp again :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot flash recovery twrp.img target reported max download size of 805306368 bytes sending 'recovery' (196608 KB)... OKAY [ 7.306s] writing 'recovery'... FAILED (remote: Flashing is not allowed in Lock State) finished. total time: 7.317s
Perhaps someone here has experienced the same problem and can provide some guidance.
ok so the problem is being generated because you haven't unlocked you bootloader, it's locked
you have to unlock it first
maybe your phone's bl got locked while u were installing miui, if it was unlocked earlier
Ok so, i looked into it, the brick happend cause the project you tried installing on poco f4 was made for poco f1
No, I had already unlocked it before I did it."
