ok mate think i can solve your problem i had the exact same issue when you copy the token make sure you remove all the spaces when you copy and paste the code make sure there are no spaces at the end of each line or at the beginning of each line you can check this by putting your cursor at the top left of the code and keep your finger on the right key as the cursor moves to the end of the line make sure it jumps down to the next line immediately and it doesn't continue for even one blank space at the end of the line i found one single blank space after the first line and i got the same error as you until i removed this space let me know if this helps it had me stuck for ages
I did it again and examined the lines closely. no dice

yes oem unlocking is enabled and this is the factory unlocked one preordered from HTC. Has anyone seen similar issues with their unit?

i had the same issue and used Microsoft Edge browser and it worked as per suggestion from somebody here
I'm having the same issue. Can't figure it out
Different browser did not work for me.
Think I had this issue once when I didn't copy the code into the box properly, copy it exactly as they do first line to last, I tend to have to remove some leading text from each row.
I was getting this error too but didn't realize I generated the code before checking the OEM Unlocking option dialog. The code changes once you do so.
Pasting this code in will just give you an unlock code that fails with that error message. Make sure you did not accidentally do it backwards.
Not sure how browser would be an issue.
Using the Microsoft Edge browser worked for me, but I have no idea why
I've got the same problem. OEM unlocking is enabled and I've regenerated my unlock_code.bin after doing so. I've made sure there's no leading or trailing spaces in the oem token code thing I paste in. I've tried downloading the unlock_code.bin through Microsoft Edge. Exact same error as OP. Any clues?
Took me 3 tokens

Trying to unlock the bootloader, got my Unlock_code.bin file, but when I try to use it I get this error message:
C:\Users\Will\Desktop\fastboot>fastboot flash unlocktoken unlock_code.bin

sending 'unlocktoken' (0 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.007s]

(bootloader) [KillSwitch] Last Byte is 0X01, enable unlock
FAILED (remote: UnlockToken Verify Fail!!)
finished. total time: 1.082s
And of course when I reboot into bootloader it says it is locked. Tried moving the file with fastboot and the unlock_code file to a couple different places and nothing helped, and rebooting both phone and PC. Any ideas?

Did you enable unlocking in dev options?
If so, many others who have had an issue with their unlock tokens reported that using a different browser worked for them. Search the forum, there's at least one thread on about it.
Also the error message says your unlock token is 0KB. Are you sure the file is complete?
Maybe try redownload it and verify it with an MD5 hash.
I figured it out, it was just that I copied the code to get the unlock file improperly when I was in CMD. I had to copy it, but I had to turn off "enable line wrapping selection" in the cmd properties, when I tried before to copy it I ended up copying a bunch of extra info that I edited out in notepad, and I think that caused an extra space or error to be somewhere in the code, even though it worked on the HTC site. Anyway thank you for the tips guys!

Maybe your computer automatically extracted the file or something

I had to request unlock multiple times and use different browsers until it finally worked. I believe it finally worked when I completed the process with the MS Edge browser.

Follow the tutorial from htcdev instead. Read each step slowly.
Ok. Problem solved, I had to generate again new Unlock code.
Hello, Im trying to open my bootloader and having a lot of trouble with it, at first, I had a problem with LG, when I tried to get my unlock.bin file, it said that the device id and imei does not match, I guessed it was because I had my motherboard replaced(twice..) and emailed LG developer support, they helped me and I managed to download the unlock.bin file, but then when I tried to flash it I get the next error:
G:\Program Files\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot flash unlock unlock.bin
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'unlock' (1 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.017s]
writing 'unlock'...
(bootloader) -----------------------------------------------------------
(bootloader) Error!!
(bootloader) Wrong Bootloader Unlock key
(bootloader) -----------------------------------------------------------
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.125s
I did make sure that the unlock.bin file I downloaded is in the same folder as the adb, but nothing works..
Thanks for the help.
