Hello, xda-developers community!
I'm a fresh member of this community so let me say hello first. Recently I got Nexus 5X and I was doing some research about this phone. The smartphone doesn't have double-tap feature, but from what I know the CPU supports this thing. So, is there any way to enable double-tap function on Nexus 5X? Not gonna lie, it would be so helpful in daily use to double-tap to see notifications insted of clicking the power button.

this is a kernel feature and the kernel developers for our device not interested to add it i think.
you can ask about [DT2W/S2W] features in kernel thread

At the moment, there is not, but maybe in the future the P6 will support this action.

I just saw this yesterday on xda news. Requires kitkat tho.

It might be what you're looking for. However, I have never tried it and I don't know if it will work for huawei p6. I'm not sure if it works with double tapping screen... but I assume that it should since it is imitating the moto x lockscreen.
EDIT: On google play now. No need for root I think.

EDIT: Just tried it. Doesn't work. :S

The Active notification feature requires AMOLED screen for best performance, while Huawei devices don't use AMOLED screen. And its not the same as LG's tap to wake feature, which is compatible with our device.
Right

I had this feature, it's really handy, but yes it's completely not related with the DT2W
Hi guys, when i bought my oppo find 7a 1 month ago, i was searching for some tips and tricks on youtube and found out that you basically never have to touch the power button to lock or unlock the phone. Just double tap anywhere on the screen to unlock and double tap the home button to lock. This simple tip makes it so easy and quick to lock/unlock faster (really helpfull since it's a big phone).
Maybe you will find it weird, but it makes me love the phone so much more just because of that. I don't know if other phones does that? I am so used to this tip now that i always double tap as a reflex when i use my friend's phone from other brands and then realise that it doesn't work.
If you didn't know this trick, maybe it will feel weird for a some times to develop this reflex of double taping, but try it and you'll love it after some time.
I guess that nobody reads instructions manuals anymore...

Welcome to the forum. Did you also know that drawing a circle on the screen while the screen is off will launch the camera, drawing the letter 'v' will toggle the flashlight on/off
By going in to settings then about phone and tapping on android version 5 times in a row will bring up a cool secret easter egg from Google
Just wondering if anyone has come across a double tap to wake mod yet? Wishful thinking on my end as that's my favorite feature/ only feature that LG does well lol

Yes it's in there and working. You can set it in EX kernel manager.
I like sweep to wake better though, though you can set both in elementalX.
Thanks guys. I'll look into it. Just flashed my first ROM on this device and haven't seen the kernels yet. Thank you for the tips
Or Android 7 in general? Do you have to hit the side button to wake it up all the time?

That's not necessarily OS related but also hardware. On the N6 on 6.0.1 and 7 double tap to wake works. No one will know for the Pixel's until people actually have them.
They will implement it in a future software update, according to this article.
I think it's there I've seen some first hands on video in which he double taps to wake up the phone I'll post the link if i find it

I have a question for users of this phone. Is it possible to wake the screen with a double click?

I don't think so, but with Huawei's book case it wakes just by opening the case
Three years ago I planned to buy this phone, but the lack of this feature effectively discouraged me from buying it. I thought that HUAWEI would bow to the pressure of users and introduce this function in the next versions of EMUI. It's a pity, especially that now you can buy this device for about $ 300,
it hasn't it and is one of the most boring things imaginable.
But.. raise to wake is present

Wondering if double tap can work if downgrading to EMUI 9.1 whereby bootloader can be unlocked allowing one to modify the system settings?
