Use A Retro Game Controller With Android
When playing emulated games, you'll get the best experience if you use an old school controller. I spent quite some time trying to find the port to plug in my old NES controller until I realized that there wasn't one! What a conundrum. Turns out there is a better way of doing this. You can buy Bluetooth enabled controllers that hook up with your Android. They have many that are designed to look and feel just like the controllers from back in the day.
Bluetooth controllers will usually cost you around $20 to $30. You can also use USB controllers which are considerably cheaper. You'll just need a USB OTG adapter to plug them in. I'll list some great retro controllers that will work on Android and post links to where you an buy them.

Now that the Android app for onlive is out anyone know If the universal controller will work with this phone? I want to make sure before I buy it
I wonder if my ps3 controller works with this. Downloading the app right now.
I've never heard of onlive before...but I must say...this app is amazing. Games look very realistic and not choppy...considering how good the graphics are. Here's a screenshot I took of playing Lego Batman. They let you try and play the game for 30mins...if you like it you can buy it. Really awesome.

Well any luck?
I tried to get a PS3 controller hooked up to the stock rom, with no luck. I heard it works on cyanogen mod. What I want is to hook up mhl and otg so we can use a mouse and keyboard.

Pros -
Size
Price
Build Quality
Cell phone holder
Pairs easily and works with a lot more games than the Nyko Playpad
Controls felt a lot tighter with virtually no lag
Cons -
Uses batteries instead of being rechargable
Analog sticks are the greatest at times they didn’t register diagnal movement.

This is my video review of the Nyko Playpad pro. http://youtu.be/9jIK56-NbHU
Initially I thought this was a fairly good controller but after a few weeks over ownership I no longer feel the same. I will do my best to list the pros and cons of this device.
Pros -
Feels nice in the hands and reminds me of an xbox 360 controller
Rechargeable via a micro usb cable
Has a soft touch coating so it feels really comfortable in hand.
Analog sticks work well
Cons -
Picks up grease from your finger tips easily
Is a nightmare to pair and at times I had to restore my Nexus 7 tablet just to get it work
Controls don't feel as tight or lag free like the PowerA Moga controller
Software that was released with the controller is buggy and in beta
works with Ipad but only has icade support (I'd almost it rather it didn't work
Summary
Overall I can't recommend the Moga Playpad Pro. While it has a solid construction, the pairing issues and horrible software given with this device will leave you with a headache rather than enjoying the games your suppose to.
Hi all,
I just finished reviewing the iPega PG-9025 Bluetooth Gamepad for Android and iOS. It mimics the Xbox 360 gamepad layout, and also has a set of media buttons allowing volume control, play/pause and skip.

The iPega PG-9025 is pretty impressive, particularly its diverse compatibility. Those using several platforms will be well looked after. The controller was fairly comfortable and performed really well, even though it is let down slightly by some odd button placements. Its perfect for Android users wanting portable gaming or a cheap wireless controller for their mini PC. iOS users are trickier however. Fans of iCade games are well served, but those who desire future compatibility may need to look at the (admittedly far more expensive) MFI controllers.
I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.
Thanks to Tmart for providing me a sample to review. You can get one from them here. Use coupon "g9ivogdh" to get it for $23.99.

Good day all, I recently bought myself this cheap gamepad for light gaming on my laptop but I've been wondering if it would work on my M8
Has anybody tried this?
I'd love to play some PSP games, and I've used the ppsspp emulator before so I know it runs games smoothly
I'm just not comfortable holding my device and using on screen keys.
This would also be useful for any emulated games actually, so I'd like to know if it would work when I connect the gamepad via usb otg cable
Thanks in advance for any advice you're willing to give.
Have a good day
It should work.
I'e used logitech dual action through otg and it works flawlessly.
Yes, it will work. I tried with an Microsoft Xbox 360 controller a couple of months back. And it worked, just plug the controller to the phone trought the OTG cable and it will work.

I tried a couple of games; such as:
1. SHADOWGUN: DeadZone
2.Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
3.Real Racing 3
4.LIMBO
5.Batman: The Dark Knight Rises
But at the end, I purchased the MOGA Pocket Controller from Amazon and it's better instead to be playing with a wired controller
Best Regards.
