Hey guys. just tried to flash CM 10.1.3 after some bugs in Carbon started getting on my nerves. Used ROM Toolbox and ended up getting my device stuck in some kind of weird boot loop. The phone boots up with the samsung logo and (recovery booting) text at the top left hand corner. For some reason, it boots up, but nothing on the display. it vibrates every few seconds, but nothing. I tried to boot into recovery manually, but the same thing happens. So i figure I'll just to into Odin and flash my stock copy on, no big deal. For some reason, my PC, nor Odin are recognizing that the GS3 is plugged in and in download mode. No Unkown Devices, nothing shows up anywhere. Anyone know a fix, or am I completely ****ed?
If your PC does not recognize download mode, you can try to check the cable, plug it into a different USB port, or pull your battery and try again.
If none of that works, you are not screwed. Be lucky you have an android It's possible for an android to boot from an SDcard such as a windows boot disk on desktop.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2345860 AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS THREAD, contains a link for an AT&T SGH-i747 debrick.img which should work ( I will edit my post when I complete, I am in the process of repairing my old brick now)
I an not responsible for any damage done to the device, or any sudden loss of limbs.
Thanks
Ok so first, let me say I know I done goofed. What happened was my phone (Note 2 GT-N7100) started to choke up a lot, battery life was ridiculously low and then suddenly my phone's language was constantly being switched to Italian.
I thought it might be a virus but a scan couldn't find anything. I deleted almost all apps in hopes it would stop but the phone went on with these weird glitches. In an act of desperation, I decided to wipe out everything and go back to factory settings.
Thing is my phone is rooted and I had the X Note Rom installed. When I tried the factory reset on TWRP, it still went back to the X Note Rom. That's when I dun goofed. I deleted EVERY ****ING THING in a desperate and stupid move.
Now when I press Volume Up + Home + Power I can get to Recovery Mode but I ain't got **** to install. If I press Volume Down + Home + Power I get into Odin mode but get a "Downloading... Do not turn off target!!" message that just hangs there forever.
To top it off, my computer won't recognize the damn phone anymore. Am I ****ed? Can I get myself out of this mess?! Please HELP!!!
Take it easy, download a custom rom, transfer it to the SD card, enter recovery and Flash it.
Since you can't connect the phone via USB, you need a SD card reader (if you have a laptop you 100% have it)
OR
You could flash the stock ROM through Odin, but it's more risky in my opinion. I would go with the 1st method

My problem is that while tring to reinstall my 4.3 droid i went to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498233 and tried using these files to get another rom, so as it mentioned i started flashing the boot loader but via odin i coudn't as odin negated to proceed due to errors. Them i triede odin multiloader them i tried TWRP them i ended up messing everythin tring via Clock work mod recovery. I just got the process well done and them when the system tries to boot it just won't boot. The eternal black screen looks like i have to a Hard Brick and even if while i try the usb cable the computer responds to the device, i couldn't take it to Download Mode.
After some research i have see that it's possible to make a debrick via SD card.

again it may not work so don't get your hopes up to high ITS A TRIAL AND ERROR situation WITH HARD BRICKS...........
some people have successfully debricked their device, so again you have to be patient and know exactly what you are doing and dont panic
Remember Mobiletechvideos.com can fix it in less than 25 minutes depending on your phone :laugh:and they are affordable :good:
Your pretty much stuck if you can't recover via SD card.
Remember there are a lot of options for JTAG repair, research local repairs by Kijiiji and also places like Mobile Tech Videos. Always search for legitimacy and best price.

Can’t access to Download Mode or Recovery Mode after bricking AT&T Galaxy S3 i744 4.3

Because the phone is in another country I couldn’t update it by OTA to android 4.3
So I started to read forums that said how to Update AT&T S3 i747 to android 4.3 (I747UCUEMJB)
The S3 was not Root
I installed all the phone drivers in the computer
This is what I did: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52341582&postcount=38)
- Use Odin 3.07
- Check Auto Reboot and Re-Partition, and uncheck all the boxes
- I put my phone in USB debugging in the developer options
- I turned it off
- Started to put the phone on Download Mode pressing volume DW+home+power button at the same time
- In Odin on the PDA box I checked and loaded the file .tar.md5 (I747UCUEMJB_2024954_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5 )
- Pressed the button Start
The installation seemed to go right, the program never showed anything weird.
When the Programs finished the installation the phone turned off and then turned on and show the logo of android (seemed to be lying down or inclined) and after that it turned off.
The computer showed that something was connected (QHSUSB_DLOAD) but couldn’t install any driver, so I disconnected it of the computer.
I couldn’t turn on the phone :crying:, I took the battery out and put it in and tried to start the phone and nothing happened, I tried pressing any button to access to recovery o download mode and none of this worked.
I started to search forums that talk about restart or turn on a brick AT&T S3 i747
I found one (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549068) that said to download a image (debrick-SGH-I747U-CUEMJB3.img) and using the program “Win32DiskImager” to put the image inside of a micro SD to make the phone turn on,
I put the micro SD inside the phone and when I pushed the power button for almost 3 seconds it Turned on , the phone seems to be fine an it has android 4.3 (I747UCUEMJB) installed.
I can use it normally so far.
But the problem is that I can’t turn on the phone if the micro SD card is not inserted on the phone.
Without the micro SD inside don’t show any sign of life
When the micro SD is inside I can turn on the phone and use its apps.
I have tried to enter to Recovery mode or Download mode with the micro SD inside but the phone only show what its supposed to happen for 1 second then turns off and then turns on by its own (after that I can use it normally)
Does anyone know how can I Fix my phone ?
How can I boot my phone without using the micro SD card?
How can I access to download mode?
And if I could access to download mode what should I do next ?
The only files I have now are:
Odin3 v3.07
I747UCUEMJB_2024954_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5(905 Mb)
debrick-SGH-I747U-CUEMJB3.img (80 Mb)

It's been a while sorry about beinging away.
A guy who says that have a JTAG service tried and coudn't recover it. So I left it there because it have a broken display and a broken firmware and it' is from outside Brazil and after the FIFA CUP Anatel will lock operation of devices that models are not sold on Brazil and I747 is probably included on the list.
So i gave up from my phone and bought a Nexus 5.
The case is closed!

Here's what you can do to get the device back to working and booting normally. If the Odin flash failed first time, you should not use this flash again. Instead you should use custom recovery to flash a complete 4.3 stock restore image.
1) Download the stock restore image from the following thread. I always prefer to use TWRP and thus, the TWRP image, because of the easier user interface.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658486
Save the file to a location on your computer.
2) Download the Odin flashable TWRP Tar file for custom recovery from the link below ....
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/d2att/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.1-d2att.tar
With the debrick card in your phone, boot to system as you have been doing. Connect your phone to your computer with a good quality micro USB cable and copy the stock restore image you downloaded earlier to your phone. Be sure you remember the stored location.
3) Power off your phone and, with the debrick card, boot to download mode. If you cannot use the Volume Down, Power and Home button combo to boot to download mode, you may need to get a USB jig.
4) Once you are in download mode, connect your phone to the PC, open Odin v3.07. Make sure Odin recognizes your phone. Do not check or uncheck any boxes but leave the defaults as is. In the PDA box, load the TWRP Tar file you downloaded earlier. Click on Start and wait for flashing to complete. When you get to Pass, disconnect your phone from the PC and pull out the battery to stop it trying to reboot.
5) Replace the battery and with the debrick card inside, boot to Recovery mode by pressing the Volume Up, Power and Home buttons. If you do this right, you should be able to get to recovery mode.
6) Select Install and navigate to the stock restore zip file you saved to your phone earlier. Select this zip and swipe to confirm install. Wait for firmware installation (flashing) to complete.
7) Clear your cache/dalvikand reboot to system.
Try booting without the card. If the above process went as described, your phone should be booting normally. Good luck!

Okay. At least, we are almost there. Try booting into recovery mode and doing a hard wipe/reset. If this doesn't work, then you could try reinstalling the 4.3 stock firmware. You may need to reflash custom recovery as the initial flashing would have returned you to stock recovery. If you have to do the firmware flashing again, please make sure you clear your cache/dalvik before rebooting to system.
happy to see this thread resolved, this is what XDA is all about, no matter how fd up something sounds, a community like xda will find a fix for it even if it takes months
And the award of the Q/A thread goes to Larry and everyone in this post for trying and failing but succeeding at the end
anywayz happy rooting and be careful, no-one wants to end with a brick cheers and keep this place awsome

Hey Larry2999 I want to really thank you for your help it was so helpful, actually I discovered that the battery of the Galaxy S3 was failing thats why when I turned on the phone it turned off after a seconds althoughthe battery was charged, so I connected the charger to the phone and it started normally. Now I can use it and it has android 4.3.

Did you try getting into download mode with the 3-button combo (Volume Down/Power/Home)?
So I soft bricked my LG G Pad II 8.0 Tablet... Not the worst thing in the world, except that 1.) There seems to be not much at all on the internet as far as stock ROMs or how to guides on fixing my particular tablet. 2.) My computer does not seem to be recognizing my tablet when trying to use ADB, despite having installed all the drivers etc.
My device is stuck in a BootLoop, it will allow me to try a Hard Reset, which is unsuccessful. But it will not go into recovery mode OR Download mode no matter what sequence of the buttons I push and i've scoured the internet trying different button sequences.
My Tablet will charge when plugged into USB, my comp will also go *ding* when i press the power button with the tablet plugged in as if it is reconginzing it and everything. Also Device Manager seems to have it listed with no Exclamation Point or any sign of trouble... Just when I go to use ADB and i search for the device it says *error no device found*
The Tablet just sits there with the LG Logo screen pissing me off more and more as my attempts fail.
I will say USB debugging was not enabled beforehand *cough cough* my mistake
Will reflashing it work by using the MicroSD card method? If that is the only way i will have to just buy one i guess. It did not come with it and it is a Wifi only tablet, no carrier attached.
And if I try the MicroSD method, will it still work without being able to put the tablet into recovery mode?
I believe I have the correct .IMG file for my stock ROM... I just can't seem to get anywhere with flashing it to the device at this point.......
Please Help!

*UPDATE* So I happened to stumble upon a random piece of information that proved REALLY useful in this situation. Someone put in a forum that Lollipop ONLY is detected when plugged into USB 2.0 ports NOT USB 3.0 ports like I was using. So I did this and was able to make my tablet enter into Download Mode FINALLY.... Anyone have any good methods on how to Flash Stock ROM using ADB and a connected soft bricked tablet?
I have already tried a couple methods that I have found and they were unsuccessful. One was using ODIN software and the other was using LG Flash Tool, unfortunately neither worked....
Hello,
my wife got a S21 FE (SM-G990B/DS VD2). Yesterday it started to reboot over and over out of a sudden, showing the samsung logo first, followed by the knox logo, then shutting off and on again. Tried several guides to enter Recovery or Download Mode. The only thing that worked was entering download mode by pressing Vol up, down and power while a USB-Cable is plugged in, but as soon as i press the vol up button to pass the "warning screen", it shows some phone specs for a couple of seconds, shuts off and starts bootlooping again. After some hours, the phone once entered recovery mode when it lied next to me for about an hour. Tried to wipe cache, but just got an error I can't remember right now. Hoped it fixed itself when it made it to recovery and just rebooted to see if it works again, but then it just keept bootlooping again.
Since then I couldn't figure out why it once booted to recovery on it's own nor why I can't force it to enter recovery by pressing vol up + on.
Still hope it's just a faulty update or bug, but feels very much like it's a hardware related issue. Replacing the phone won't be an issue, but I'd really want to save data on the phone as my wife didn't make any backups and really wants to keep the photos.
As I just found guides that included recovery or DL-Mode, which are both no valid options for my case, I'd be thankful for any ideas to fix the phone or at least gain access to files before replacing it.
So.. did anyone come across similar issues and found a solution to revive the phone or are there any "unpopular" ways to recover samsung phones out of this state?
Edit:
Turned off completely overnight, booted once to system, looped again and now it's working like nothing ever happened. Got no clue what caused it or why it is working again. Saved everything for the case it happens again.
Wouldn't trust that device anymore, but my wife wants to keep it.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I would just like to reply here and add my own potential fix and also would like confirmation that it would work.
So I have a SM-G996B in a boot loop which returns a 'fs_mgr_mount_all' error. Possible to reboot into recovery mode, cleared cache and restarted bootloader etc with the same boot loop. Powered off and connected to PC for Download mode for ODIN recovery but upon pressing volume up, it then restarts again so Download mode recovery is impossible.
I know however that Developer options and USB debugging was enabled on the device as well as unlocked boot loader. I was able to download the correct original stock OS based on the PDA , CSC and Android version.
I have then installed the latest ADB software on my PC and Samsung USB drivers.
By then rebooting into recovery mode, I have the option of 'Apply update from ADB'. I have then confirmed the device connects using the ADB devices command.
I would like to clarify one thing however. I want to keep the user data at all costs. By using the stock firmware and renaming as update.zip, will it use the HOME_CSC and not the CSC file? If not would it work if I open the zip and remove the CSC before re-zipping to make sure?
Thanks

Similar issue with same phone. In a bootloop after trying to root. None of the button combinations have worked for me, for the past several days.
Tried powering the phone off for the whole night.
When connected to the PC shows phone is in recovery mode via adb (blank screen though).
Want to know how to get into DL-mode, guaranteed.
Got to DL mode by pressing vol up + down + power + usb cable connected in PC and phone. However, couldn't do anything there, but maybe you can
Also, phone is still working and I still have no clue what was the problem and what fixed it.
