Dear mates:
I have the following problem. I have followed all the tutorials found in the forum, but I cannot enter recovery mode. If I use adb, it reboots normally, as well as entering from fastboot. I have unlocked bootloader and rooted. No way with flashify nor twrp installer, it always reboot normally.
I do not mean that it hasn't been installed permanently, but it does not boot even for the first time. It is weird, isnt it?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Had the same problem with my H811 the only thing that worked for me was to install recovery for h815 via flashify. This will at least get u to recovery. Then flash the correct recovery for your device.
Sounds crazy last thing I would normally do but I tried everything and this was a long shot ,but it worked like a charm! Hope this helps

Hi all it's the first time I post here because it's the first time i need to post here
You are all fantastic guys thanks for all!
Ok I got my HTC Wildfire S Europe unbranded, S-ON, Bootloader unlocked via HTCdev.
I can't install ANY recovery on it.
Here's what i've tried:
- Putting P**.img in sdcard. The sd has been firstly not goldcard and then i have "goldcarded" it.
- Flash the recovery by fastboot (fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img)
Everytime i try to flash the operation comes successful but, when I try to boot to recovery, it stucks forever on HTC Logo.
What do I make wrong?
I can't install any rom because everyone comes in .zip ...
Root your phone, install Rom manager from the play store and select "Download Clockworkmod Recovery" then "Flash Clockworkmod Recovery"
SOunds like the issue I had, I couldn't install it either, until someone pointed out that I needed a CDMA version of the recovery (CWM).
http://download.clockworkmod.com/rec....8-marvelc.img
Try that. My new issue is that it freezes on CWM< maybe you won't have this issue, let me know.

I didn't know this, I'll try.
Your link does not work, i'll look for that img btw, thanks!
Edit: Understood now that points were to hide the version, maybe
Edit 2: It doesn't work. I've also tried the 9th version but nothing..

Try that. Install using fast boot if you can't install it in hboot.
It's CWM 4.0X.X (forgot exact numbers)
It worked for me, my phone no longer freezes and I was able to install roms without any issues.
It correctly flashed but when I boot into recovery it stucks as always at HTC Logo.
But why?
I would contact this guy.

He helped me.

I don't remember any 4.0.X.X recovery for the wildfire S... strange.
@OP - Try alquez's CWM recovery.
Here: http://www.mediafire.com/?p2p88udo32m9xcg
Place the zip in the root of your SD Card, reboot into bootloader by pressing Vol + and Power, let it scan..... bla bla bla it will install.
Then enter Recovery and see if that works. That's the only way I see possible. Or try the above recovery.
Good luck!
I have alredy tried alquez's recovery.
I remember that firstly it said "Cid Error" then after i goldcarded my sdcard it said "Main Version is Older" and it didn't install.
BTW the main reason I'd like to flash a recovery is that I'd like to root again the phone after the last update. The only method I've seen is to flash root.zip via cwm because other one-click programs no longer works.
It looks like it's a damned phone...

Same issue here on the Telus T989D. Any solutions without using cwm?
You can always try the manual method if your brave and familiar with the terminal. Go to Team Win's for our phone here: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/101. Download the .IMG file and follow the instructions under Download - Recovery Image Method (using dd): Not hard but doublecheck your typing before hitting enter or you'll brick your phone.
I'm not responsible for any actions taken because of this post. Good Luck, its worth it in the long run.

One small problem with that.....
Hi guys. I'm having a somewhat similar issue, but it's a little more problematic than that. I was in mid-flash when I unfortunately learned that any attempt to work with the cache resulted in an immediate freeze-up. From what little of the log I've seen, it's trying to tell me that the cache partition is read-only. Any attempt to unmount, wipe, or work with the cache in any way will result in an immediate lock up. This is *after* wiping the system and data partitions. I have been able to get TWRP to start correctly twice in the last 40 times I've tried to boot up the phone.
Question: I noticed that TWRP has a button where you can enter a terminal command. I don't have adb set up yet on this machine, since reloading it. I would imagine the answer would be 'no', but is it possible to put a different recovery image on the sd card, then use TWRP's terminal button to issue the command to flash it, or would that make matters worse? Or am I going to have to set up adb and odin again on another machine and use that? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Side note: I should've stayed with CWM non-touch. :crying:
This worked for me:
reflash CWM, flash superwipe, install TWRP through goomanager.
i had the same problem on my t989 and this odin flashed version posted here worked fine

I flashed that version through Odin and it seems to be running just fine. I wiped caches and now TWRP appears to be working normally :fingers-crossed:

EDIT: Wow I guess I didnt read the critical part where your stuck on the recovery boot screen so the attachment below wont help.... JUMP DOWN TO POST #21 AND FOLLOW IT TO RECTIFY THE GETTING STUCK ISSUE
Here, try this file guys. Someone over in the Jedi threads made a CWM flashable TWRP zip. You can thank me for bringing it to your attention if you want, but I did not create this ( I just clicked on the attachment paperclip for the thread and browsed through all the attachments because I knew I saw it somewhere in the development section...)
I also checked TWRP's own website and for the Hercules, v.2.3.1.1 is the latest version supported for our device so far but I only found 2.3.0.0 packed in a recovery flashable form.
Just flash it via CWM like any other zip and once its done it'll reboot your device automatically to system, so just reboot it back to recovery to make sure it worked. It did for me when I did awhile back with v.2.2.2.0 and I just used the below file to flash and update it in TWRP to v.2.3.0.0
Hope it helps

edit- got it working again.. ended up odin flashing twrp 2.2 and i was able to wipe everything and install the new rom stuff.

Re-flash CWM
Re-install a version to TWRP that works
Thanks!

Currently the non-functioning TWRP. I tried flashing CWM from the Rom Manager app, but that froze too. Looking for a reliable fix. I do not have a preference for recovery.

If you have either I guess it doesn't really matter. Just install/flash the attached file below just like you would any other rom via your recovery.
After it installs reboot back into recovery and you will see the old recovery replaced with the latest TWRP for the T989.
Lemme know if this works for ya.

This is the part I don't understand. If my TWRP is stuck, how do I install/flash via my recovery?
Soo.. I decided to install Cynogen Mod 5.1.1 onto the Note 2. And, All worked fine....
But here is an issue. A while back I had to unlock the phone, which required me to install TWRP.. Now the issue is i think i installed it into the Boot instead of recovery.. So now whenever i select ANY power option in TWRP, the phone restarts into TWRP again.. Now, All i had to do was just do a battery pull and all was good.. Except for now..
I tried to update CM through TWRP, but it did something and now the phone boots into TWRP no matter what. I got the Android universal toolkit or whatever running and trying to fix the boot.img, But have been unsuccessful so far..
So, Any help that i can get would be appreciated.
Things I have done:
1. Reflashed boot.img with original.
2. Reflashed recovery with newer twrp
3. Factory reset, formated/
4. Installed backup with 4.4.2 installed still
5. Googled everything

AFTER 5 HOURS OF WORK I FIXED IT!
I reinstalled the Original recovery. Then rebooted, and it all worked.. 1:02 AM and tired as heck....
Can you tell me how you installed the original recovery? I did the same thing and now all my phone boots into is TWRP.
Alright.. It's a bit of a Google.. But you gotta find the original recovery for the phone on the web.. The recovery for the gt-n100 or whatever works. So look for that.

Okay thanks! I managed to find the one for my phone
So the only way I can get to TWRP is by flashing it.
Everytime I do the button combination to go to recovery while the phone is off, it takes me to the LG thing and says "would you like to reset to factory settings?" and only says "yes" or "no."
No TWRP at all.
If I choose yes, then all my data is gone. If I choose no, then nothing happens.
The only way I can get to TWRP is to go on fastboot, and do "fastboot boot twrp.img"
If I do "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" then it does nothing.
Any help is appreciated.

You can either try this, or you maybe need another method. I had the same problem when I installed TWRP on 6.0. It didn't seem to be properly installed. What I did was
- Use LGUP to go back to 5.1 Stock ROM
- Root it following THESE instructions
- Install TWRP (Works flawlessly on 5.1 and you can use Quick Boot from the play store to check if it works)
- And THEN Upgrade to 6.0 with autoprime's Guide --> THIS one
After I did this I had rooted 6.0 with TWRP working. Maybe this will solve your problem. Cheers
the recovery is there, just say yes and yes and it will load

It just wipes my phone.
If you're at TWRP, reboot with it into TWRP again. Just follow the instructions and deny SU-things, you get presented. You can also flash SuperSU through it, boot up, install Flashify and install TWRP with it - also works great (did it this way). Just download TWRP from the official source & don't download it through Flashify.
You have only copy the twrp-xxx.img to your internal storage or sd card.
Boot via adb into TWRP, go to install, choose the twrp-xxx.img flash it as revovery and thats it.
Now you can rebooter apps to boot direcly into recovery or use the power down/power key combination during while you power the phone.
So I clean flashed the newest community edition of Oxygen. Directly after I flashed it I flashed SuperSU. Everything goes well, no big error messages (I edited the updater-script for Oxygen). So I boot into Oxygen, and I can't find root. Everything is working beautifully but there's just no SuperSU. So I reboot to recovery, about to flash the zip again, but I get a black screen. Doesn't go away until I hold the power button for 15 seconds. Rebooted to fastboot, flashed TWRP recovery image. Same result, black screen when booting into recovery. Is there something I'm doing wrong? It's usable but I'd really like root....
