Hi all,
I made a dumb move and installed the CM11 port for my T320 without backing up my Samsung stock firmware. (I'd post over in the appropriate thread in the development section, but I haven't posted here frequently enough to be allowed over there). I want to go back to the Samsung UI for now because I am having some troubles with CM11 ... my tablet thinks it's a phone, so I'm not getting the tablet features and app versions. Plus something is off with my screen so that some apps (Flipboard, at least) runs everything off the right side and bottom of the screen. Anyway, does anyone have an idea of how to get me back to my Samsung UI? I can't get Kies to talk to my tablet (another thing that cropped up with this CM build) so I can't get that to reflash it for me.
I have downloaded an Odin-flashable Samsung stock firmware from Australia (I'm in the US) so I'm guessing that will work, but I'd rather find an easier option before I give my tablet a globetrotting split identity disorder or something.
Please understand, I've rooted, reflashed, and even unbricked devices before, so I'm not new to this, just made a dumb mistake.
I believe that is the only way to go. The good news is you can install twrp recovery now so it shouldnt be an issue again. Bad news is there isnt a flashable stock firmware that I know of yet. Im kinda hoping for cleanrom as he did a hell of a job on the note 3 and knows the system better than most.

I've used Samsung Kies from my PC several time to go back to stock.
When using Kies you may have to switch your connection from MTP to the other option and of course check debug.
I went back and forth from CM11 several time plus I did what you did also except I used the New Zealand version
Here's what I did to restore stock from Kies.
Plug in the tablet, open Kies, and click Tools then Firmware upgrade and initialization. Type in SM-T320, hit okay, then add your serial number.
Basically just follow the steps it asks you and make sure your tablet is in download mode. It will download the stock firmware image and flash it to the device.
My instructions might now be 100% accurate, but that's basically the process I took to restore it to factory.

smart scrolling ???
Hello ,
I flashed Hyperdrive+RLS3 after wipe data/cache/dalvik cache ,
with hope that smart scroll will work , but it's not working at all, apart from flashing eye in notification panel.
Please solve that problem some how ....
By the way nice work on rom :good: and .
Missing Lock Settings?
To begin, I am reporting a (possible) bug for Hyperdrive RLS3 on my SM-P600 on TWRP 2.7.0.2. I have verified the md5 on my zip prior to each flash. I have been able to replicate/repeat this "bug" on multiple installs (where I have fully/cleanly wiped the device each time).
I've found that my lock screen security detailed options are forever set to those for "swipe" regardless of what I have chosen for my lock screen security option. Even if I set a pattern, pin, password, etc. lock, the options below are always set to those as if I had chosen "swipe" as my lockscreen setting. The lock option that I am selecting still works, but I am unable to see or tweak any of the specific settings associated with each of the particular lock screen security options (e.g. I am unable to toggle the visibility of my pattern, as this option doesn't appear, if I choose the "pattern" lock option. However, the device still asks me for a pattern to unlock with). I can only ever see/modify the "swipe options" such as the "unlock effect", "ink effect", etc.
Is anyone else having this problem too?
Good day all, I just installed rls3 and everything is working fine so far except the penwindow/multi window manager. Adding the apps I want follwed by saving and rebooting does not do anything for me? Anybody have the same issue or am I not doing to correctly?

Observed, I will look into it and hopefully fix
Latest Netflix Working
I have installed RLS3.1 and Netflix v.3.7.1 is working fine for me…no xposed module and no version rollback.
Here are a few of the choices I made when installing Hyperdrive. Maybe this information can help the developer or other users figure out where the problem with signing in is (or isn’t).
I steered clear of many of the eye candy options simply due to personal preference.
I mainly use Hyperdrive for the fixes, battery life and speed compared to stock.
Full system wipe through TW…not just data/cache.
Hyperdrive TW Note 10.1 Launcher
Hyperdrive Light Note Pro UI
Very few of the Samsung apps (Dropbox, Font Pack, Link, STranslate)
No Weather Widget
No Email App (I use K-9)
No Audio Mod
Stock Note Boot Animation
Ad Blocking
ES File Manager (even though I use X-plore)
Very few Google AOSP (Maps, Youtube, Camera)
Samsung Music Player
No additional keyboard (I use Dashlane’s)
Tubemate
Stock 4.4 Kernel
Once set up I installed Nova Launcher, TiBu, Lux and Greenify.
I also used ROM Toolbox to edit build.prop product model entry to say SM-P600 instead of SM-T800.
The only HD Tweaks are show Network Traffic, Date Style, Battery Style, and Ink Effect.
The only xposed modules active are App Settings, Greenify, and NlpUnbounce.
That’s about it for system related apps/settings.
I hope this helps.
Not certain but that change might have fixed netflix app for me.
I made the change, rebooted, cleared the app cache and i could sign in. I couldn't before.

That's good to know. If that is, in fact, the fix then it's a heck of a lot easier for folks to implement than re-wiping and selecting different system mods.
I hope some other Hyperdrive folks that are having problems with Netflix try this out as well. I'm also wondering if maybe the model number mismatch is causing some app or system issues that only seem to affect certain people and not others with otherwise the exact same configuration.
wake up problem
Everything works totally fine except wake up it takes 5-8 sec ... can u please help

Thanks for your support!
Not sure if it's a kernel or rom issue but I'm on hyperdrive 3.0 with xluco and I bought this dual flashdrive:
Kingston Digital 64GB Data Traveler Micro Duo USB 3.0 Micro USB OTG (DTDUO3/64GB) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LIXJ54K/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_uVaqub148TMN0
Which works perfect on my S4 with KK, it gets detected without problems by the SM-P600 but I cannot explore with either My Files or ES Explorer, it gives me a systemui FC.
Anybody else can test?

Hyperdrive ROM, Pen window manager not working
So I installed Hyperdrive rom RLS 3.1 for my sm-p600, problem is that the pen window manager app is not working, I select my app (MX video player) in the options of pen window manager to enable it in pen mode but after restarting it still does not show up when i try to edit the apps available for pen windows using the s-pen
Edit: I fixed it, problem was that I have a separate app for the pen window manager that I restored using titanium backup. I uninstalled it in the play store and used the native pen window manager via the Hyperdrive rom tweak app..
wiped to reinstall: cmd adb cant locate the device
I may seem like it, but im not a noob... long story short, Im dealing with a TBI, so im a bit rusty.
I have a sm-p600, flashed Chain fire with, installed nandroid and backed everything up, flashed 4.4.2 firmware with odin. I flashed twrp recovery and sideloaded hyperdrive custom rom via adb.
Everything was great, excellent rom! I had a few issues with it, mainly touchWiz would crash if I tried to change the lock screen wallpaper via pressing and holding the home screen. Also, settings would also randomly crash as well. I did some research through the forums and came to the conclusion that I might have messed up on selecting the options during installation (something with the launcher). SOOOO, my dumb a** attempts to re-install the rom. I factory reset, wiped, and cleaned the whole thing with bleach ( metaphorically aka twrp). I reboot in TWRP recovery, go to advanced--->sideload--->... then my win 7 pc fails to install the MTP drivers. I reboot, replug, "overlap drivers", get it to detect, but adb cant detect the device. So, I bust open ctrl panel uninstall the samsung drivers, adp drivers, and pdanet; then, i reinstalled different drivers that i found from another thread and i cant detect the device from cmd adb commands.
I think it might be a usb debugging issue, because if everything was left constant as far as drivers go and it was wiped, the issue must be occurring on the tablet.
I forgot about that thought when I woke up and messed around with the drivers downloading universal drivers and what not. Device manager now recognizes the device as google nexus adb interface but cmd adb still cant find the device.
Please help!

Thank you

Sorry to double post, but can I just throw hyperdrive rom on a external sd and flash threw twrp? or do I have to download stock 4.4.2 firmware flash with odin, rootcheck/reroot, and sideload hyperdrive rom via sideload if it detects after the firmware flash?

I was rooted, but im not 100% sure I still am after i did the advance wipe. Twrp asks if I want to install super su right before I reboot, so I assume I am. I'm not exactly sure what you did and what your symptoms are, but I personally did a twrp advance wipe including the internal storage which was where my rom was located. As a result, the tablet is soft bricked b/c it doesnt have an OS.
You can use odin to AP/PDA flash the stock firmware, but it HAS to be the same firmware build version of your device before the brick occurred. AKA bricked on 4.4.2 custom kitkat, then flash stock 4.4.2 kitkat via odin. Just make sure the software is for your device and country before installing.(http://www.galaxynote3update.com/fi...-the-unbrick-and-recovery-guide-just-for-you/).
Here's a helpful link that you might find useful: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2608951
My question is: can I just flash the custom rom back onto the device or do I have to flash the orignal firmware?
Install on Note Pro
Hi I have the 12.2 Note Pro and was wondering if this ROM will work on it?
Hello,
my Samsung Galaxy S4 mini stutters / lags when scrolling. This appears in every app, systems setting, when scrolling in a browser or a menu or just going through the home screens (original TouchWiz). But games are running smoothly and also videos / youtube are free from stuttering.
So this is not a very big problem, but its making the use of the device not as enjoyable as before. To be honest: Its really annoying.
Some information about the devices / firmwares history:
- Bought the device originally from a market (not branded by a service provider) with stock ROM and Android 4.2.2.
- Used the phone for some months in its original condition. Not rooted, not removed TouchWiz, no custom kernels, etc. Everything was fine.
- Some weeks before the phone offers me the update to Android 4.4.2. Update was executed without any problem. Still no stuttering.
- Because of the new permissions for SD-cards in 4.4.2 I rooted the phone with towelroot and used "NextApp SDFix". No stuttering, SD-card ok.
- For backup purposes I installed Titanium backup (after SuperSU and BusyBox). Everythings fine.
- But some days later, without a clear reason, the stuttering / lags occurs and is there since then. Rebooting does not help.
What I have tried:
- Removed all newly installed apps.
- Temporarily unrooted, temporarily removed SuperSU, temporarily removed BusyBox.
Nothing helped.
Then I had done a factory reset. The phone started up like a newly bought device with Android 4.4.2. But still with lags / stuttering when scrolling!
A question to all the Pro's here:
- Which information can I tell you about the phone to give you a better view of the problem?
- May it be a problem in the kernel - so that changing the kernel would help?
I am also thinking about installing CyanogenMod, but if not necessary I would like to avoid it. I am happy with the look and feel of the stock ROM (I am simply used to it) - apart from the stuttering.

No, I have not tried that. So you would suggest the following (just to be sure to understand you correctly):
- Do a full backup with Titanium backup (for example).
- Get the stock ROM containing the Samsung flavour of Android 4.4.2 for Galaxy S4 mini.
- Flashing the device with Odin.
- Rooting again with towelroot, installing SuperSU and BusyBox.
- Install Titanium backup and restore my apps and settings.
Is this right?

Don't know if it will help, but it's not much effort and at least it will not hurt.
Full backup should not be necessary (data partition will not get wiped - if you do no factory reset), but is always recommended before flashing firmware.
Very important is that you will be flashing exactly the same stock firmware (with same CSC) as currently installed. In that case no data should get lost, no Knox tripped and so forth.
But as you mentioned, you will have to re-root (Towelroot + SuperSU) and run SDFix.
Thank you very much for your help and all these informations!

On sammobile.com is just one ROM for Galaxy s4 mini containing Android 4.4.2, for my language, without carrier branding. So I suggest this is the right one...
Or are there any other ways how to additionally check if its the right stock firmware? Sorry for these questions, but I dont want to run into problems just because I picked the wrong firmware...

"Phone INFO ★Samsung★" is a nice app to check the phone status, it will show for instance CSC and firmware details.
From your information in the OP you run the same firmware as I do (the file name of my download was 'I9195XXUCNE6_I9195OXACNE6_I9195XXUCNE6_HOME.tar.md5').

Thats great, thank you! I compared the informations provided by this app with the firmware on sammobile.com and its identically. So I will download the firmware now and flash it to the device (after the backup is ready).
I will keep you updated if the stuttering is away then!
In the meantime: Thank you very much for your help!
Finally I flashed the current stock firmware via Odin again. After flashing, the phone booted up correctly (in a non-rooted condition, of course).
But the problem is still present: When scrolling through any apps, lists or even the home screens, the movement stutters.
Are there any other things to check in order to get rid of this? A factory reset (done before) also achieved no improvement. That's really weird...

I have tried this now:
- Removing the SD card
- Removing the SIM
- Used another battery without NFC
- Temporarily used a CPU tuner app and switched the CPU temporarily to highest level.
But the problem is still present.
Additionally I found another new problem beside of the stuttering:
- Two heavily used apps doesnt react anymore and needed to be started again (Threema Messenger and Viber messenger). Seems like the system was under high load / low RAM and stopped the apps. But RAM consumption of the device is moderate.
- In YouTube sometimes videos are shown in a damaged way and just in black/white. After restarting the video it is shown correctly.
Im thinking of two last chances:
- Is there a way to create log files of the system and is there somebody who is able to find the problem seeing these logs?
- Or the last way: Switching to another ROM. In this case I can not use the backups created by Titanium, right?

With regards to your second question:
Of course you can restore user apps and related data from one ROM to another. And for instance contacts, SMS and call logs can be saved and restored with MyPhoneExplorer. Restoring data of system apps may work but may cause issues.
Ok! Thank you very much for your help!
Hello Community,
I am new here and would like to install a custom rom onto my Note 10.1 2014 Wifi Only.
The main reason why I want to do that is because I would like to use of the side button of the S-Pen in my apps (mainly Squid). Is that possible?
If so, where do I start? I would like to try this ROM is it appropriate for my needs?
Code:
[lt03wifi][P600][ROM][CM13.0][6.0.1]Temasek's UNOFFICIAL Builds [Almost Daily]
I previously tried to root my device but i guess that failed. So now I cant do any updates anymore. I think I also tried to Install TWRP but when I boot to recovery it gives me the standard Android system recovery telling me it couldnt mount /data/. Is that a problem? And what TWRP will I need to install the latest ROM?
This is whats on my device:
Model: SM P600
Android version: 4.4.2
Kernel Version 3.4.29.2612580
Buildnumber: KOT49H.P600XXUCNH3
Thank you for reading my post and thanks in advance,

Hi and welcome,
I'm not sure what it is you're looking for with the side button? Generally, the implementation of the s-pen is a bit more complete in Samsung's own Touchwiz ROMs. You can get a decent experience with the s-pen in ROMs like the temasek ROM you posted, but you won't get all the functions you have in Touchwiz (and you might to have to install some extra apps).
The info about TWRP should be in the thread for @joshndroid's temasek ROM that you refer to, including the appropriate downloads. Not sure what happened to your /data partition, but if you can still boot into Touchwiz, you should be fine and could just flash TWRP again.
So I can just take the latest TWRP and flash it? The Samsung ROM just catches the signal of the sidebutton before any app can fetch it. Im looking for a way to make that accessible because some apps use the button but these functions never work.

Yes, I would think so. You just need to find the proper format for Odin, I think that's tar.md5 if I remember correctly? At some point the newer TWRP versions were only available as img, but in that case you can flash a slightly older version (I think 2.8.6 was definitely working) and then flash the newer version directly from TWRP.
If the Samsung specific functions of the spen are interfering with what you want to do, AOSP or CM ROMs should indeed solve your problem, as they don't have those Samsung features. There are some apps to get some of that working, but if you essentially want to get rid of these functions in favour of your other apps, I suspect you should be fine.
I have flashed LineageOS on my old Samsung Galaxy S6 phone and I like it a lot. But I want this ROM on my Tablet and I want everything to be working.
WiFi
Bluetooth
Front Camera
Back Camera
Software Buttons (Apps, Home, Back)

I could not find any official builds nor any unofficial builds of LineageOS for this device. Has anyone successfully flashed this ROM on the Tab S4 without GAPPS and it works like a charm? I have the SM-T830 model.
Any success?

I have not tried it yet since it is an expensive tablet and I do not want to screw it up. I did more research and I heard it can be buggy with LineageOS
I plan on flashing my phone this fall when my contract expires and I could care less if it bricks my phone then but I want my tablet to last at least 5 years and I would like my tablet to be De-Googled with LineageOS and no GAPPs.

Hi mate,
I've been playing with this tablet for a while and I thing I have messed it up in every different way you can imagine. At one point with Odin I even flashed the BL bit to the AP and AP to BL. There I thought that's it, it didn't even bring up TWRP or anything after that. With the button combination you can get to download mode if the USB is plugged in. I believe there is no way you can overwrite the "download-mode" bit so you can get in there always, no matter what you do. This meant that I could flash the original stock stuff back onto the tablet. So don't worry, you cant mess it up.

Bumping this post. Also looking for lineageos for the samsung galaxy tab s4.
Hoping to get mine this week - I know you can flash any Treble based image, but will the Spen still work on other roms?
No luck so far getting anything to boot - just gets stuck on the logo
Lineage 16 works fine, haven't test everything, but it boots super quickly and the camera and even spen work.

Hey, Thanks for this I installed it and ran it for about a day and it was pretty cool and worked . However it is unstable and is pretty much a ticking time bomb and I cannot recommend this to anybody wanting a stable ROM for their Tab S4. If you're looking for a good stable ROM go check out WETA it has great modifications and is kept up to date. That being said these are the following problems I had using this GSI.
List of things broken or not working
- Screen Locks (Any Pin,Pattern or Password will cause the UI to bootloop)
- Speakers (Only two of the four speakers will work causing audio to be low.)
- Root Access (Root only worked for a select set of apps.)
- Digital Wellbeing
- Unable to fully complete setup. (I.E Android Setup will often crash)
- Incorrect Battery Levels Shown
Im sure there are other things that do not work but these are what I primarily experienced.
Part of the problem of not having anyone who is willing to develop a custom rom for this device - being stuck with crappy stock samsung.
I have wondered if there would be enough interest to warrant setting up a pool for a developer to get something fully working - I'd certainly be willing to donate.

Agreed, I would be willing to donate a bit as well. Saddens me to see LOS for the S3 and S5e but not for the S4. Hopefully one day that will change.
You may want to test this one out as well -

I ended up with a shutdown issue after every boot, if that happens to you then just wipe the data partition.
I only know so far that it has an issue with the brightness, haven't tested anything else yet.
I tried installing LineageOS 16 and 17 using arm64-a, but I always end with bootloop. There is some extra step I must do?
For now I done:
- Installing latest firmware version
- Installing TWRP
- Installing image.
- Format Data + Factory Reset.
Thanks!

I'm not sure if it will work on android 10 gsi rom, just try it...
Even if it works, many things may not work on this device. There will definitely be many errors... Gl

Thanks! Yeah, seems like my failure was related to encryption. GSI really dislikes encryption on our S4 Tab, you can't even set a screenlock, as an exception happens from the CryptoProvider.
