LG G4 H815 Bootloop after flashing SuperSU.. - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
yesterday I finally get my bootloader unlocked and I wanted to root my device, flash custom recovery and then flash CM13..¨
I found guide to root android 6.0 because I´m v20a, everything was fine, I booted to recovery via cmd command: fastboot boot recovery_image.img, but I forget to flash kernel and flashed only SuperSU and rebooted. After that I have a bootloop, adb not recognize my phone and LG Flash tool crashes with note: Required data not found. Contact your administrator..
I don´t know what I should do, please help me anybody.. :fingers-crossed:
PS: Sorry for my bad English I´m from Czech Republic..

Hello
Poweroff the phone.
Use key to start in Fastboot (Press Up and power button, release up button for 1-2 sec when LG logo appear and then push it again) and install the recover : fastboot flash recovery_image.img.
Start in recovery and flash CM13, you don't have to root the phone before doing this.
Regards.

same thing happened to me here
h811
flashed cm13
worked ok.. then flashed SUpersu via twrp
( and later found out that cm13 dont need supersu as it is already rooted )
Dumb A... of me!!
now i am in a boot loop cm13
i only see the cm13 boot animation.. and stuck there
phone wont take the :
Poweroff the phone.
Use key to start in Fastboot (Press Up and power button, release up button for 1-2 sec when LG logo appear and then push it again) and install the recover : fastboot flash recovery_image.img.
any clues... fastboot says wating for device...
i mean when i do the key combination
i still boot get in to the bootloop

fixed it
my phone did the same today, laptop wouldn't recognize phone after bootlooping.. I went to control panel, uninstalled the lg mobile usb drivers, then reinstalled the older drivers rom the internet .. lg up then immediately recognized my phone whilst connected in download mode I hit upgrade and flashed the kdz file.. and I now have a factory reset fully functional g4 hope this helps.

The command you have used is not a flash, it is only a boot into the twrp recovery, twrp will work than,
but nothing is flashed and so after reboot ther is no twrp.
Shut down phone, connect it to your pc, put it on, when adp is detected enter : adb reboot bootloader
than flash/boot into twrp and reflash
Have you tried a fac reset/wipe?
For Hardware Reset:
turn off the device
press and hold the power and the vol- key
release power key when the lg logo is displayed (holding the vol - key)
immediately press power key (you should still press the Vol - button)
when in the factory reset menu folloe the onscreen instrucions to wipe it

G4 stuck on boot loop (maybe wrong SuperSu, no download mode)

Hello everyone i tryed to search similar issues in the forum but i only found this thread without solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/h815-stuck-bootloop-download-mode-t3235362
My G4 stucks on boot loop and i cannot reach bootloader mode or recovery.
I updated to M then i decided to unlock the bootloader.
Then I try to install twrp. Via fastboot flash command twrp doesn't seem to get installed. So i try to boot in twrp and then install the img to the recovery partition. All seemed to go fine. When i try to reboot to recovery twrp ask me to root the device. Why not? I leave twrp installs superSu (I think this was my mistake). Now I've a continuous bootloop, even if I simply plug it to the charger. Vol down + Power buttons neither vol up + power doesn't work.
Sorry for bad english
Yep.. You shouldn't have selected the built in version..
Copy an updated SuperSU.zip file onto a spare SD Card and slot it into the Phone.
Reboot into TWRP and install the new SuperSU.zip from the SDCard..
Are you able to boot TWRP? Of yes, take Hostilians advice.
Are you unable to boot TWRP? Enter download mode ( unplug device-> hold down Volume + -> plug device) and install a fresh OS using LGUP.

Hi
I have same situation. After SuperSu zip installation my G4 stuck on boot loop. Can somebody explain a little bit this procedure? I don't know how install a fresh OS and don't know what is a LGUP.
I found another link over Internet but...I'm not sure: rootmygalaxy.net/unbrick-lg-g4-with-lg-flash-tool
I don't have any way to enter into TWRP because as I say G4 is stucked and adb command don't work.
Any help appreciated

Follow this instructions here... although it doesn't tell you how to use it with your device in download mode! Anyways... is very easy to do it.
First install LGUP_8994_DLL_Ver_0_0_3_23 them LGUP. Plug in your device (you will notice that it doesn`t recognize your device, no worries) Unplug device, shut down, hold Volume + and plug device. It will enter download mode. Now go to LGUP click upgrade and choose your .kdz. Easy.
Cheers!

G4 bricked after trying to instal SU - Help

Hi guys!
I really need your help. Few days ago i had installed Cm 14.1 and everything was fine (i had unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP, rooted the phone) yesterday night i wanted to install SU so i downloaded the .zip, logged in recovery ..and by choosing "install" i flashed the zip ..but after the restart from twrp the cell didnt work anymore , the little cm alien face is always loading. I tried to to get in bootloader mode by pressing the power button and volume down then relasing it and pressing it again but nothing happens. I got in download mode , connected the phone to the pc (after having installed the drivers) but i always get the message "waiting for device" when i try to get into recovery (bootloader recovery command ..well just because bootloader devices doesnt show me any phone connected) . So actually i dunno how to get in bootloader mode and make windows to see it. Any help would be really appreciated.
i add that i worked on a recovery loaded with fastboot command from windows so i didnt really installed it on the g4 even if i copied the img file on the sd card. Therefore i need to get into bootloader mode in order to send fastboot commands again
Thnx

I killed my watch

1 week ago i bought in china the watch .i dont know Chinese and i was just there for business so i thought that when i will connect to my phone it will automatically change to English but that never happend . So i tried several threads in xda to understand how it is working and what can i do . And i followed the thread that says to flash another system img recovery and boot . So i first unlocked the bootloader and booted on it and i flash the images and tried to reboot to recovery but already the recovey option in the bootloader is missing i get only shutdown , reboot , reboot bootloader , so i thought that i haven't correct flash the recovery.img so i flash it again but still the same . I also tried twrp recoveries and other recoveries that i found in other threads but still the same i can only boot to bootloader and nothing else . Has any one had the same problem and fixed it ? And if not were can i find the stock chinese firmware to try to flash it maybe it will come back to life .. thanks in advance
Have you tried using adb and fastboot commands?
Ex::
adb reboot-bootloader (for bootloader)
adb push xxxxxxx.img or xxxxxxx.zip /sdcard/ (for transfer files to sdcard)
adb push recovery.img /sdcard/ (for transfer yours custom recovery - i recommend the latest 3.1.1.0 because the others have some bugs)
after that boot to recovery: fastboot boot recovery.img (personally i never tried to flash the recovery but just boot it, baut it works)
from recovery just install the files that you have transferred earlier to sdcard (oh, and prior that erase everything except internal memory, or that toot but you have to transfer your files again)
ex: install zip (i recommend negalite) after that install kernel (negalite too) and install performance or battery booster .
Oh, after kernel install, it will automatically reboot, so you have to repeat the process to install the booster.
Reboot.
p.s. - the reboot process take LOOONG, so wait patiently.
Hope i could help you.

If you want to enter the bootloader, to choose, where u want to reboot and you are stuck:
Hold the button on your watch...hold it, till you feel the first vibration after the restart at the HUAWEI-Logo. Then, press the button once again (Its just timing).
It should show you your bootloader and you can restart into recovery or wherever you want.
Hope I could help :highfive:

Need little bit help with bricked Note 8 Pro

Hi everyone,
I got Chinese version Note 8 Pro from Mi official store and unlocked bootloader after 7 days.
I downloaded Global MIUI 11 ROM via official miui download link, "ifelixit+FLASHER+TOOLKIT+Begonia" and installed ADB drivers etc.
After run ifelixit+FLASHER+TOOLKIT+Begonia.bat and pick 1, it installed recovery, then I'm able to boot into TWRP, and then I installed global rom from there, meanwhile wiped everything in it as I don't need China version rom. Phone reboot well and new global rom works great.
Then I try to install Magisk, I noticed recovery seems be restored to original, no worries, I re-run ifelixit+FLASHER+TOOLKIT+Begonia.bat and pick 1 to install TWRP again. Whatever I did, I cannot get TWRP back, when I hold power/+, it keep blank and will restart, but if I don't hold them, it can get into the system.
My first question is: 1. At this stage, is recovery crash already?
I didn't think too much and I get into system, install Magisk manager, let it to patch boot.img, I then use following command in fastboot mode
fastboot flash boot boot_patch.img
After I finished, I noticed maybe I can do TWRP here as well, then I also input
fastboot flash boot TWRP.img
After reboot, the phone is dead....No fastboot, NO recovery, no vibration. exactly described as here
[UNBRICK - stuck on DA mode / Authorised Service Account required]
https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...ide-unbrick-stuck-da-mode-authorised-t4000433
I re-think what I did, my question is
2. Will boot_patch.img Magisk patched not suitable for China phone with global rom?
3. Is fastboot dead because I installed recovery into boot via fastboot flash boot TWRP.img?
Thanks for your time and appreciated for any knowledgeable reply.
Flash your original boot.img for your original firmware or just download the xiaomitoolV2 and flash it that way. I see a lot of people flashing stock firmware using TWRP. Hence the v2 tool only works if your phone still fully boots. NOTE do not flash stock FW or UPDATE using TWRP you will brick the device. Chances are your FW didn't flash and just ADB CMD fatsboot flash boot ( then set BOOT.IMG ) in the CMD and get the devices booting again. Then use the V2 tool to flash the global firmware get that to stick then use the ifelixit tool to flash recovery once in recovery go advanced file mgr system-root at the bottom delete boot P then close AVB 2.0 then hit the install root button SU - magisk 19.4 will be installed. no need to wipe or format the phone ( DON'T FORGET TO WIPE CACHE & DALVIC.

Remove the back off the phone and disconnect the battery for 5 min just to be sure hold the power button to clear all power left in the phone. Main objective is to get useage again fastboot or recovery. If you get recovery sideload your boot img and flash it on the next reboot twrp will be overridden.

I also have two bricked phones note 8 pro with no recovery, only white led shows when connecting via USB.
First bricked with TWRP and then flashed with false boot.img, second is bricked with OrangeFox-Unofficial-begonia.img.
I was open back case and disconnect the battery, stay 3 days but nothing working to reboot to fastboot or recovery.
Also I have already tried with short circuit test point to EDL mode but phone is still dead. I have downloaded many xiaomi and other tools and firmwares, installed all available usb drivers and reading all internet forums.
Please help!
Same
Hello,
I think I did the same error, flashing a wrong boot.img...
I tell you if I manage to do something.
hello, the solution to the problem is the battery is completely discharged until the device stops responding to any attempts to start using the key combination. unless you tried to flash a fastboot partition. the solution works after hard bricking after trying to upload incompatible twrp or other rom (I uploaded Chinese twrp on eu rom). ok, we start:
1. holding vol - and power plug in the usb cable (the buttons are released when the notification LED changes from very bright for a moment to slightly dimmed)
2. you will see the long unseen battery symbol with a lightning inside (i.e. a completely discharged battery, the charge status will begin to show the percentage)
3. Turn off the USB cable at 3 percent.
4. now an important thing - you need to start the phone only trying to enter the fastboot mode otherwise the phone will start to boot the system and get stuck again and you will have to unload it again
5. you will finally enter the fastboot , using only the software from xiaomi or xiaomi flash and fastboot rom
I succeeded after 2 weeks of waiting for it to discharge ...
I copied this tutorial from this partner klocek80 , and it worked perfectly

I'm with you. The boot image has error and when MTK realize it has something wrong it will NOT enter into fastboot. The only way to fix this is too use SP Flash Tool for deep flash. Mi store uses this way as well to fix the issue.
Try this:

I didn`t find any background on your issue, just something like you actually have a device with white led light blinking.
I read this thread before (yes, some weeks ago) this happened to me yesterday https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-8-pro/how-to/guide-unlock-note-8-pro-authorised-t4168805 the short story is that I were trying to return to Miui 12 after of using some custom ROMs and something in the flashing process failed I mean it was an incomplete flashing and I assumed that most probably just the bootloader partition was damaged. The whole important fact in this situation is that you have yet available fastboot mode but like the splash partition with its image was gone I couldn `t see it and I were anyway in fastboot mode so I could flash the proper files to "unbrik" it. (my device is unlocked)
What you should try is connect it with PC while you`re pressing the volume down, enter to adb/fastboot environment and type fastboot commands to see if device is recogniced, you don`t have to hear constant reboot sounds or in this case press the power button simulating that you are powering off device.
