While nothing is set in stone about the HTC One M10 (except that there will be one this Spring/Summer), EvLeaks just dropped some information, including:
According to EvLeaks, this is what it looks like from the front. (Imgur link; Twitter in source 3.)
It's going by the name HTC Perfume, which is believed to be released as HTC One M10
It's running HTC Sense 8 and Android 6.0.1
5.1" QHD (1440p) AMOLED screen
Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage
23GB of internal storage available for use; microSD card slot available
12-Ultrapixel camera on the back with OIS (laser focus). Fingerprint reader on the front. No word on IR blaster. No Boomsound, no front-facing speakers
Won't be shown at Mobile World Congress next month. It'll have its own announcement
[Source] [source] [source]
M8 users, will you stay with HTC?
If theres no front facing stereo speakers, i hope to they should place speakers to top and bottom on device. Thats why i buy htc. Otherwise, i'll go on Sony.
I'm curious if the leaked details will pan out, but I'm not holding much hope. Might have to go nexus

Unlocked version allowed on all major carriers (Verizon/ATT/Tmobile/Sprint) and I'm sold... Preferably around $600 mark. So we don't have to wait crazy long times for software updates/security patches.
Carrier locked devices have gotten to me lately, especially with new rate of googles security patches. It's insane how long it's taking us to even get a marshmallow release date... let alone get marshmallow.
But simply talking about hardware itself, and leaving the software out of the equation, HTC has the best designs in my opinion.
Bought my M8 on contract so I can't do anything until December anyways.
But...
Definitely whatever phone I get will have dual front facing speakers. Speakers on the back or bottom just suck once you've lived with dual front facing speakers.
I've head a lot of headaches with my M8, mostly being the keyboard disappearing two to three times a day (messenger+, G+, Whatsapp, Chrome) which requires a reboot to fix. I've tried different keyboards, still happens.
Every time Android System Webview updates something goes wrong, sometimes I lose my keyboard, sometimes things stop opening, a few times it was WiFi. Uninstalling it and reinstalling it fixes the issue with an additional reboot.
Its not just me, the brother in law and my sister both have M8s as well, same issues, both have exchanged their phones multiple times.
Now HTC has done wonderful with the brother in law's M8 customer service and replaced his phone twice, once when it overheated and the screen warped, once when it bent. They didn't fight with him, they just sent him new phones and he said he loves their customer service but finds the phone way too buggy for his tastes and wants to go back to Samsung when his contract is up. Same with the sister.
I loved HTC when I bought my first Android, an EVO. That thing worked like a dream and the 3rd day I owned it I was in a car accident and it flew out of my shirt pocked and stuck a half inch into the dashboard. Seriously, Amazing phone.
I WANT to stick with HTC, but unless they start fixing their buggy software I'm going to be heading out as well. Project Fi and a Nexus might be in my future.
I'm going to be really bummed by the lack of Boomsound speakers. Every time I show my friend's a video on my M8 they remark how great the sound is with the stereo front facing speakers. It was one of the major differences that set HTC above the rest, including Apple. I think the iPhone's mono bottom speaker is awful TBH.
I'll probably upgrade to the M10 though, even with this downgrade. I'm really looking forward to the fingerprint unlock. I wish HTC could solve the "wireless charging through metal body" issue though. I can't believe my DNA could do that in 2012 while the M10 can't in 2016.

Still has dual speakers.
Bottom one is just on the bottom edge instead of the face.
Sound is still very nice...!

Boomsound? Do you think they'll remain development friendly as well? I remember a time when Samsung was open and easy to work with, now I guess Knox prevents boot if you're rooted. At least on Verizon.

I had the m7 and really loved that phone, I also had the m8 and wasn't quite so fussed on it. I skipped on the m9 and went for the Nexus 6. One of my favourite phones of all time, bar the HTC HD2!!! I am really thinking about coming back to HTC. The 10 looks awesome!
First post with "What we know" could maybe be updated with latest news and details about the HTC 10
What's the latest on water resistance? none, 50% chance, 80%, 90%?
Spend a lot of time near water, so this is a must (and no, not interested in bulky waterproof case). Currently on Galaxy S5, just got the S7, but the locked BL is a big turnoff. Hoping 10 will be a home run - with some IP6x rating and camera that can match or better the S7.
I'd like to see a "maybe, depending how it actually turns out" option. I cancelled our AT&T S7 Edge orders due to the locked bootloaders. If HTC keeps its openness, I may pick up another one.
But I can't say yes or no until I see how it actually shakes out.
New #powerof10 tweet says "Here comes the new boom. You’ll hear it. #powerof10" via HTC USA. Wonder if this pretty much puts the "no boomsound" thing to rest?

So I have never considered the S3 before, but I have two weeks left to replace my One X (Second One X with dodgy compass) and I am wondering whether to just give up and ask for a S3 instead.
First of all let me say that I LOVE the One X, and the better screen and sleeker looks are more than enough for me to pick it over the S3 with it's otherwise stronger specs - were it not for the faults with the device.
Build quality is iffy, and I have had two HOXes now, both of which have had dodgy gps which just don't work (they show me spinning around on the spot and moving around rapidly on the map when I am standing still). But perhaps getting another replacement would fix that.
But that isn't all. The fact that wi-fi turns off when the phone goes into stand-by is a huuge inconvenience, as I have to keep on interacting with the phone whenever I am down/uploading a large file, so it doesn't stop half way through. I shouldn't have to do this.
Also, the multi-tasking is pretty awful and doesn't seem to have been coded well at all.
Now my question is, do you guys foresee these problems being sorted out in the not-too-distant future, or are you considering switching over to the S3 as well? Also, do you expect the S3 to have similar problems when it comes out?
I just want to reiterate that I love this phone and really don't want to slag it off, but the combined problems are really getting me down, and I don't think an expensive top-end mobile should should be so flawed.
TY for any thoughts and opinions in advance.
EDIT: Ok well. Two of the biggest problems I had with the One X seem to have been solved already.
First of all, the 1.29.0.11 (??) patch has apparently fixed multi-tasking.
Also, some genius has managed to show me a fix for the wi-fi turning off when the phone is in standby.

I tried this out, and my phone's wifi now stays connected even when the screen is turned off!! Woop!!!!
Still leaves the factor of a dodgy GPS, but I am more than happy to get a replacement HOX as the other main problems have been alleviated
Same question for me. I got 2nd one atm and still got probs with it. Like the GPS like you, gap on the side, WiFi turnin off....... I like this thing and I want it workin but now I'm in the role that I could change to another device on Vodafone Germany because its getting the 3rd replacement. I don't know what to do too... Greetz

Yes.
But even if it stayed on until the download was finished, that wouldn't be OK in my opinion.
I am for at least 12 months. As much as the lack of s-off is annoying it isn't the deal breaker so long as HTC are releasing pretty regular updates for the bugs found. As far as my devices build quality is concerned I have no problems. Just not worth using htcdev until half way through my contract risking the loss of warranty.
The device itself should entertain me as is for 12 months. Hunting S-OFF is a side attraction until then post that date root via htcdev will see me the latter half of the contract by keeping me interested.
Sticking with One X for now unless something real enticing comes. SGS3 was a disappointment IMO. Maybe the Sony GX or the next Nexus I'll upgrade. Maybe even iPhone 5
SGS3 has multitasking problems also according to a reviewer/user if we're talking about the same problem.
Wi-Fi should be fixed, One S had it fixed I believe.
I personally haven't run into wi-fi problems recently. For a a little while when running a new build of ARHD, I all of a sudden got the wi-fi problems ppl were talking about. Didn't have the problems before that. Switched over to LeeDroid and haven't run into the wi-fi problem since.
You can set a longer screen off time when downloading, also I'm sorry to say I don't have the same problems :/

as much as i hate to say this i am undecided as well..now if my carrier comes back to me and they say i can replace my handset then i will go for the s3. now do not get me wrong i love my one x. but at the same time with all the issues going on kinda puts me off. hence how do i know i will not get another dodgy one..if they say they can only repair it then i will hold off sending it as it is still fully functional and were i have the creaking i stuck a case over it and it has stopped for now..so it goes like this
replace it for me then i am going for the s3
if they say no then one x it is and still a great device and i have recommended it to a few of my friends and hoping they get a good batch

im selling mine when i borrow a camera for pics. i made a mistake leaving Samsung. i might get the nexus though. Google wallet might actually work. i have never seen so many duplicate threads, clueless users, and mods choosing when to enforce rules and when not to.
I'm selling mine as soon as it comes back from HTC, should be a brand new one. I won't open it and will sell it straight away and buy a S3.

Yeah it is pretty nasty looking isn't it! I also don't like the idea of having 16gb base memory even if it is expandable. I much prefer the 32gb internal memory of the One X over Micro SD as it is so much quicker - and I dont need to fork out even more money for an SD card.
Hmmmm..... This is really annoying. Why couldnt you just get the phone right HTC!!??

The question is no different than asking "which should I buy, a M-B E Class or BMW 5 Series?" Both have strengths and weaknesses and neither is immune from issues.
The same applies to the One X vs. SGS3 comparison.
Here's a list of reasons why not to get a One X over a SGS3.
1) You like SAMOLED displays.
2) You need better battery life than the 1800mAh non-removable battery in the One X can provide.
3) You want removable storage.
4) You don't like the One X design or are partial to the SGS3's.
5) You like TouchWiz better than Sense.
6) HTC's new warranty policy for flashing third-party ROMs either scares you or pisses you off.
7) You fancy some of the s/w features like Direct Talk, S-Voice, and Smart Stay.
8) You use $300 plus headphones or have several thousands of dollars’ worth of home A/V equipment and the Wolfson DAC's important.
Here's a list of things that are going to be the same.
1) Initial build quality issues.
2) Initial s/w problems.
3) Variations from display-to-display.
4) Durability and longevity.
5) Excellent development support.
Voice calls, e-mail, MMS, social, and web browsing make up 70% of what people do with smartphones. In those areas it would be hard to tell the two phones apart. Happy decision making.
P.S. – For those on their 9th exchange, now hate HTC for whatever reason, or have expectations no phone ever produced could meet; there’s no need to re-post what you’ve most likely already posted a dozen times. I, and I’m sure others get it; the One X has some launch issues and because of that your life is forever altered.
sticking with it.. does everything I need and it's the sexiest phone on the market right now. so why would I need to move? Plus I'm on a 2 year contract so doesn't justify me breaking my contract or selling my phone for less than its actual worth.
@BarryH I think that's a little unfair. I wasn't trying to run through faults that have already been covered at great length elsewhere on the forum. Nor was I asking for a basic tally of pros and cons of S3 versus the One X.
My aim was to gauge the community's loyalty towards the One X given the faults and flaws that the device shipped with, and whether many would be making the switch over to the S3.
Also, the majority of the problems with the One X are not examples of people being overly picky or entitled - they are cases of the phone simply not doing what it was designed to do. Now I have no idea if or how long it will take HTC to fix them, but that is why I asked what peoples' thoughts about that where in the original post.
Thanks for responding

I wasn't faulting your original question. Sorry if it came across that way. The One X vs. SGS3 comparison/debate will be ongoing for most of the year. I was just trying to provide a check list for people on the fence. I'd guess most people leaving the One X would be going to the SGS3 anyway. I never did answer your original question. I'm getting a SGS3 and using it for a week or two before deciding which phone to keep. And not because I think there's anything wrong with the One X.
Hey all-
I am in the middle of a dilemma, I currently own a VZW galaxy nexus and it is on its last leg. The battery is shot, takes forever to connect calls, and is slow. I have been trying to baby it till the nexus 5 comes out but it is so annoying using a phone that is slow. I have been looking into the HTC one (my previous phone was the HTC incredible and I loved it). But I cant decide if I should try and wait for the N5? I understand that the HTC One as of now cannot achieve S-off/Root, but I am assuming it is only a matter of time till developers crack it.(thank you to all the great developors on XDA!) so what would you do in my situation? Wait for the N5 or go with the One?
I am really drawn to the one for the metal body and the new sense seems pretty nice, IMHO the S4 is to gimmiky.

Who's to say that the Nexus 5 is coming to Verizon unless you plan on switching carriers.. You weren't really clear on that aspect. There is a great deal of new devices that are coming out soon which should make for an exciting fall and Q4..
Also on a side note never buy a device with the assumption that the developer community will unlock, root, s-off the device you plan to buy. With devices coming out so frequently and OEMs becoming smarter with the way they are locking down their devices it's a game of cat and mouse or hit or miss if you will......
I recently purchased the HTC One just because it's an amazing device, that is with the hopes the the real deal hackers crack the bootloader to achieve s-off, unlock, root etc...
Right now I am in the same boat. I have waited this long what's another month or two to see what the Nexus 5 has in store?
Yes it may mean changing carriers which sucks but Verizon has done everything to sabotage the htc one (4 months late, no black model, quickly locking it down) that they no longer deserve my business...
So I will wait to see what the fall phones bring before making a decision at this point.
As soon as you wait for one device to arrive, another ridiculous phone is right around the corner. It's an endless cycle.
I was in the same boat. HTC Incredible > Galaxy Nexus > ? I considered the Nexus 5 but between the solid rumors it is going to be an LG (my least favorite oem) and the fact VZW let the N4 pass it by I opted to go with the HTC One.
Got it day 2 expecting to unlock it. No such luck but not having root after coming from a Gnex has not been a big deal. The HTC One is sooo awesome compared to the Gnex. The only things I miss from root/roms is long press back button kill (more of a habit than an issue), some of the Sense screens (Like the battery usage screen). They are such picky things I have no regrets moving to the One.
Did I mention that while my Gnex needed 1 to 2 charges throughout the day to make it to bedtime but the one can stay off the charger and with similar usage has 40% left. With heavy usage I got to 14% once after 16 hours on battery. Battery and sluggishness drove me to a new phone and I am glad it was the HTC One.
I agree with all of you, however I plan on staying with vzw.... What phones other than the n5 are coming out? There is the new lg buy I cannot stand the volume rocker on the back....is there any other phones that have been confirmed to be with big red?

Yeah I would assume the Note 3 would most likely come to Verizon as well being that it is the primary and most popular phablet to date..
Nexus 5 definitely won't show up on Verizon. The only other great phone left this year on Verizon will likely be the G2. That looks to be even more powerful than the HTC One and a larger screen. I don't care for it because its LG and their android skin is horrendous. I also could never get a plastic phone after having an HTC One. Its your call though of course!
I've sort of stopped playing the "should I get it or wait?" game because the smartphone market has just become so insane. Once you get a phone, a newer, better one is right around the corner. I got the HTC One knowing the bootloader got locked up, and I'm really enjoying it...even stock it's nice. I mean, I can't wait to put other roms on it, but nevertheless, it's awesome.
I also had a similar smartphone trajectory. OG Droid -> DInc-> GNex
In April I bought the S4, but really wanted The One. So last week I sold my s4 on craigslist and bought The One. It is fantastic as is. My contract is finally up in December, and coincidentally my discount expired this month. So if the N5 comes out and looks substantially better than The One, I will sell The One on swappa or craigslist or ebay. My point is go ahead and buy the phone, if you want something newer in the future you can always sell it and get another phone, though you may take a small loss. The One is amazing and although 6 months old I can hardly believe it will feel "outdated" in even a year....
encyvrs providence
I would stop waiting and just get the one. I came from the GNexus and the one is better in every way. faster, better screen, better battery, better speakers and sound etc.
My thought is that if there is a phone out I want I'll get it vs waiting. If you decide to wait for the next best thing you'll never get a phone. They come out so fast now.
sent from my blue police box flying through time.....
Thanks for all of your responses! I think I am going to go ahead and get the one! I am in the design industry and I have been waiting for a beautiful android and the one is it! Going out this week and getting it,
The N5 will most likely not be anywhere near Verizon/Sprint so might as well get a One.

I would get a one now if it has the nokia microphones and I think they still carry this feature. One HTC runs out of stock for these you probably won't see them in any other device in the future other than windows phones since microsoft is buying nokia. I listened to a few comparison videos on youtube and those microphones make a huge difference in recording capability. Htc ones with these mics will probably have high resale value later on down the road.

I bought the one...it was nice. I returned it and am waiting for the Moto X to hit retail stores so I can Czech it out. I like as stock of an Android experience as possible, and the X looks like the best choice in that dept.
With the One, the build is awesome, the screen is great and the front facing speakers are amazing. The overlay I didn't care for (icons still remind me of my 2.2 Thunderbolt) and I thought the camera was terrible (even in direct comparison to my aging S3).
But, I think right now it's at least in the top 2 phones on Verizon, and I don't think you can go wrong with it.

Short answer there is about as much reason to switch from the M7 to m8 as their is to switch from the S4 to S5..which is not much
-4.7in screen vs 5in screen, nice size upgrade, but the bottom buttons moved into the screen.
-Speakers are better on the M8, but they aren't bad on the M7
Reason's you may consider the upgrade:
-32GB storage is not enough, you can expand the memory up to 160GB Total on the M8
-Gun Metal Gray looks sick, I love the fit and finish of the M8, it does look better
I had the M7, got the Lumia Icon, which I am now upset I sold, because I really like the Windows interface and screen
- Was deciding between the M8 and the S5, and I am sorry, but Samsung just looks plain cheap, even though I know it's a great phone.
Lets see... A better processor, SD card, bigger screen, bigger battery.... I definitely think it's an upgrade. Personally I would sell off the M7 and pay the difference for the M8, the price difference is definitely worth the upgrade.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
In my opinion, the processor bump doesn't mean anything since I don't play games and the M7 is plenty fast. I don't use up much memory (don't watch videos or have lots of pictures) so the microsd card doesn't mean anything to me. Bigger screen is nice, but 4.7 is good enough for me. The only thing that looks really good to me is the battery life increase. I heard the speakers are better/louder, but then again, I don't watch movies on it and listen to music only on headphones.
Hard decision.

The only thing that looks really good to me is the battery life increase. I heard the speakers are better/louder, but then again, I don't watch movies on it and listen to music only on headphones.
Hard decision.

How can this possibly be a hard decision? You've basically said that every feature that could be considered worthy to upgrade for you aren't interested in. Just keep your phone, honestly. You've already answered your own question and you don't need people on the internet to help push you to an impulse buy.
Agreed. Thanks.

Yeah dude ...just keep your device and why troll the M8 boards? If you don't have the means to upgrade then don't. I like to have the latest and greatest cause I could.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
Battery life alone was enough for me to upgrade. I can easily go all day even with heavy use. The M7 I had to charge twice a day, with the same usage my M8 last all day. Something about the M8 that makes it so efficient. It's night and day difference, with that said all the other little aspect of the phone has been slightly upgraded and if the whole package is not enough for you to upgrade then I don't know what will.

Seeing how I have both here at home I can say it's a beautiful step up from the m7. I actually bought the m8 and passed my note 3 to my lady which was using the m7. I always liked the m7 but lack of ad card support was what made me go back to Samsung, but after what they pulled with Knox I am done with them.

Seems to me that your decision isn't so hard then
I think the battery (particularly if you are a heavy user) and camera are enough of an upgrade to justify getting the M8. What makes the decision difficult is that the HTC one m7 is just a great phone making it too short a time to upgrade.
Personally I'm awaiting Xperia z2 before moving on from my HTC one.
The M7 is already such a great phone. I prefer the M7 over M8 as far as UI is concerned. I do struggle often with not having the SD slot as I often transfer apps/Tasker things between my phones a lot. I have to use OTG or bluetooth.

I made the switch and I love the M8, the build quality, new fit and finish, bigger screen, louder speakers, micro sd slot, dual camera, way better batterylife make it all worth it to me. I got mine off craigslist too (sealed and unopened for $560) beats $625 + tax from T-Mobile.

I dont have a EIP. I bought my last phone outright too (but from T-Mobile)
The phone was unopened and sealed and they told me that their sister (the one selling the phone) works at T-Mobile and was selling it and my guess is (from talking to my friend that works at T-Mobile) is they got it for cheap from HTC and turned around and sold it (HTC has promotions with T-Mobile employees (they do this every year) I am not worried.

Curious, by buying it second hand do you still have access to the HTC advantage insurance? Also any problems with warranty if something were to go wrong with it?
Those were the two issues that made me hesitant to pick up an M8 on craigslist, there were a few for sale a couple days even before they were released and I was actually pretty tempted to bite, but also the thought of EIP/stolen/lost blacklisted IMEI numbers scared me off.
my wife and son had m7's and I had one maxx on Sprint, but we switched to Tmo in February due to Sprints horrific network..
Now, they have G2's, and love them, and I have a LG Flex, that I dont like that much for a variety of reasons(zero development, no sd card, android 4.2), on my 3rd replacement right now, and would love to grab an M8, but have 3 more months to wait for my first Jump..
This phone looks like a home run, and I am blown away by how much development there is already for it!
Seems like it is a major upgrade from the M7 in alot of ways!!
Why would you get the Flex knowing 1st hand it was on an old software version and no micro SD card. I personally love the Flex minis the blue tooth issues with Netflix being a hair behind. Only reason of thinking on this phone.

Very little developing going on. M8 receives 6.0 before m9 think nexus will be my new phone . Sad because I've owned every HTC phone released to Rogers in Canada seriously disappointed with them anyone else have an opinion
I rather enjoy a stable android 5.1 than a buggy 6.0. Hopefully, camera will be improved in 6.0. I'm still in love with htc m9 because of its gorgegous hardware.
As markkenzy said. Stable over latest. No point in having a phone if you cant use it because it crashes all day..
I wish I stole my HTC M9.

You are disappointed in HTC because there is not enough third party development going on? How is that HTC's fault? Oh wait, you are disappointed that the M8 gets updated before the M9 and feel that it is a reason to dump HTC. I find that silly. Well, you won't be disappointed with development for Nexus. I went from HTC to Nexus and back to HTC. I had plenty of fun when I had my Nexus. You will also always get updates first with the Nexus. This is probably a good choice for you based on what you place as most important.
I had the nexus 4 and went back to HTC, I've had all the HTC flagships over the last 4 years and I love HTC. I sold my M9 and got a nexus 6P and it's the best decision I made. The sad thing is I don't miss sense or HTC anymore. Battery that lasts over a day, a camera that can take pictures at night time is enough to make me realise HTC made a poor device. It makes me sad that the forums for the m9 are pretty quiet too. Hope HTC pick it up, they're my favourite phone manufacturer but even I'm not going to stay with them if they can't make a device that can compete with the latest

I'm with you- I've had HTC for 7 years now...
Though I understand their plight, they still make the highest quality android devices. It isn't plastic, has a good heaviness to it (Though I preferred the M8's heavier weight). I would love to see HTC make the next Nexus phone. That would give them a refreshing boost.
Other than that, I am skipping the A9. I got my M9 in April 2015, so I would like to hold on to it for a long time. Of all my HTC phones, I've used them all for two years each.

I also came to the M9 from a Nexus 4. For me, the Nexus 4 felt cheap (it was) and the screen was horrible and you could barely hear the external speaker. It also got a lot of complaints in regards to the camera. But for the price, it was a good phone. I'm sure the 6P is much better, but I'm finding the M9 to be a really nice phone. It has a solid build and runs really smooth. I haven't had any of the overheating issues others have had and the battery will last me all day, around 16 hours, on moderate usage. The camera was touch and go at start, but with all the updates, it is greatly improved. I find it sufficient for on the go shots and if I want better quality, I will switch to RAW. Honestly, I find the camera to be on par with my wife's Note 4. I have made many comparisons.
I'be been with HTC since the legend and have had only HTC since I'm gonna keep my m9 like all my phones get the nexus 6p just to see how it goes I won't jump ship just hope the new HTC flagship is a hit with development

That's the exact same reason I got rid of my nexus 4 and went back to the one s! The phone did feel very cheap. Completely agree with you on the camera on the M9. Don't get me wrong the m9 is a fantastic phone, I had mine since launch as my daily driver till now. I think in good lighting picture quality is truly amazing. I just couldn't get anything decent from low light situations. Marshmallow should bring a lot of improvements to the device which will be well received.

I wanted to stick with Nexus, but at the time, it was the Nexus 6 that was out and I didn't want a screen that big. I don't like TouchWiz and have always had poor experiences with Samsung phones. The M9 was the most current premium phone out that fit my needs and taste, plus I have always liked HTC phones.

Love HTC for Viper Rom and rooting
G6 seems like a great phone but no root for the dual sim version.
Both around £320
DJ. I'm in the same position so can def help you. I bought the G6 over the HTC simply because the G6 looked good and I thought the thing would eventually get unlocked and we'd have all kinds of custom rooms, etc but nothing just lots of crickets. The phone looks good but without root and roms it gets boring very fast.
I'm in the process of getting the HTC plus cash for the G6 . The HTC has great support and endless roms, trust me go for the HTC.

Also the screen size may be an issue, the HTC screen is bit small but looks mind-blowing.

So long as as money isnt' a problem there is only one logical choice, otherwise why not just get an M9? Or an M8?
The increment in speed alone is reason enough to get it, plus the new feature set if thats your thing, form factor is subjective so each to their own, but on raw specs and what it can give there is only one clear winner.

I do not agree. The 10 is a much superior device than the M8 and M9, or HTC Hero :silly:

Not sure if your first sentence is legit or not so i'll answer it anyway then put a silly face on just incase it wasn't.
I'm not saying that the 10 is in anyway the same or on par with the 8 9 or the awesome hero
But why say the 10 is better than the 11 for some of us? When given the choice it clearly is not, not in anyway, besides size perhaps ? Nothing else. :silly::silly::silly::silly::silly:

Actually the real question is why would you suggest a phone that wasn't even under consideration by the OP? We don't know why those are the only phones that are to be chosen between, and to suggest something that is almost double the price mentioned, that it "makes no sense" to not go with the 11, makes, well, no sense really.

It makes sense to me. Buying a last gen phone does not. LG G6 perhaps but development will be lacklustre, I suggested it because it DOES make sense and it is what I would do, either that or the one plus five which I've just bought about two hours ago.
Do what you will op you have my two cents.
Now I must be gone because the mediocrity of this thread and it's responses hath caused me to obtain Forrest Whittaker eye and I fear it may be permanent should I remain.. eth.

I got my HTC 10 2months ago. LG G6 was the other phone I was considering. Eventually I picked the HTC, because I wanted a compact device with capacitive buttons and fingerprint scanner on the front. So it's mainly due to the usability concerns. Also the $200 price gap between the HTC and LG (DS version with DAC which I was considering) mattered.
I don't think that the speed difference would be noticeable in the daily use. The HTC's camera is on pair. LG has double back lens, but HTC has rear OIS which is nice.
I am happy with my choose. The only thing that is making me wonder is that it's getting a little to hot a little too fast (can get to 37* C during nornal use, just by browsing the web with Opera). My old Samsung Note 3 wasn't getting as hot. Other than that I have no complains.

Not a fan of the all glass body on the U11, and I expect the constant polling of the side sensors will affect battery drain. Also, If the sensors get out of whack they could be triggered by simply putting the phone in your pocket i.e. too sensitive. The HTC 10 is a well made phone. Build quality is excellent. Keeping my 10 as a backup phone, and getting a US unlocked, dual sim, 1+5.

Two phone numbers on the same phone is pretty cool.
I have a HTC-10 which I purchased second hand for a family member, it has been rooted and I installed LineageOS on it, apart from that I haven't used it all that much but compared to my Nexus 6P my initial thoughts are
Pros:
HTC-10 feels a little faster
Memory card slot
Cons:
Too small (personal preference I guess but I welcome the extra screen real-estate)
Not all stock features are supported in custom ROMs (for example slow motion video)
the speakers aren't as loud as the 6P,
The home button seems to have a slight delay between pressing and registering
The fingerprint sensor is in a terrible spot
I was looking at a LG G6 but the lack of community support means it's not an option for me.
I couldn't recommend either of them really... I'd find it hard pressed to recommend any phone at the moment (I am particular)

Have the 1+5 in my hand, got it today, don't know what all the bad reviews are about, it's a beast.
Selling my HTC 10 now Cheap I want rid of it.
U11 feels too plastic for me compared to the 10, my 10 on Leedroid is very fast, never had an issue, great sound, good camera etc. Going to look at LG V30 when it comes out, 10 will take some beating. I've dropped it 4 times and still looks awesome
I wouldn't buy the u11.
It's too big for me. and that is a big factor. Sure, I'd get used to it, but I want to use the device with 1 hand. The 10 I can still do this, the u11, I wouldn't. Also, a lot of wasted space that I hate. Samsung is winning in that perspective.
I don't like the plastic nor the missing headphone jack, either. I want these things, like the IR blaster, I miss that.
If I was to break my htc 10 tmw, and I do have enough $$ to get the u11 outright, I'd still buy a used 10 off swappa.
Also.. Verizon.. Doesn't have full support, is my understanding, which for that $$, I want.. and need.
my worthless .2 cents, lol
