Having SD card issues with certain apps, specifically titanium backup and astro file manager. When I try to bakup with titanium backup to the sd card, I get this message: "Batch Backup interrupted: Insufficient free storage space". When I try to copy something to my sd card with astro I get the message: "Device missing label Due to a bug in Android to be able to write to an SD card or usb the device must have a label. . . ."
I am able to backup with TiB using internal storage, and able to copy things to the sd card with the stock file manager.
I have tried unchecking the "mount namespace separation" option in supersu and did not work. I also added made sure to name the card on my laptop, as suggested by the Astro help message. Neither worked.
It has been the same on two g4s, with two different sd cards, one formated exfat and one fat32.
Is anyone able to use an sd card to backup TiB?
Using internal storage now but would rather use sd card because of the size of the backup.

yesterday i flashed ics on my a100
i followed the instructions here and it worked
then I did a factory data reset and rooted my a100.
but now the problem:
when I connect my tablet to the pc, I see the internal storage and the sd card. on my a100 I see the internal storage and the sd card, too. but the sd card shows not the correct data. for example I have two videos on the sd card, but can't see them. the same with apk's. when I put them on the internal storage, I can see them with a file explorer(I tried different...ever the same). but the sd card is recognized, when I unmount and mount it.
can someone help me?
EDIT: I formatted my sd card. in the settings it shows that the sd card ist empty. but when I start a file explorer, it shows folders on the sd card. it seems like the file explorer apps didn't update the sd card file system??
Its worth noting that file explorer apps from the market default to /mnt/sdcard which is in fact your internal storage, if using astro you can navigate to /mnt/external_sdcard which is in fact your SD card
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium

thank you!
before I flashed ICS I had no problem. ...learning from mistakes
I have a T320 Tab Pro 8.4 with this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2698460 and with TWRP 2.7.0.1.
I have a 32GB external micro SD card which has been formatted in the tab itself. Also the platform.xml file has been edited to allow write access to the card, which works properly eg using Astro to copy files.
Problem is, TWRP can't see the external SD card. When I select external_sd in the TWRP file manager it does not show the files and folders there. If I backup using Online Nandroid Backup and try to save it to external SD, it instead goes to some obscure directory in the internal storage.
Any help much appreciated!

Here's a little followup for anyone who might have similar issue. I thought I had solved this problem by reformatting the card in the tablet; it was then recognized in various apps that had been a problem before. However, a few days later the card was shown as blank/unformatted. At that point I did some additional testing and determined that it was a counterfeit 32GB card, based on an actual 8GB card. I was able to get a refund and ordered a new 64GB card. Caveat emptor!
I had Kitkat PAC-MAN rom installed and I used to get error randomly that "SD Card removed". TiBu failed to backup at scheduled time because SD Card was not accesible. But at the same time I can access the SD card using File manager.
Now I flashed Stock 4.3 rom and now Spotify and Google Music fail to detect and download Music to SD card. I can still access SD card using file explorer and play files directly.
What size SD card do you have? Depending on the size and if you have your information backed up, performing a chkdsk on the sd card may fix your issue.
I had this problem once before with a 64gb sd card, something was corrupted and check disk fixed it(surprisingly)
I am using a new SanDisk 32GB card and software version V20H. I downloaded some MP3 files using uTorrent. However, if I select to save the files to the SD card directly, uTorrent gives an error "cannot write to disk" after downloading 10-15%. But when I choose to save to the internal memory, everything downloads fine. So I downloaded them to the internal storage and used the File Manager app to transfer the files from the internal storage to the SD card. However, even that fails after 10-15%. What's going wrong? The card is 100% fine as I can install apps and save pics/videos to it.
I had a similar problem with a Samsung 32GB card - transferring a large file (~1GB) directly to the card using wifi file sharing would fail at some random point, but the same transfer to the internal memory always worked. Copying the file from internal to external SD card also worked. When I switched to another card (Samsung 64GB) the direct file transfer problem disappeared.

Copying the file from internal to external SD card also worked.

In my case even internal -> external is failing. The files are a collection of small mp3 music files. I don't even have a clue to what's going wrong!

Device is VS986, if that makes a difference.
smth similar here - TB prob - even though I have some 15GB free on SD (64GB SDXC) i'm unable to backup to microSD ( insufficient disk space) , after backing up to internal storage I'm able to copy backup to microSD (Genisys 3.7, xPosed 79, SuperSU 2.67, TB - latest)
