Notification sound issues

Hi everyone
I was wondering if someone could help me with this. Thing is I didn't want to upgrade to lollipop but the phone started restarting by itself, freezing and a screen with "facebook has stopped" or "google services has stopped" will appear constantly in the las few days. I had to perform a factory reset and when I did, the phone upgraded by itself to lollipop. Everything seemed to be working fine but now even I assign an specific notification tone for each contact whenever I receive a whatsapp message it will not work and the standard notification tone will sound instead. I was so used to identify whoever was whatsappin' me just by the notification tone and now I can't. Do you know if this is a common issue related to the lollipop upgrade? or does it have to do with the factory reset and I might need to uninstall/install the whatsapp app? If this has todo with the l upgrade it will be so frustrating because nowadays nobody on the world actually calls but texts and it is more useful to have an specific notification sound for each texter... Thank you guys
Try this
Install latest WhatsApp, & from WhatsApp settings set individual notification tones

LG G4 H815 Marshmallow and Business Calendar 2

Hi All,
This is kind of a "What has happened since upgrade" question. Got my Marshmallow upgrade a week ago but other than that everything worked as it should. I got fed up with the battery drain so decided to do a factory reset. All went well but I have a lingering issue with Business Calender 2 and "Do Not Disturb" I was wondering if anyone uses this app and could test something for me or comment.
I use Do Not Disturb from 10:30pm to 7am and I have all calls allowed through but no notifications I have no apps ticked as a priority so that to me means any calls I get, all notifications register but do not give any sound.
Business Calender 2 however manages to get round this somehow and no matter how I set it up other than totally silent BC2 notifcations are still audible while the system is on DND. I want to know if its normal or something I have done so am asking if anyone else can check in any way or has had experience.
All other apps, Chrome, whatsapp, text, FB etc show in the status bar but do not sound.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
As an update, I removed BC2 and even with the inbuilt calender app it does the same thing. I looked at an old G3 I had running 5.1 and that has a tick box to allow calender notifications which I didnt have ticked so I think maybe that when I upgraded the G4 from 5.1 to 6 that setting stayed somehow and then when I factory reset it was gone.
I will also note here that I have searched everywhere and it appears that native Android 6.0 has toggles for calender and events to let through on priority screen which they were on 5.1 but they are nowhere to be seen in my priority screen on my G4.. Very frustrating, where have they gone?
It is annoying though as no notifications to me should include the calender.
Oh well..
Guys,
Can I just ask someone here with a non rooted LG G4 running Marshmallow to put their phone into "Do Not Disturb" and then set a calender appointment while its in that state and let me know whether the notifcation is audible or if the "Do Not Disturb" suppresses it. That way I will know one way or the other as a rebuild to find out is a little excessive and I dont know anyone else with a G4.
Appreciated.

I confirm that the calendar reminder notification ignores the "Do not disturb" status and is audible. Strange indeed..

several bugs with OOS 4.0

Hi, i updated my phone to OOS 4.0 with clean install 1 month ago.
since then i have several annoying bugs :
- Bluetooth issue : my phone doesn't detect my headphone Plantronics Backbeat pro. it worked perfectly before update
- widget issue : i use a widget for calendar (business calendar) for 3 years. Now this widget disappear randomly... every time i re-add it, it disappears like 2h or 2 days after.
- I don't find a way to put my phone in vibrate mode. before i just reduced volume until it's on vibrate, but now it doesn't reduce until vibrate (minimum is like 10% volume).
The only way i found is to use "do not disturb" mode, but i don't get notification anymore...
- i also have wifi issue (slow wifi, slow play store download), but i think it started before update (even though it comes from the phone and not from my internet).
Does anyone have those problems ? it's really annoying
Thanks in advance
First tip I can give to you is to update immediately to OOS 4.0.2 because this update fixes some bugs that are present on 4.0 (but I never had problems with 4.0).
1. I think this has fixed with 4.0.2
2. I think it's a problem of that app, have you contacted the developer? Do you use Nova Launcher or stock launcher?
3. For now you can't set to silent mode the phone with the volume buttons, OnePlus has changed how the buttons work and for now that problem remains (I don't like it too, but I use the slider, it's here for something right? ). You can set the phone in vibrate mode moving the slider on the upper mode and in the settings activate the vibration
4. That problem was fixed in 4.0.2 update
So update your phone as soon as you can, the update is great
thanks for your answer ! I'll update as soon as possible then and let you know.
I use stock launcher, i'll try to add other widget to see if it comes from that app or all apps.
And about the vibrate mode, that's what i did, i use the slider at top now, but i dont get notification like that... no notification from messenger, no vibration for messenger, no led signal etc etc
I'm on 4.0.2 and have the following bugs:-
-Fingerprint reader is sometimes totally unresponsive, (not even turned on,) after a full night of Doze mode. (Not set to aggressive Doze BTW.) Pressing the power button re-enables it.
-Gmail notification doesn't disappear when you go into the email you've been notified about. It only goes when you go back to the primary inbox or delete the email.
As far as I'm concerned these are minor issues. On the whole, I'm happy with One Plus and don't have any major bugs. :victory:

Good Try other widget, yes :good:
If you don't receive notification, you have to set the app to don't optimize it in the battery settings, here you have to set to don't optimize all the apps you want notification for (whatsapp, messenger, email...).
Let me know when you've updated the phone

Top mode is "silent" and you should be getting notifications in that mode. The middle one is "do not disturb", which blocks most notifications (depending on your settings).

OK i updated, first thing i can say is that the Bluetooth still doesn't work.. it doesn't even detect my headphone.
For the rest i'll see in long term utilization
I downgraded my device to OS 3.2.8 since Nougat (both official OS4 and OS4.02 and LineageOS) has broken bluetooth.
I can connect to my car audio but it barely works. And when I try to use the phone over BT it breaks and I need to reboot OP3. Also I have problems with my bluetooth speaker (JBL Charge2+). It connects to it much slower and sometimes it stops working.
I already complained to OP3, they put me to a remote session, downgraded my phone, I tested it in Marshmallow and saw that it works, then upgraded again to OS4.02 (wasnt working) and then tried LineageOS hoping that custom roms might have it working but it behaved exactly the same.
They told me to wait for next update, but I dont think they will do anything.
Try to submit a report ticket to them. More people bugs them, more chance they will try anything.
Anyway I am already looking for another device. This is second OnePLus device I used and both had software issues. Luckily CyanogenMod was working fine on OP1 back then. Now even the custom roms cant help me.

(edited)no notification sound after call zui 2.0.xxx +

hi, first lemme tell you my story, once I was a happy ordinary smartphone user, but then I got a zuk z2 plus, I've never played around with a device system, recovery or anything like that, I was(missed that time) a total noob like a granny trying to take a picture, now its been 5 months ive been trying to make my stock zui 2.0.xxx + to notificate me the right way, i've learned how to use foruns, learned the meaning of OP and not to quote OP too, learned how to unlock bootloader, flash twrp, flash custom kernels, flash custom roms, revive zuk from a hard brick(yep hard brick, black screen, vibrates every 20 seconds or so, couldnt get the button combinations to work etc etc) I had to unplug battery, use a copper wire in the charger cable, plug into the pc and remove the copper wire to force 9008 mode, darn! man, all I wanted was a fast good fully working phone, I didn't sign up for this ,so this is what happens: when I'm on a call, i receive messages itll make tones and vibrations, notificating me that i have new messages, but when i end the call and if I receive any other message notification sound wont work, it wont work even if I go under setting>>sound etc>>>notification sound, those ogg files stop making sound, like it were desconnected from the system, it only comes back to normal after rebooting the phone, so I associated that the problem is with the phone.apk, but im no dev, dont know how to change things, i do not want to use custom rom for its dark camera, and FS doesnt work 100%(tested at least 6 different roms and combination of kernels) I tried deodexed zui rom, but the notification problem is still present, I'm here to ask any of you who have the knowledge to help me figure out how to fix that on the stock zui, i tryed rooting the device and then chaging the ogg files to another place but to no avail, please , Im already begging you guys, help me!
from a sad dude oh, btw on custom roms notifications work normally. and the same problem is also present on stock indian zui
way to reproduce problem: make a call and start sending lots of messages from another phone to zuk, during the call which zuk is making, put it on speaker so you can hear the tones, eventually the tones will get messy, then hang up, send another message, done, no more notification sound.
forgot to say version 1.9.044 works normally, and i just noticed that during the call it does not make any tone sound, it only vibrates...so im guessing that maybe if only I could stop that tone from messing with notification sound on updated zui 2.5/3.1, it could solve my problem entirely,
(edit part 2) so, definetely the tones is the culprit, like I said zui 1.9.044 doesnt make any tones, actually it doesnt even vibrates, did a test to my wife's redmi 4x which is on miui 9, and it too doesnt have the tones nor does it vibrate, so I'm 87% sure that's the problem
but...how to remove that from zui 2.5.xxx or 3.1.xxx?
I noticed that zuk lacks of call alerts feature, where the notification tone could be disabled and under call setting , switch to silent doesnt make it stop

Notification sound issue NOTE 4 Verizon

I tend to set different tones for different apps on my phone in order to determine whether I can deal with the notification later or not (cuz I work in harsh conditions and do not have time to use my phone except in urgent cases).
Anyway, I use WhatsApp a lot and decided to set a custom tone for the app via the settings panel inside WhatsApp. It wasn't difficult to find and should be fairly easy. However, even though I've changed the notification sound, I still get the default sound and NOT the custom sound whenever I get a WhatsApp notification.
Any help would be appreciated...
P.S. I'm running stock marshmallow with no root
