Does anyone know if the stock music app is supposed to read album art from a file in the same directory as the music files? E.g. a folder.jpg.
It's not doing that for me... Or I'm doing it wrong

Just downloaded this music player from the market called TTPod and I really like it. It automatically downloaded lyrics and arts with just the name of the song and the artist. It also replaces the lockscreen when music is playing so that you can play/pause/forward/back your music.
i have Adrenaline ROM, it has Google Music but it does not show my Embedded Album Art on any mp3, m4a, & mp4 files.
it does work in PowerAmp & TTPod music player,
it was working in my previous Stock Based SanGinger Ace stock Music player, but when i installed Stock Music player on Adrenaline ROM it didn't work.
which Google Music player or Stock Based player is your Embedded Album Art working ???

my all music is tagged very well from PC foobar2000 music player app,
i dont want to ecit my Tags or Album Art, i just want to see it in my music player app in Ginger bread android.
on cm7.2 music player shows art in art cm7 based ROM,
but cm7.2 music player does not shows it in Stock based ROM why?

Does anyone use N7 Player as a default music player?
If so, I was wondering if anyone knows how to display music that do not yet have an album tag filled in for the mp3 file..
I do not want to, and I do not plan on using any album tag downloading apps. (And also, these apps probably won't even help me because 99% of my songs are not English songs)
I am going through this exercise manually to ensure all my music files have 100% accurate album names, but until then, I still want to be able to see all my music in N7 Player... Any pro tips?
Also, another thing I want to ask is, whenever I add an album art to an mp3 file, I cannot seem to have the music player (ANY music player, not just N7) to show the updated album art... The only way I know how to refresh the album art is to reboot my phone, insert my music files, and then reboot again. (Even then, sometimes this doesn't work..)
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Hey guys , does any of you know a good music player ? I got the one from the slimbeam rom but i cant make a proper playlist and it is so annoying. I want something like the TW music player , the original one , it was so easy to make a playlist.. the thing is i have more geners of music and i need three diferent playlists so ye , everything i`ve tried sucked at this lol . Its free (exept the unlocker).
The unlocker is only if you need 10band hq equalizer. maybe some extra stuff too.

So far PowerAmp has been the best. Tried allmost every possible players. As my tags in collections r awful, PowerAmp displays and organizes songs in folder view, which is a must if your id tags r messed up:silly:

strange problem in my new g3.
i use ID3 tags to embed my album art in all of my mp3 files.
they arranged in one folder.
when i use power-amp it shows correctly every song with it's own album art BUT strangely the G3 stock music player is not showing the album art at all or (in some folders) show a particular album art of one file located in that folder (its not even the first one ??)
i also checked the files with the stock file manager app that also shows the mismatched album art just like in the stock music player.
any idea ?

Do the songs have album title information? If not, android will replace the missing album title with the directory name these songs are located in.
Further more, some players use album arts from android database (use this to change album arts, songs need album title) or from the file itself (no album title needed)

Sadly its general problem of Android and most of the devices have same disturbing issue. It was on my Gi5510 and still on my G3. Poweramp shows correct if any artwork attached. For now there is no solution seems like but will research this. This issue is really disappointing, 'cause i like to use stock music player rather than 3rd party apps but its not good when other songs artworks attached to every track. If anyone will found a solution please reply this. I will subscribe this thread. +1 for OP.

I used mp3 tag to embed album art for my music and had no problem with it showing up in my music. The only issue was it wouldn't show up if the image was larger than 4mb, but I doubt that's the case for you guys lol. Have you guys used mp3 tag? If not then use it, if you have then could you elaborate a bit more, because I think it may be fixable.
