need help reverting a rooted 10.1 p5210 to stock. - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just bought a second hand gt-p5210 10.1 tablet and realized it's rooted. I really would rather it be back to stock. Can anyone advise the best way to do so without bricking a tablet I just payed over $100 for? It appears to have twrp on it and kies won't recognize it even when I manually enter the model and serial number. I've read the "fix a bricked 10.1 tablet" thread and downloaded his rom but his link to odin is broken. is there an easier way to do this than odin and a downloaded rom?

Worst phone I've ever had to root

Convinced my friend to let me root and ROM his 2.3.6 Tmobile S II. Disaster ensued and with both CWM and TWRP, long story short, i couldn't flash any roms or do anything. Tried CM 10 and CM 11 [for Hercules/T989] on both CWM and TWRP several times and kept getting errors [error 7, error 0 on CWM], and product assert errors on TWRP. Now he's back on stock 2.3.6 with his GPlay market error 492ing and I promised I'd look into it and get him running on 4.0/4.1+. Anyone know why it keeps failing and going wrong? Even my Galaxy Tab 10.1 was easier to root and that could be a nightmare sometimes and I even softbricked it several times.
Best to use Odin to flash the latest 4.1.2 firmware. Make sure everything is working, then proceed from there. There's upgrading guides around... And you may need to use Google to find the firmware, as most links here are dead. Sammobile. Com may have it too. ?
This is actually one of the easiest phones to root, and most Samsung smartphones in general. I bought this phone for myself and my mom, and got my dad a Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (which is pretty much the exact same specs as this phone).
For all three phones, I had to use ODIN. Reverting to stock is painless--just make sure to follow the ODIN guide carefully. From stock, it's easy enough to flash a custom recovery (via ODIN).

[Q] Flash T210 4.4.2 firmware into T2105?

Hi, i bought a Galaxy Tab 3 7" Disney Edition but i don't care about kids stuffs, is it possible to flash it with latest T210 (ITV) firmware 4.4.2 with Odin?
My model is T2105 (ITV) and is still at 4.1.2
Thanks
It might work. Flash a custom (TWRP) recovery to backup the device first, then give it a try. Only problem is, anything could brick the device since there seems to be little to no info.
Some ideas:
Soe ifo on the recovery:
from http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-3/general/root-sm-t210-r-using-heimdall-t2936061
I used the Pit mapping for the T210. The recovery partition is "mmcblk0p10." I checked the partition info on my T210R using Partition Table by Lakshman. The T210R also has its Recovery partition on "mmcblk0p10," so I expect it to work no problem. And TWRP Odin flashables tend to be compatible with several 7.0 variants.

There do seem to be Odin flashables for the 4.1 software, which should be able to recover the device, but I would obtain one of those first.
If you proceed, please keep us updated so that other users out there can find this information

You can try The Nolekat Rom. It is fest Best Customrom for our Tab.
Sooooo.....
Did it work? Im curious as I got the T2105 tab for my kid and the darn thing is really slow for running Spider- Man Unlimited and some other apps
I want to put Cyanogenmod on it or some other rom with less crap
Ive been after the answer to this as well. I have the 2105 myself, and have TWRP installed and root, but not one single custom rom has worked. They just bootloop. Then you have to ODIN the stock rom. I have the original rom from sammobile, but they only have the factory 4.1.2 roms. Im wondering if a stock rom from the 210r or another Tab3 wifi rom would work.
It seems almost every tab3 from around the globe has been updated to 4.4.2 except this one...ive been checking sammobile everyday, but still no update for the 2105...

Your Bootloop prob is like the same as we have on The other device.
Flash a recovery with The Kitkat KK extension.
Well, actually its not a bootloop...it just reboots to recovery. Ill give a KK recovery a shot. any suggestions on which one would be the best? Or the recovery most likely to work? CWM or TWRP? Anything to get this off JB and onto KitKat...lol.. Apprecitae your help!

Yes, thats bootloop into recovery.
I prefere CWM or PhilzTouch on all my device.
Right on. Ill give those recoveries a shot. I have used CWM in the past (HTC Aria), but ive been using TWRP since i got the Galaxy Nexus. Ill give them both a try and report back in a few days... My internet connection sucks ass, so it takes hours to download a rom...

Its amazing that everyone is posting when they have question but no one cares to post their findings. I (also an owner of Galaxy Tab3 Kids T2105 bought in Australia) was fed up with the old and slow firmware. So, I decided to go ahead and flash a new firmware (T210XXBNI1 4.4.2 UK upgrade for SM-T210). First I tried to upgrade with Odin 3.9 but the process would fail after "Nand Write Start". Then I tried it with Odin ver. 3.07 and the process went smoothly and now I am a proud owner of Samsung Galaxy Tab3 with 4.4.2 Kitkat. It does feel a little bit swifter than the Jellybean. Anyways, so far so good. Will post if encountered any problem !

thanks for report thethakuri... i tried to do this too, but for me it doesnt work ... after i installed the 4.4.2, i had a black screen on boot and my tablet dont charge offline... so, i turned to 4.1.2... can you give me any sugesttion?
Update from me: Just upgraded my US SM-T2105 Kids tablet to the UK KK version as well (T210XXBOA3_T210BTUBOA2_Home.tar.md5). Did not work with Odin 3.11 but worked with 3.07 as mentioned above.
The Tab3 Kids is so far holding up very well with the 4.4.2 Firmware. Much more responsive.
Only issue I have is that it switches on when charging and the screen is not very responsive afterwards. A reboot fixes that.
I came across a post somewhere that there is a new bootloader required to fix that but I can't find the post anymore . If someone has that link please post it here. Thanks !

Did you ever find a fix for the screen issue? I'm going to give this a shot this weekend my daughter really wants pokemon go on her tablet!
Unfortunately I could not find it anymore.
Using ours now just with the new firmware and make it a conscious effort to switch it off after charging it. So far works fine.

Galaxy Note 8 , SGH-i467 (ATT)solution for 4.4.2 recovery?

Hello,
So I have the 4.4.2 Galaxy Note sgh-i467, it is stuck in the recovery mode,
I've been trying for some time already to contact Samsung to have some help with the device no luck, they ask me to go to USA or ship it to them for the fix. I have tried a few methods I found here on the forums but no luck with them also, maybe I missed something, basically my question is : was someone able to recover from 4.4.2 to a working tablet ?

I had the same problem and tried Kies and Odin as nothing else seemed apparent. Kies 2.6 would download the 4.4.2 update and show almost finished on the green bar indicator in download mode then Kies would freeze up on my Windows 7 computer and I'd have to end task on it and restart the tablet. There doesn't seem to be a KitKat ROM on sammobile or anywhere else I could find. I did find a thread in the development forum that I've since lost where a senior XDA developer had indicated he'd put in a request with Samsung's executive level of support to get a copy of the 4.4.2 ROM. I tried using Odin to flash the JellyBean image from sammobile, but that's what had caused my table to get stuck in recovery mode in the first place, so it didn't work. I've flashed plenty of ROMs on my GS4, so I'm no stranger to Odin but you seemingly can't go back to JB from KK thanks to the locked bootloader that comes along with it.
I was lucky in that I'm in the U.S. and could bring the Note 8 to my local Best Buy's Samsung Experience kiosk. After my fourth visit to the third Best Buy, I finally found a guy who reloaded the Note 8.0 with the 4.4.2 ROM. It's back up and running now with the stock 4.4.2 ROM.
Charcaroth I wish I could hit that thanks button a hundred times. The Samsung Experience Center @ Best Buy fixed my Note 8.0 that was hopeless just as you said.
Thanks for going above & beyond with your help via private message!

SGH-I467 - Bricked after attempt to restore in Kies

I have a Galaxy Note 8.0 LTE Tablet from AT&T. This device had been updated via OTA to version 4.4.2.
A relative of mine had been borrowing this tablet on a vacation to FL, and when I got it back, they had loaded it with a ton of stuff.
As I've done in the past, instead of going through the tablet, and getting rid of everything, I plugged it into my PC, and fired up Kies.
Like I said, I've done this before... I selected "Upgrade and Initialization". I typed in the Model: SGH-I467, and the Serial Number.
Like before it said it was going to revert the tablet back to 4.1.2. I hit upgrade, and the process started.
It got to 100% completed, and then errored out. The tablet said "Invalid Magic Number", and Kies was telling me I needed to do an "Emergency Recovery". However it did not have a Recovery Code, nor did it list my tablet in the box.
I rebooted the tablet, and tried again with the same error results.
Of course I cannot find a stock firmware file for 4.4.2, nor can I flash 4.1.2 with Odin because the tablet has Knox installed.
I'm at a complete lose at what happened, or what to do. I've read that some people were able to have a tech at Best Buy re-flash the tablet, but the nearest Best Buy store to me is 4 hours away.
Can anyone give me any advice or point me in the right direction?
I downloaded the Open Source KitKat file from the Samsung Site, but I've never compiled from source before, and have no idea where to start.
Has anyone else compiled the OpenSource KitKat files from the Samsung Site for the SGH-I467? If so I would be very very happy if someone could share that with me.
- Thanks in advance for your help!

In my knowledge, you can still flash firmware via odin even your tablet have Knox.
Once you update to kit kat 4.4.x , you cant go back. The kk bootloader is locked.

..and the only stock firmware file available is 4.1.2. Looking like I'm pretty much SOL huh? SOL or drive 4 hours to get to Best Buy. Maybe someday!
I was able to get Samsung to repair my i467 which was bricked in the same fashion. It took 3 times shipping it to their repair center and back before I finally got an upper level manager to override the "Warranty Void" status and do a flash to fix it. Pain in the butt but worth it. They do a lot of insisting it was your fault, and they won't fix, etc. etc. - In my case it was actually a failed OTA that caused the brick.

@Da_G
@K1979C20 figured out that kingroot 4.1 works to root 4.4.2 on the sgh-i467. After rooting, I used an app called "supersu me" to remove kingroot and install supersu. Now I'm rooted and have supers installed!
Now we need to figure out a few things... like how to pull the factory 4.4.2 image and create a flashable or odin image for getting out of a jam in the future... then maybe how to port/flash a rom...
I have signed up to beta test for the flash fire app from @Chainfire, so even though we don't have a Normal recovery like twrp/cwm... we still have the possibility to flash a rom using flashfire.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1: Lost IMEI After P605T 5.1.1 Update

Help Lost IMEI after P605T 5.1.1 update
Hi,
I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition TMobile variant. It came installed with 4.4.2. I wanted to have a rooted 5.1.1
* Applied CF-autoroot from here: primehowto com root-galaxy-note-10-1-lte-sm-p607t-t-mobile
(I didn't check but I think at this stage it didn't wipe the IMEI)
* I used Kies to upgrade from 4.4.2 to 5.1.1.
Now when the IMEI appears to be unknown (not registering with tmobile sim card)
Although the WIFI works whenever the table is rebooted the SSID profiles/passwords are forgotten.
I've been seeing folks suggest the EFS is corrupt.
What is the best way of recovery?
1) Downgrade back to 4.4.2? Maybe the Autoroot isn't compatible with 5.1.1? Is there a safe way to do this?
2) Try to recover EFS? Is there a way to confirm the state of EFS? What would be the best way to do this?
Thanks for your help!
Resolved
I've resolved the issue. It appears CF autoroot didn't cause the problem, but rather using Kies to update to the latest 5.1.1. TMO caused the problem. I was able to get back the IMEI # flashing with .tar.md5 using Odin .
