Hello,
I have used Xperia X10 and finally got tired of it and bought Galaxy S. Now the problem is that I use Handcent SMS app and on Xperia Ive had those nice yellow smileys and now on Galaxy I have those ugly green ones. I tought that those smileys are part of the Handcent app but obviusly I was wrong. Can I change them somehow to those yellow smileys since green ones are almost making me sick.
Tnx
90 views and no one can tell why Xperia X10 has beautiful yellow smileys and we have ugly droid green ones ?
The smilies are build into the framework-res.apk.
Sony has changed the default Android Smilies to the yellow smilies you got on your xperia.
Samsung hasn't changed the smilies.
Ok, tnx. Is there a way to change those to yellow ones ? Maybe with rooted phone and port that framework-res.apk from X10 ?
I'd also quite like change, or even get rid of, the smileys... They look stupid imo.
Sent from my mind using telepathy
They look cool when they are SE yellow, but they look ugly when they are green droid poop like smileys...
But does it really matter tho? I think its clientside, aka, you are the only one seeing them, the one reciever will see whatever he/she has on his/her phone.
You dont like the android smilies!?
Of course I dont, they are fugly ! Look at those from Xperia:

And here are Android default ones:

I think that those from Xperia are way nicer, well, look under this box, this forum has those like on Xperia )))
I know that I see them, thats the point
The X10's is not Android-ish.. nyahaha.. they just look like common smileys..
But I'm also interested in changing the smileys, hope it will be possible just like changing the fonts.
Yea but those common smileys look 10x better than those green s***s that we have now
Do you have a rooted phone?
I could make a metamorph to do it for our phones if someone links me to a framework-res.apk for x10
Don't do it!!! How can you not like the shade sporting droid smiley or the bling mouth one?.....jk to each his/her own, Changing them would be quite simple though if you pull the ones you like and replace them on in your framework.
If you upload your framework-res.apk, I will put the yellow smiley's in for you tomorrow and package in an zip you can flash through cwm.
I am on the latest iteration of stock Jellybean, and I have been using the built-in emoji support to send messages to friends. However, I've found that the number of emoji supported in Android is not equal to the emoji in iOS (for example, the sleeping emoji or the angel smiley face emoji. i.e  )
Is there a font out there that edits the fallback font to support these emoji in the stock rom? If not, what would be the best way to edit the font to gain full support?
If possible, I would also be interested in going through and cleaning up the current emoji, because some are rather hard to see and look decidedly different from their iOS color counterparts.

+1 I would also like to know if this is possible
I have a galaxy s4 mini (gti9192) with cyanogenmod 12.1-20150404-UNOFFICIAL-serranodsxx, some emojis are black and white and the majority are colored. I changed NotoColorEmoji.ttf a couple times and doesn't matter the font, the same emojis always remains black and white. I even extracted the emojis from the font I'm using to see if there was missing an icon for these emojis but no, they are still there but they don't appear here on my keyboard.
Could someone please help me? I would be really glad.
Obs: i cant post links because i'm new but here's a screemshot of some black and white emojis among some colored ones: i.imgur.com/5jRMhOK.jpg
Edit:
I have found the solution on this thread

I know the themes app has don't changing option but it uses Huawei hwt files. I don't quite understand how they work. Before this I'd just use magisk module to switch my emojis to EmojiOne/Joy Pixels. But now I'm lost cause there aren't any EmojiOne/Joy Pixels theme made for Huawei that I can just download. Neither do I know how to make them myself. Neither do I have root or can root to use magisk modules.
Besides I found a really cool font. I noticed if I use iOS emojis, the font also gets switched. I wanna have Dubai font for Arabic, custom English font and EmojiOne/joy pixels emoji. Wonder if it's possible to mix and match like that
Whoops I screwed up, how do I move this to questions section?
Hey guys,
Loving this phone so far (come from an Honor 10, big step up), but there's 1 really annoying bug: every time I change the theme or wallpaper from either the settings app, launcher or themes app, it reverts back to the stock theme and wallpaper regardless of what I do. It's even more annoying as I find the stock wallpaper ugly asf lol. If anyone has any ideas as to how to fix this please lmk!
Thanks
Do you use official themes? Is so, then try to update thememanager.

Hey, figured out the problem. I was using an unsupported font (not downloaded through the theme store, somehow updated my unicode and got the iOS emojis etc), thats why the theme kept reverting to the default one. Simple workaround was just to install ios emojis through search on the actual theme store, only problem is it doesn't support the ios 14 emojis but its better than nothing
