Disconnect your device from your PC/Laptop.
1
From your Device, disable USB Debugging found in Settings > Developer Options.
1
From your PC/Laptop go to Device Manager, click on View> Show Hidden Devices.
1
Double click Composite ADB Interface, click on Properties.
1
Click on the Driver tab and choose on Roll Back Driver. This will uninstall the problematic drivers.
Should 'Roll Back Driver' option be grayed out, click Uninstall.
1
In the confirmation pop up window, click the box marked "Delete the driver software for this device" and then click OK.
Repeat this step for all Composite ADB Interface' entries.
1
Shut down your PC/Laptop, then start again.
(IMPORTANT: Do not "Restart" from the shutdown menu, you must do a full shut down)
1
Once PC has fully rebooted, open device manager and keep it to the side.
1
Connect the device to your PC/Laptop. Your PC will recognize the device as a storage device.
1
From your device go back to Developer options and select USB Debugging.
1
Unplug the device, wait 15-20 seconds and reconnect. You should now see your device from you PC and Device Manager should now have a "Portable Devices" folder
1
Should 'Composite ADB Interface' show up again, repeat (4) and (5) to roll back the driver update.
Ƹ̵̡- It seems, using the universal driver is also a good suggestion. These can be downloaded here -Ʒ

In my device manager there is no ACER.... When I connect my LG G3 (F400S) Android 4.4.2 version, nothing happens in the PC, nothing happens in the device manager (no refresh, no new drivers of LG or LGE), the phone just charges (nothing from the notifications as well). I have installed the LG drivers (latest from LG website), LG PC Suite, tried to connect from LG PC Suite, but the PC refuse to detect the phone. I tried with different USB cables, different USB ports and different PC with different windows (7, 8.1 and 10), absolutely nothing. More surprisingly, my friend has the LG G3 (D855) which he can connect and get detected by his laptop but mine does not in this laptop with his cable in the same USB port! I think the problem is with the phone itself even if it charges. Please HELP!!
@Mr Rus
Is this device new or did you purchase used?
Does the device charge? If so, how?
Has your LG G3 ever been connected to your PC/Laptop?
Do you hear any sound from your PC, when you connect the device via USB cable?
Hi,
1. The device was bought as used online. It said new on the website but by the look of it i know it is used (scratch at laser autofocus and screen not properly glued OR it is a defective one).
2. Yes it does charge with the charger. The one i got charged the phone 0 to 100 in 4 hours. So i use my tablet charger (5V, 2A) to charge the phone with another cable (about 2h and 15min from 0 to 100) as the cable which came with the phone also causes the slow charging. When connected to the PC the phone vibrates and charges. I can see the 'electric current' on the battery icon and on the lock screen I can see it says charging (%).
3. It is the first time i've connected the phone with my different PCs. First one i tried without the drivers installed then tried with driver and pc suite installed. In the second PC the driver was installed first then the phone was connected. No positive result.
4. No, no sound at all. But i remember that there was some android adb stuff in the device manager (maybe same to the ACER...), i uninstalled it without checking the box mentioned in your instructions unfortunately. Then i heard a sound when connecting the phone. And right after that another sound, in my taskbar it says unknown device and error (i forgot the error code). But nothing on my phone in the notifications, it just charges. Under USB controllers in my pc i could see Unknown usb composite device (something like that) with yellow exclamation mark. I googled and had this uninstalled. Since then no sound at all.
I cannot return the phone for exchange as the shipping cost would be too much for me to afford (about USD 70-90). I am waiting for a software update as maybe this will solve the problems. I am still with kit kat 4.4.2. But if this is a hardware issue, it would be difficult to solve this.
Also the USB OTG does not work.

Maybe you have some problems with usb
Maybe you have some problems with usb port. I use usb hubs in such situations. Somehow, gadget seamlessly connects to a PC via the the extraneous device. I found good reviews for usb hubs on topchoice.best, if you suddenly decide to take my advice.

There is no PC connection setting, no MTP settings as well.
I am on a stock based rom.
If you are using aosp or cm based you might find the mtp in storage settings.
If the previous owner defaults the connection to charge only then windows will not detect the phone.
A friend of mine did the same and i found the setting to reset back to a mtp connection when plugged in with usb.
If i remember i had to hit the ellipsis button ... The three dots and it was in there. Sorry i am vague but it was a long time ago and i am stock based.
If somebody running aosp or cm can chime in and tell him where exactly that setting is that would be nice.
Otherwise goggle it.
Good luck my friend!

Unfortunately there is no such setting. I am using the stock ROM from LG itself (android 4.4.2) and the only setting about PC connectivity is Share & connect --> LG PC Suite. There is not options for MTP even after connecting the phone. I know for my friend when he connect his, he get the notification to change to charge only, MTP etc from the notification bar, but mine nothing. I done factory reset so, I do not think that the default setting is still set to charge only. Tried everything for this issue :/
For a last resort you can try another usb cable and/or a different usb port. There are also apps on the play store that will do wifi direct.

Thanks bro. Good job.
@TonyStark, thanks for the job you have done, for us, but my friend's AT&T LG G3 does not connect to PC at all, i have tried many ways like 3845#*850# Post Setting > Diag Settings > USB Set for Diag && Settings > Diag Settings > USB Set for Diag, but still no luck, i have also installed LGUnitedMobileDriver which was also suggested by you on the first post, No Luck yet,
Edited: In the last i came to know that the USB jack or port of the G3 was badly damaged, hence, after knowing that i told my friend that he is luck because his devices is still charging with this port condition. And he went to the hardware shop happily
And you were pleased to shut down that thread, I don't know why? may be you were trying or looking to make something better than that but we lost a good hope.
Now please help me what can i do with it, it is running 4.4.2, any thing we want to do with it is failed due to no USB connection to the PC,
by the way, i know i can root it with kingoroot and install autoRec and than TWRP and can upgrade to Lollipop by the way of putting all material into SDCard but does updating solves the USB connection problem OR we will be in the same state. As far as Marshmallow is also landing soon so, I think my friend must not stay on kitkat, and lastly an LG G3 like wooping device may not live its all life without USB connection. Please help. Thanks

I have this same problem
how
you can use last version lg mobile driver
You can access the PC connection from your phone setting/storage/upper right corner option/USB PC Connection.
Then you will have 3 options of Charge tablet, Media sync (MTP), Send images (PTP)
Unfortunately even after I select MTP, my PC still can't detect my tablet LG G Pad 7.0 LTE
hi, thanks for sharing this info (new member here)
Hi everyone, I bought an LG G3 Korean version (F400S) unlocked recently. It is a good phone but I am experiencing three annoying issues (out of the box) with the phone and they are:
1. NO sound at all from the back loudspeaker. The volume is set to maximum, there is no sound from music, video, notifications, touch sound effects, or even ringtone! Surprisingly, when I connect my earphones, there is sound in my earphone, when I remove the earphone, absolutely NO SOUND from the loudspeaker. The sound from ear speaker (the one used to make call) works. I have tested the ringtone in the Hidden Menu, when the ringtone is being played, there is no sound at all.
2. The LG G3 charges well when connected with the charger and when connected with my laptop as well. However, whenever I connect the LG G3 to my laptop, it only charges, it is NOT RECOGNIZED by my laptop. I have the LG Mobile driver installed (downloaded from the LG website (Korea website)), the LG PC Suite installed, the LG Mobile Phone Support Tool installed. Whatever I do, changes the USB cable/ USB port, try in different windows version (Windows 7, 8.1 and 10), USB debugging on and off, reinstall driver, reinstall driver from the option in LG PC Suite, restart the PC several times, NOTHING happens. It is not recognized at all in my laptop. ALSO I cannot see any thing related to LG driver in the Device Manager.
3. USB OTG does not work. I have tried with a working OTG cable to connect a pendrive in my LG G3, it is not recognized, even in the File Explorer of the phone. The cable and pendrive is however detected in my other android device.
The Android version of my LG G3 is Android 4.4.2 (I have received only one update for improving Google experience (about 10 MB).
The Kernel version is 3.4.0
The build number is KVT49L.F400S11a
Software version is F400S11a
Please help me, I have googled for the problems, searched in Youtube as well but no solutions. The phone was bought online, it is original but I have no warranty and even if i need to repair, I will have to send it back to China, which will be money and time consuming. Please help me.

Thanks for the reply, I tried your suggestion, but it did not work. Again, when I tried to connect the LG G3 to the PC so as to flash with the KDZ, it says on the taskbar: 'The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it'. In the Device Manager, I get USB Device Not Recognized (Error Code 43), Unknown USB device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) Error Code 43. I googled this issue as well no success, I reinstalled the LG Drivers, rebooted my PC, again NO LG DRIVERS in the Device Manager, and whenever I connect the LG G3 I get the same message I mentioned above. Hence, I cannot upgrade to the v20F version as I cannot connect the device to my PC.
UPDATE: I cannot put the device in download mode for flashing. I hold the volume up button while connecting the cable to the USB 2.0 port. The LG logo appears on the phone and it just charges. Also, I have tried to remove everything related to the drivers and reinstall, now I do not have the Error Code 43, BUT still the phone is not recognized.

Pull the battery
Only press the volume up button while connecting the cable to the USB port.
Let me know if that works. It sounds like your pressing the power button first, pressing volume up and then plugging the usb cable in
If it doesnt theres also the adb method as well that i can tell you after

First update your drivers on your computer. If that won't work try different ports. USB 2.0 or 3.0 can make a huge difference. Your speaker is probably dead. And i don't have any experience with USB OTG so I can't help you with that

Already tried that with the '15-sec ADB' something like that + with Android studio, I have searched on youtube and google how to do it, but nothing happen when I enter the command, it just says that device not found. Whenever I connect a pendrive or my other phones to my PC, I can see in device manager, it refreshes and the driver for that particular device appears. BUT there is NO refresh nor any driver appearing when connecting the LG G3. Today I tried it with my friend's USB cable (he has the LG G3 (D855), it does not detect as well in his PC but his phone is detected in his PC. I really do not know what is the matter :crying:

No, i am still having the same issue. I think with an update it will be okay (but I have not received any update till now! I am stuck with Kitkat 4.4.2). If it is a hardware problem I will have to return it or replace the USB port or motherboard.

Good luck!
Hello guys. I try to connect my LG G3 with 5.0 Android to my PC and I get an error which says that the "USB Device not recognised." The weird thing is that it is charging. I enabled USB Debugging, I changed the cable, i tried other PC, other USB ports, turned on safe mode, with no luck. Also in Device Manager I have an explanation mark in front of "Unknown USB Device ( Device Descriptor Request Failed" which it should not appear like this. I installed LG G3 drivers, LG PC Suite and LG Support Tool again with no luck.
Do you have any experience on this issue? Thanks for your help
Hello,
My LG G3 has had a problem for a while now, and it is out of warranty so I cant get a replacement or refund and I would like to get it working. There is currently no MAC Address on the phone, so it cannot connect to the internet or use bluetooth. I was planning on rooting the phone to try and fix this, but I was stopped when the phone wasn't noticed by my PC. It does not give me the option to change between MTP, PTP or just charge but instead shows that the phone is charging as if it were plugged into a wall. I cannot access the files as there is no phone showing up on my PC, but instead found that the phone was down as LGE Mobile USB Serial Port (COM5) under Ports in Device Manager.
I have tried factory resetting the phone but this does not work.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi all.
I have a wonderful LG G7 (model G710EMW from Brazil carrier Claro).
Recently I've tried to connect it to my new car audio system that supports Android Auto and it didn't work as expected. Long story short, I've discovered that USB does not work on my phone.
Charging works alright, but anything that requires an USB connection simply does not work.
When I connect my phone to my PC, the phone starts charging, never shows the "USB connection" notification icon and the PC does not recognize anything. The phone also does not allow me to choose the kind of USB connection that is to be used (you know, MTP and the other options). When connected to PC through USB cable it displays exactly the same behaviour as if it was connected to a regular charger.
I have tried different cables, being two LG original USB-C to USB-A cables, an USB-C to USB-A from Xiaomi and a generic brand USB-C to USB-A charging and data cable. All of them show the same behaviour.
I did soft reset my phone, thinking maybe some app I downloaded could be interfering, but it also did not change anything. Also hard-reset, but no change either.
I've already tried replacing the circuit board with the USB plug but that also didn't change anything.
The only time USB works is in EDL mode, which shows expected behaviour. PC recognizes the "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM3)" port and with QFIL I can navigate through partitions and stuff seems to work.
I would try installing a different ROM, but as I would need to cross-flash to unlock bootloader (default ROM does not enter fastboot) I am stuck on the USB issue now.
Has anyone seen something like this? Any suggestions to what I could try?

I did try on another two different computers, all on Windows 10, and none of them recognized the phone except when the phone was in EDL mode.
I haven't tried installing drivers for the phone, before when it worked I never had to manually install anything for the PC to recognize my phone.
I'll give that a go, thanks!

Just to let you know, I could not find the USB driver for regular usage of the phone connected to the PC. What I found was drivers to use the phone with ADB and drivers for EDL mode.
I got to test the phone on a Linux Manjaro installation and there the computer also did not recognize any new device with "lsusb" command, whereas using a working LG G7 ThinQ the output of "lsusb" was:
Code:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 1004:61f9 LG Electronics, Inc. Optimus (Various Models) MTP Mode
Note: the working phone had the USB connectivity option set to "Charge only" (or something like that, my phone is in Portuguese).
