So.. I noticed that my phone wouldnt unlock, and on the lockscreen, there was something about missing hardware in red text. I restart my phone, and now I can't even select fingerprint in security settings. What should I do? I am from europe, so I didnt buy the phone from google. What should I say to the Seller store to get å new unit?

I'm having some issues with the tap to pay and imprint. Maybe i'm just an idiot and not doing it right. I go up to the vendor machine that has nfc and tap and it brings up android pay and then asks for my fingerprint or pin/pattern. i hold my finger on the imprint and nothing happens. it only seems to work when i put in my pin/pattern. i use the imprint to unlock the phone, tap to pay and then try again with imprint for android pay and nothing, it just takes me back to the android pay screen and i have to tap it again, so i try again with imprint and same thing. I can only get tap to pay to work with my pattern. am i doing something wrong? or in the wrong order?
It Just Works for me. I unlock the phone with Imprint, tap the reader and I’m done.
Are you sure the pay terminal has NFC payments enabled? I've seen a few places that have a pay terminal that supports NFC payment but have the NFC part disabled.
If you have Android Pay set up and the pay terminal has NFC and has it enabled you should just be able to tap your unlocked phone to the pay terminal. No need to have your finger on the sensor. In fact, if you have your finger on the sensor while trying to pay it might be causing the NFC chip in the phone to be too far away from the terminal.
If works fine for me any place that has a NFC pay terminal and has NFC payment enabled. Sadly that is almost no where.
Yea they have nfc. It used to work fine with my moto x with Google wallet. When i tap to pay it, it says enter code to unlock you phone for use. Or something like that. But the phone is unlocked already
Unlock first and with the home screen showing, then tap the phone. That's how Google tells you to do it in the "how to" section.
I entered one finger print successfully on my new Oneplus 3. I can't find how to set it to be used ever - instead of a PIN for example. It never seems to be requested. But I haven't tried to use Android Pay yet. Is there something else I should set?. - Mike
You might be just amazed by a blazingly fast fingerprint sensor. Try to unlock your phone with another finger.
Also, you don't need to do the fingerprint again for Android Pay if you've already unlocked the phone.

Well. You can unlock the phone with it, except the first time after a reboot. You can also us it in Play Store instead of a password for purchases. Chrome can use it, I have heard (not working in Firefox which I'm using).
You set a PIN in Lockscreen settings, add a few fingerprints from different hands (make sure you scan it like you would unlocking with one hand) and it'll automagically use the fingerprint sensor instead of a Lockscreen PIN (but you could use a PIN too if you want to).
The lockscreen fingerprint isn't "requested" per se, it just works. You see a small fingerprint thumbnail instead of a lock icon.
Or did I misunderstand you here?
I am having an infuriating problem and I cant figure it out.
I just switched from an Unlocked S9 to an AT&T Carrier S9.
On my unlocked S9, when the phone was in lockscreen mode I could unlock and get to my homescreen just by running my finger on the fingerprint.
For some reason, this wont work on the AT&T model. When I see the AOD screen, if I run my fingerprint on the scanner nothing happens. I need to first press on the Home button and then swipe and unlock - the old way I could just hit the fingerprint and it didnt require a swipe or anything. Just opened straight to the homescreen.
Much more efficient and I cant imagine this is something that the AT&T version is somehow blocking? Is it? Can someone please help me figure out what setting I am missing?
Thanks.
My new phone had a software update - fixed the issue
This has been bugging the ISH out of me....
On my OP6.. if i was on a call and i touched my FP sensor it unlocks the phone for me to access anything i want.
When on my P3XL doing the same doesn't produce the same results at all, i have to bring down notification window press settings and then it asks for FP.
I also have my navbar hidden, which can be affecting how this entire thing functions too, not sure.
Has someone figured out a way around this?
I just called my phone from my work number and the fingerprint sensor unlocked. Phone was locked when I called it, I called my phone, swiped up to answer. While in the call I tapped the home button and was taken to the lock screen. Touching fingerprint sensor brought me to home screen. With the screen off, touching fingerprint sensor also unlocked and brought me to the home screen.

well that's because you still have your home button..
I suppose this is more relative to those using gestures and hid their navbar...
I also did it with screen off, as I said, and it worked both ways.

Try shutting the screen off first. I just tried again and with phone locked got a call and pressed sensor with screen on and nothing happened. Tap power first then touch sensor and it should unlock. I don't have gesture nav so I can't rest that part.

What gesture app are you using. Some will pause themselves when the phone is locked. When you answer the phone while it's locked the app may have paused it's self so it's not really running. That's why your swipe up to go home is not working

Also noticed it not working when google assistant is up either
So I work with my phone often tucked under my chin. Since without the sound boost I can hear it. But that's not the issue.
My issue while YouTube red is doing it's background thing and my chin is not working as my Finger print. It says too many attempts swipe up to unlock...not enter pin just straight unlock my phone.
So move over to Google play music..it does it's background thing, so I use my none assigned finger. Rapid tap until swipe up to unlock...oh man right into my phones home screen. I'll do a a little screen recording.
Anyone else have this issue I am using a T-Mobile model full stock.
I have pattern unlock enabled. when my Z2F doesn't recognize a fingerprint multiple times, i must swipe up and use the pattern unlock.
I found my issue somehow the keep device unlock on my person was on
