Full conversion is really what the previous post meant (even though its not what they typed); as you don't need s-off to flash the GPE ROM.
S-off by sunshine, if you haven't figured that out yet: http://theroot.ninja/
After s-off, just run the GPE RUU posted in the Development section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708589

I don't want a rom i want to Complete Convert my ONe M8 to google Edition and i want to fully get updates i hate sense never will go back

Full conversion is what I gave you. You need to either read my last post, of the GPE RUU thread a little more carefully.

Ok I fully rooted Nd unlocked the bootloader . How do I flash the ruu file. I know how to S Off but when I do conversion do I I've to unroot or relock my bootloader to get updates

As long as you ran a fully official, unmodified RUU, you already have stock recovery. No further actions will be needed for future OTAs.
However, OTAs require a unrooted ROM (never rooted, rooting then unrooting doesn't work). So if you intend to root, you should make a TWRP backup of the stock unrooted ROM, before you root.

Since you run an RUU, the phone is no longer rooted. You need the stock, never rooted ROM to update in the future (as I've mentioned).
Relocking the bootloader is not necessary to update.

Quite sure you can, just find the VZW 4.4.3 firmware and flash it then flash a 4.4.3 ROM. Or if there is a 4.4.3 RUU you could do that as it'll flash everything including firmware, ROM, etc.
You need to be S-OFF to flash firmware or do an RUU though.

I'm not S-OFF, is there any way to do it, or do I just have to wait until I can get S-OFF on 4.4.4?

If you took the official 4.4.4 update you will have to wait for S-off , m sure Sunshine devs will create an exploit

I'd like to know this as well, but for a Rogers Canada HTC One M8. I can't find a clear answer with step by steps on how to do this.

Its not clear what you or the OP are asking exactly. If the intent is to "downgrade" to run firewater, then NO you can't do it.
If already s-off, just flash the desired firmware by fastboot and restore a stock nandroid.

Not looking to run firewater. Just want to go back to 4.4.3. Running the stock rom, got the OTA 4.4.4 last week and don't like it.

This kinda sucks. Broke my original M8 and the replacement came with 4.4.4 on it so I'm stuck with a stock HTC phone. I want my GPE 5.0 ROM back! Stupid Verizon.

[Q] Unroot S-On HTC One M8

I planned on converting my One M8 to a GPE edition but I couldn't gain S-Off, so now I have a phone with root access and TWPR installed. In preparation for HTCs upcoming Lollipop OTA, I would Like to bring my device back to full stock so I can install the OTA. I can't seem to find a way to do this without having S-Off. Could someone help me please?
Thanks, Nathan

Will that remove my root user permissions too?
And do I need to relock the boot loader to install OTA's?
Thanks!

sakitech didn't mention anything about losing root or relock bootloader requirements to receive OTA updates after following his video.

Oh, sorry for not being clear xD
No, I don't think you will lose root and you don't have to relock bootloader afaik.
Even so.. you can always redo the process of rooting and unlock the bootloader after OTA update.. no biggie
but if you run stock rom and recovery.. it shouldnt affect root or if ure unlocked with OTA updates
I just reverted back to stock last night with s-on. you will have to relock your bootloader (I used a tool kit, but had to boot into the bootloader myself to get the toolkit relock it) and flash a stock RUU (exe or zip). I suggest using an exe to flash if available. I have a sprint HK edition so I used an RUU exe for that model, and all worked perfectly. I was able to install the OTA update they just released with no problem after I was back to stock.
sakitech's method should work too if you want to try and keep root and the bootloader unlocked

Go back to stock ROM with S-ON

Title says all. I want to back to stock so I can get latest firmware. I am S-ON, and don't plan on paying $25 to get S-OFF. I did search, but any results were for S-OFF or had dead links.

If you unlocked bootloader/installed TWRP the right way then you will have a stock System image backup. If you don't then get one here. This can be restored in recovery after mounting system read-only, see this post. You will then also need to restore stock recovery to be able to take an OTA, details in the same post.
This stuff is all out there if you search and read!

No Need to S-Off to return to stock, Im S-On and went about it this way. Go to this link HERE and start at step 5 to get back to stock. Then for the firmware updates go to his link HERE and download the the ruu that you would need (for me it was att's offical 2.11). Then connect your phone to a pc, make sure you enable USB Debugging and give permission for the pc to connect. Run the RUU, this will upgrade you to the newest firmware and stock rom. It will remove your recovery and root so you will have the go threw the steps to flash TWRP or what ever recovery (start at step 1 at the first link posted) and then re-root your phone. After that your all good
Are all the M9 recoveries the same? The only RUU my carrier (Telus) has is on 1.32, and the links provided were AT&T's. I'm currently S-ON.

No they're not all the same. There's always a recovery in the the OTA update, so you can extract it from there on the next update if you can wait.

you could look at Android Ruu to see if they have your carriers ruu listed, my bad on the att links, the Windroid Tool at This Link Here might be able to help you find other ruus and recoveries, Ive used this tool a lot, but not sure if it fully supports your M9 version. Hope this helps you some.

HTC One M8. How to downgrade from Lollipop 5.0.1 to Kitkat or jelly bean

Title says everything.
By restoring a nandroid backup, by downgrading the firmware and software with a ruu (only possible when you have S-OFF)
About going back to a stock rom you know all about that, just try an old backup and see if it works

Firewater is offline for allmost a year now, and don't want to buy sunshine.........yeah well then there is no way to downgrade your firmware, your only chance is to restore a Kitkat nandroid backup !
And i already told you in the first reply to restore an older kitkat nandroid backup.....so that's your other way

No, it actually does not.
Do you want to return to full stock, with OTA updates and all? If so, you need to downgrade firmware as previously indicated.
Otherwise, if you just want to revert to KK ROM, you may be able to run the current LP firmware with it. First, make a nandroid of your current setup in TWRP. Just flash the desired KK ROM in TWRP. If you run into any problem on the KK ROM, revert back to LP.
Also, you haven't stated if your phone is fully stock or not (bootloader unlocked, TWRP, etc.), in the first place.
But were are moving to MM at this point. Legitimate reasons for reverting to an OS version 2 or more iterations obsolete is very questionable.
Also, this phone never had Jellybean (it launched with KK), so that would be some trick to "downgrade" to it.

Tmobile One m9 MM update available today. How to take the OTA if rooted with twrp?

I see the One m9 Marshmallow update is out today.
If we are currently rooted with TWRP and S-OFF, what do we need to do to get the OTA?
I assume flash the stock recovery back first, take the OTA, then reflash twrp and root again?
Did I miss anything?
You have to be 100% stock (other than s-off) to take an OTA, which means running a RUU.
But being s-off, why not just wait until the firmware gets posted and update manually?

How would you update manually?
Manually - in case of S-OFF - means flashing firmware that has e.g. been extracted from the OTA using fastboot.
In such a case it is even possible to exchange the stock recovery by the latest TWRP, to be able to flash custom ROMs right away after doing the manual upgrade.
As those named firmware zip-files in most cases you're going to find around this forum, are no longer files which are signed by HTC they can only be flashed if your device got S-OFF'd.
That's as far as a brief explanation of the term "manually" is possible.
