Your link works perfect
Setup is not compatible with 64 bit win 7 ultimate
But all you need to do is:
0. Extract the Zip file to any folder
1. Goto Device manager
2. Right click the s1bootdownload icon (which will have an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle)
3. Click update driver
4. Use manual install from computer option
5. select the folder where you extracted the zip file
6. Hit ok
7. Works like charm

The best version is the one provided as part of flashtool
(Then you don't need the -i 0xfce each time you execute fastboot)

Quick tutorial for unlocking new Xperia devices. Although there is one on the SE developer website, this thread can be used for users to discuss their problems during unlocking etc.
Warning! This procedure will wipe the /data partition of your phone.
1. Download:
-fastboot package: http://www.multiupload.com/BMJ24IL6XY
-32/64bit drivers: http://www.multiupload.com/0XZV1LXRVA
2. Go to: http://unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com/instructions
3. At the bottom click 'Continue' and enter your IMEI (type *#06# to find out), name and email address
4. You should now receive your unique unlock key
5. Extract fastboot.rar and open fastboot folder
6. Hold SHIFT and right click on the background of the folder
7. Select 'Open command window here'
8. Connect your phone in fastboot mode (turn phone off, hold menu button and plug in USB Cable)
9. In the cmd windows type in fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version
10. If a value is returned, it means the phone is correctly connected
11. Type in fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY and replace KEY with the key provided in step 4.
12. You're device should now be bootloader unlocked
If this tutorial is too much for you then itskapil wrote a step-by-step guide (and recorded a video also):

Very funny
I know this procedure, as I mentioned it myself earlier to someone over here !
If I post a question here, it´s because i did not work for me
( -> Point 1 & 2 )
You said it said there was no x64 driver, I quoted a post that provides one. The problem isn't Windows 7 x64. I assume you've uninstalled the device and started from scratch?

I'm on W7 x64 and it worked for me without any problem at all so i guess it's not a 64 bit driver problem. if you insist i can give you the drivers from my OS, maybe your's corrupt or something.
cheers
Oooh I get an idea
I unchecked "Show only compatible materials", then I was able to see want I wanted and installed it.
I think now it´s ok, but in fact, I have nothing to flash
what does it mean when it says "it will delete the partition"??

The links that you have given to download the drivers don't work they either force you to download ilivid.exe or another zoom downloader. I have tried downloading and installing both but both don't give me the drivers. Something is wrong can you please point me to a decent URL for downloading the 64bit drivers for Windows 7.

I installed Flashtool, from Flashtool folder I installed drivers for fastboot and my device and that's all I needed to do.
Not helping much
It's all very well getting all snotty and telling people to use the search, but PLEASE keep your links up to date.
I have a problem with my Arc LT15i and am trying to unlock the boot loader. I have x64 Windows 8 and cannot get Windows to see the phone. ALL of the links I have found on the internet, here, at Sony Ericsson and any other place I have found are ALL dead links or try to foist some crapware on you.
I get the blue light on the phone indicating it is trying to enter Fastboot, but Windows will not see it, it appears as S1 Boot Fastboot in Device Manager, but no driver that I've found will work.
Flashtool may be very good, but it only works if you have an unlocked boot loader (according to Sony Ericsson).
If anyone has a Windows 8 64bit driver I'd really appreciate it if they'd pass on where to get it.

i have a lt18i arc s with android 4.0.4 build 4.1.L.0.8 there are loads of threads on here but not are for this version, can someone point me in the correct direction.
i went on the sony developers blog and used the *#*#service#*#* and phone software version is:

GENERIC-user
all the posts have 4.1.B.0.431 not 4.1.L.0.8 i really would like root access and im stuck
It doesn't matter what build it is. The procedure is the same for all ROMs:
0. backup important things
1. downgrade to .403 (only kernel)
2. root (doomlord)
4. upgrade back to .404 (only kernel)
5. enjoy
LE. Whoops! Sorry! Now I notice that really exists a new firmware certified on 19 june. Anyway, you still can flash a *.431 fw.

Here it is.
In this thread it is somehow different from what I said.
But, essentially, I did what I said: I had already the .404 installed, I downgraded to .403 flashing the `ready to root` (do not wipe anything [unchecked all], and leave kernel only [check all but kernel]), than rooted the phone and, finally, upgrading back to .404 using the initial kernel only.

Perfect guide for rooting U.K. Three Xperia Arc LT18i 4.1.L.0.8 only...
Rooting your mobile may void the warranty and you are doing it at your own risk. Sony would be in no way responsible for any damage...
Go to settings > Security > Mark "Unknown sources"
Settings > Developer options > Mark USB debugging
Settings > Xperia > connectivity > USB connection mode > select MSC mode
================================================== ==================================================
You should have
Flashtool
http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
------Download------
1 ) Arc S - Kernel
http://www.4shared.com/file/qNTvdPI6/Lt18i_41A0562_Kernel.html
2) Go to C:/ Drive > flashtool > firmwares > delete everything present and Put the kernel
3) Run Flashtool click on the flashing icon ( left side below "file" option)
Select flashmode > ok
Setup should be like this > select OK
Follow the steps connect your mobile and flash.
Flashtool may show error after flashing kernel, no worries. Even your build number, android version won't change. Everything would remain same. So please don't go to phone settings to check anything
4) After flashing restart your device, It may not start completely, may remain at Sony logo or blank/black.
Whatever the status is, just restart your device and proceed with the rooting--->
( Make sure you close flashtool before running the rooting toolkit )
Now connect your mobile to PC and Root Your Phone
If you face problem in downloading the toolkit then here it is

This guide is for everyone who wishes to flash the latest ION firmware and then proceed on to root it.
Though this guide is for Xperia ION, but I suppose, this is quite universal and applicable to all Xperia Phones.
Read carefully and understand clearly the process before starting the actual process of flashing. When in doubt, ask your queries in this forum and wait for it to get answered.
The Xperia ION Lt28 exists in 4 variants.
AT&T version with LTE. ( Lt28at )
Rogers Version with LTE. ( Lt28rogers )
International Version with LTE. ( Lt28i )
Version without LTE. ( Lt28h )
Getting Ready
There a a few very essential things that need to be sorted out before you could flash a firmware. I am listing them below.
Connecting the phone to the PC and making it recognize the phone.
(Windows only):
When you connect the phone to the PC for the first time, the phone will prompt you to install the PC Companion S/w on your pc. Go ahead and Install it. In addition to this, essential drivers required for connectivity will also be installed. In windows , both MTP and MSC modes of connectivity work. MTP mode allows access to both Internal and External SD card. MSC mode will allow access of only the External SD card.
Click to collapse
(Linux Only):
It is a little tricky in the case of linux to achieve connectivity. The following are the steps you need to follow:
1. Open Command Window, “ terminal” in case of Gnome base Linux and “konsole” in the case of KDE based Linux. It should be easily accessable through menu.
2. Inside the Command Window type “ sudo gedit /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules” if you are using Gnome or “sudo kwrite /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules” for KDE.
3. Add the below lines into the file and save it.
#Sony Ericsson
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="0fce", MODE="0666"
4. Execute the following command from command window:
chmod a+r /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules
5. Restart Linux now.
6. Connect the phone to the PC, open Command Window and type “ lsusb” without the quotes and press Enter. You should see an output, and you should see a line with the following:
ID 0fce:6177 Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB
7. If you don't see it, then you have made a mistake in the previous steps. Retrace the steps again to see that they are correct.
8. Open the phone, go to settings and select Xperia Settings and then select connectivity. Select USB Connection mode as “ Mass Storage Mode (MSC)”. The MTP mode does not work in linux. The support is not yet available.
9. Now when you connect the phone to the Pc it will mount the external_sd card automatically.
The above steps just ensures that the Phone is recognized by the PC and

Proceed to POST#2 for FLASHING Steps.
Flashing and Rooting ICS on any Xperia ION
Flashing Firmware:
Now comes the easiest part.
So if you have completed the steps from post#1, then you are ready to flash the firmwares. It does not matter if your ION is on Gingerbread or Ice Cream Sandwich, the process of flashing remains the same. Flashing firmwares does not require Bootloader's to be Unlocked.
First and foremost you need to downlod the latest firmware for your Phone. So you head over to this site.
Firmware Links ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1752345 )
After downloading the firmware, follow the Screen shot attachments with the steps below:
1. Start flashtool and click the lightening icon.
2 .Select Flash Mode.
3 .Select firmware to flash.
4. Click OK to start flash.
5. When the screen 5 pop's up, power down the phone. Press power + volume down button simultaneously. If the green led lights up, then the phone is in flash mode.
Flashtool will start flashing automatically. Once it is done flashing, it will show a message that the phone is disconnected.
Now detach the usb cable from the phone and press the power button to start the phone.

Proceed to POST#3 for ROOTING Steps
Rooting:
FOR LOCKED BOOT LOADERS
As per the developer of this method, it works only on ICS and JB.
To root the phone, first you need to download the rooting kit from here.
At the time of writing, the latest version available is Version 15. ( http://ul.to/h44f6vni )
This is known to work well with Ion.
Also there is Version 13 which works well for me. ( http://www.mediafire.com/?1q4nt6b63ooaf1s )

Updated Post 2 with rooting method for ICS.
I used this to root before you posted it but it slowed ICS down to point out was almost unusable. Any thoughts on why? Did I screw something up maybe?

I followed the above instructions as it is. I had pre-rooted gingerbread.
ICS is pretty fast, not as fast as Gb, but no lags either.
May be some problem with the ICS Rom zip. Try downloading it again. None have reported this problem.
I'm running it now and it flies. But as soon as I root it happens. I tried it twice from stock ATT and generic .111.

Am I reading wrong? But I currently have ICS. So do I need to like re flash gingerbread then go back to ICS?

I think You will need to. Both the batch files need to be executed, to be able to get root.

So I want to make sure I have this straight!
I have a stock ATT Ion 2.3.7
3. Application Settings: [Unknown sources] checked {Allowed}
4. Application Settings: Development [USB debugging] checked {Allowed}
5. Run Step 1.bat
6. Install Ice Cream Sandwich without wiping anything.
(wipe data, wipe cache and wipe apps log are not selected).
Once flashing is done, start the phone manually. It does not reboot automatically.
7. Application Settings: [Unknown sources] checked {Allowed}
8. Application Settings: Development [USB debugging] checked {Allowed}
9. Run step 2.bat
And this will give me ROOTED ICS 4.0.4 with locked bootloader?
Then what do I flash to get my LTE radio back? Just the Stock ATT baseband?
Sorry for the noobish question, my Ion is less than a week old and I havent picked insurance through best buy yet so I don't want to brick before I insure it

FYI - this does have CWM in it, but because it was designed for the Xperia S it doesn't work completely. If someone would be so kind to redesign the CWM in that file for us that would be awesome!
Thanks to @Kashamalaga for providing the package file and the easiest tutorial possible :good:
Thanks to @Chainfire for creating such an great app (i.e SuperSU) :good:
Okay, first of all did you downloaded the package given in the guide ?
Once you download it, extract it then you will have two folders, One named as Kingroot and the other named Nokia X USB drivers
and then download the adt bundle from Google
Here's the Link in case you didn't get the adt bundle - DOWNLOAD
Extract it, you will have 2 folders and an Application
Open the Application named SDK Manager
Then from the packages, select and install Platform tools
Once, you installed platform tools, navigate to SDK folder > then Platform-tools folder
Now, in the Platform tools folder, Right click anywhere while holding shift
Click on Open Command Window here
Then run this command : adb devices
See if your device get's listed
If it doesn't get listed, then Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager
Plug-in your Nokia X
With MTP selected in your mobile
Now, you will have Nokia X device listed in the Device Manager
Right Click on it, then click on Update driver
Browse file for USB driver manually
Select ADB driver folder from the package you downloaded from the guide on forum.xda-developers.com (i.e this - NokiaX USB Drivers\nokia\usb_driver and Click OK
Install the drivers
Then again navigate to sdk> platform tools
Then again Open command Window there
Run the command adb devices again
And see if your Nokia X gets listed, the device should be c268 something like that
Once you done this all, Open Kingroot folder
Disconnect and connect your Nokia X
Kingroot app should detect it in few mins
Then follow the on-screen instructions
After the rooting process, your Nokia X re-boots and the SuperSU asks for permission, Grant it. Voila !! You are done now. You may disconnect your Nokia X now and enjoy the Rooted the Nokia X
9449295 1494
If your devices is not listed after after step 23 , then do the following -
a) Edit the file C:\Users\<user>\.android\adb_usb.ini and add line
0x0421
b) adb kill-server
c) adb start-server
d) adb devices
it says "Root failed need adb" after click on root in kingoroot app

Does it just says root failed ? Maybe you should start the rooting process from the beginning of the tutorial (or) maybe your device is still on the previous Software version (i.e v10.0.3), make a check and do update your device if it's the previous update on your device and then try again rooting your device using this tutorial.
