Hi,
I unpacked my new HTC One X grey yesterday and quickly noticed a little dodgy pixel down at the bottom left corner. It isn't a dead pixel, but it doesn't seem to be a stuck pixel either.
What I noticed was that when using an app which has the little black menu bar down the bottom one pixel was always shining white.
But when I used the 'Colours Dead Pixel Detect and Fix It' app I discovered that this little pixel can be any colour, including black -- but that it just doesn't take the colour its supposed to - the detect and fix app has a black menu bar down the bottom so the pixel should always be black, but the pixel takes on the colour which is flashing on the rest of the screen. When the screen is blue the pixel is blue, when the screen is white the pixel is white, when the screen is black the pixel is black. But it should be black all the time with that app.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? Is it a software problem? I tried restarting the phone with no luck.
Thanks!

get a replacement, it's a hardware problem properly.
I also have one pixel like this.. thought about replacing the phone but my unit doesn't have other problems so i decided to live with it for now.. gonna send it to repair some day.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
if its only a pixel i wouldnt worry about it, your eyes and brain will get used to it, however if you can return it still then go return it otherwise if you are out of return period then just keep it if everything else ok
thanks
What do you think it is though? So I can tell them when I call to have it replaced. It's not a dead pixel as they're just dark, and stuck pixels are just a single colour... ?
Thanks!
white pixel? visible at bright area and angles?
probably hot pixel
It's not just white though - it seems to take on the colour of whatever is brightest near it - so if the bulk of the screen is red then it's red, if the bulk of the screen is green then it's green. But if the rest of the screen is black then it's black. If it were a hot pixel wouldn't it always be white even if the bulk of the screen were black?
Thanks!

yup this is what im talking about, i returned my second HOX for this reason
its either a hot pixel or spec of dust under the glass
I've left it flashing with that stuck pixel fixing app in the probably vain hope that it will work - really don't want to have to wait for a replacement!

sorry bro don't bother pixel fixer wont help with it
its not a dead pixel
had the same and returned phone. for me, the pixel was always black.
where exactly was it located at yours? mine was in the left corner as well. more exactly: when you are in the homescreen and have the google play icon in the down left corner, the pixel was in the word "play" under the icon.
Mine's in the black menu bar at the bottom - on the home screen just to the right of the green mouthpiece on the telephone icon.

It doesn't sound like a faulty pixel in the typical sense, more the pixel connection has become coupled to another one, sort of a short circuit somewhere. This could be a fault in the LCD screen, the ribbon connection, or the LSI driving the display.
Either way just call it a dead pixel, as long as you describe how they will see it so they confirm it isn't right it shouldn't be a problem.

Phil
Thanks guys, much appreciated. They're sending a replacement on Tuesday. let's hope this one is flawless!
Hi guys, I recently replaced the glass on my note 2 and the repair was successful. Everything on the phone is fully functional.
However, I notice that the phone sometimes switches to a strange discolored mode and then back to normal.
When the display is discolored, it looks like what is happening in this video:
http://youtu.be/DbytxfdBZuE
So does anyone know what the issue is? Have I damaged the ribbon cable somehow?
The LCD and digitizer seem to be unscathed. When the screen is not in "discoloration mode" the colors are crisp and clear.
Something really strange I've noticed is that sometimes the screen only discolors when I pull down the status bar. It will only be discolored for the status menu. The rest of the screen will remain fine. This does not happen all the time. Sometimes the entire screen has no discoloration at all.
I'm not sure what I've done but, any feedback is appreciated, thanks!
Hi guys,
I don't know how to describe what happened to the lcd display of my phone. It is like that all of a sudden the resolution is halfed. Actually I noticed that half of the lines of the display are blacked and not powered... If you see the photo I took of my callendar widget you will notice that some lines are not visible. Next by next line is black, if you zoom in the picture you will understand the issue.
Also I had some months ago replaced my lcd with a genuine samsung one because it was cracked. It was working perfectly until now. I opened the case and reseated all the cables but no luck... Any ideas what maybe causing this?? The screen looks auwful as it is now

Hi,
please have a look at the attached image, cause its hard to explain.
It was kind of strange... it started with some cloudy pixels in the middle of the screen, they went down to where they are now and got more intense.
Its now there since about 4 weeks without change.
Anyone experienced it? I guess I need to replace the screen, or is there any other chance? In case I have to replace it, what would I need to get? The touch screen digitzer or the full lcd display?
Thanks
Susi

Although i'm not an expert on this, But i should suggest you to replace Digitizer only because it seems like Display is okay just chemical imbalance between digitizer and display panel.
If you've proper tool to disable the device and with some flat hard plastic or something try to take this to the edge where it easily go out. To me Display seems okie. Because such things happen when we put phone in tight jeans and due to over compression such happens but it has nothing to with display panel, its just chemical in between display and digitizer.
I had an iPod 4th Gen,. Same kinda Dark black spot i've noticed after single drop on top right corner and later it disappear automatically. So just saying try that first rather buying whole new panel or digitizer. Flat blunt plastic to take that bubble to the side
Hello everyone
I bought an LG G4 last week and it had a clearly visible mesh pattern on the screen. It was most visible on white bright backgrounds. It was uniform over the whole screen. The funny part is you could also see it when the screen was off and there was a bright light shining on it.
I had it traded in at the shop and they agreed that it was a defect so they traded it in for another G4. This one has it too, but it's much less visible.
I have seen that the display models do not have this mesh thing at all even on the brightest setting. Some do some don't.
Does anyone else here see it? I have a serial number that starts with 511 if that matters.
I also have this problem. I have to see some display units because it may be the way that pixels are arranged. It those dispaly units are ok I am going to get a replacement.
