My review of these gloves I've now had for a couple of weeks....
Glider Gloves! These things are about the best touch screen gloves I've ever used. I've got the Urban style which is the thinner version just because I use them only for short walks to and from my car, and outside for 15-20 minutes at a time while taking my breaks at work. I prefer the thinner version because I like the extra dexterity you get from them, and I live in Washington state where it doesn't get extremely cold (no worse than 25 degrees usually).
These glove work excellent with my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+... I never seem to have any problems navigating between menu's or texting. Also I might mention the customer service is great! When I mentioned the Large's may be too big, Glider Gloves sent me a new pair of Mediums right away.
The only parts of them I have issues with, are the slight fitment problems having to do with too much palm material. Now this part of my review is completely relative because everyone's hands are different shapes and sizes, and it would be silly to knock a product that's made to be pretty much universal. I'm 6'1 @ 235lbs... I feel like I have hands proportioned to my height and weight. I ordered the Larges and they fit pretty well but there was quite a bit extra of palm material. When I received the mediums, I enjoyed the extra dexterity from the tighter fingertips, but alas, the length of the fingers was too short and again still extra palm material. At this point I haven't figured out which ones I like more, the mediums or larges. But aside from the sizing issues with "MY" hands, the quality is top notch!
I especially like the rubberized material on the palm area. It provides a very nice grip when holding my phone or driving with the steering wheel. I'm assuming the silver thread you see in the glove is the conductive material that lines the glove giving you the touch capability with capacitive phones. It feels no different than the black threading and actually gives it a nice aesthetic look that's pleasing to the eyes. On a side note, my jacket has some velcro on it, so watch out if yours does because the velcro definitely sticks to the gloves and will make your glove tips all fuzzy after repeated contact with velcro, just a heads up
Overall these are the best touchscreen gloves I've owned so far and think I'll even be ordering some for the wifey. Aside from my personal fitment issues, I think the gloves are made of great material and workmanship.
* I'm giving my honest unbiased review on this product. It was provided to me free of charge in exchange for my review.

Luxury Hard Plastic & Metal Cover Case Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus

I saw this within other posts but I didn't see that it had it's on thread so I'll post some pictures of it...
I bought this off ebay for $8 shipped. As you could probably figure out by the price it's definitely not metal, but rather all plastic. The metal finish back portion looks like some sort of thin aluminum brushed metal sticker and you might not be able to tell by the photos but the writing on the back is elevated and not flush against the backing and kind of "scrapy".
It actually fits really really well, almost as if a second skin, but it's a finger print magnet and theres no hole for the 3pin.
For $8 it's not bad as a backup case but you get what you pay for, but it's not too bad.

Does this work with NFC? How about cell/wifi/other radio signals?
Just to be clear this thing is plastic and not metal.
I don't know about NFC because I never use it or have anything to test it with.
Do you have an extended or normal battery?
I got mine in the mail the other day, ordered from here ("DELUXE" instead of "LUXURY" ): http://www.ebay.ca/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290671148814
I got the black one, like backspacr, but this seller has other colours (silver, pink, blue, red) available as well!
The case fits my GSM/HSPA+ model with a normal battery perfectly, though it can be a little creaky if you push on the tiny strips of plastic just over the volume and power buttons.
The plastic itself isn't black, but a darker, glossy shade of the Galaxy Nexus plastic, making it quite complimentary where the ends sticks out. I believe there is some metal plating on the "brushed" black backplate, as it feels cool to the touch most of the time. The whole thing feels quite good in the hand.
I was originally interested in it since it retained the branding, and unfortunately it's bevel out instead of bevel in, but that doesn't take away too much from the appeal.
No effect on cell signal, with wifi taking a bit of a hit (5-10 dBm), which causes some throughput issues, as I've noticed choking on video streaming when I'm at the far end of my house. As for NFC, I'll update this once I get it back from warranty replacement for the screen defect.
Overall a pretty good case, especially for the money, though I wouldn't get it again due to the effects on wifi throughput.
...And it completely blocks NFC. Terrible. Guess I'm in the market for a new case...
Edit: Perfect for NFC - Anymode Cool Case. Very nice in black.

Review - Tech21 Special Ops, Impact Band, Rock rep, DIY earbuds

Received a free blue Rock replica snap case when I renewed my contract. Love the grip, feel and low profile. Sadly, it's only good for putting the phone face down and preventing the side/back from scratches...and it matches pebble blue well but looks too kid'ish. Biggest concern is it offers no drop protection at all.
Anyway, I wanted a Tech21 Impact band because I was sold by the youtube vids offering full protection. I got the Special Ops which essentially is the Impact Band soft shell and a 2 piece reinforced soft touch polycarb shell, combined to be a rugged tank of a case. It was free, so I'm going to complain.

IMPACT BAND
The translucent smoke finish matches well with the pebble blue and allows the 3DO to be seen satisfying the more mature and geeky look for me.
Looks like it'll protect just fine although I'm not going to put it to the test. Fit is tight, holes line up, ports are nice and opened, volume gives good clicking feedback. Lip allows for face down. Downside is power button feels a bit soft and spongy and with the 3DO, it adds a bit of width to the overall feel. Also leaves oil/ fingerprints

SPECIAL OPS SHELL
This thing is a TANK. With the Impact Band, this is the ultimate protection rugged case.
I'll probably only be using this case when hiking and biking, but finish has a soft feel, fit and finish is very good, locking door for the USB port is very solid. Downside is it adds significant bulk to your phone.

3M CF VINYL WRAP
Was bored, and since the Impact Band is translucent, I wanted to change it up a little. Easy to apply, but due to the curves on the edges, no way you can get a perfect clean wrap, even with heat. Looks very cool, but I'd only do it if you're using a bumper or clear case...wouldn't do it naked.
OEM S3 EARBUD CABLE with SONY MDR-EX300 IEM.
I love me my music and I love the OEM control/mic, so to have the best of both worlds, behold, my Frankenphone. The Sony buds sounds amazing, and one day I'll invest in the 700's. These are the perfect choice due to price (you won't find better sounding IEM at this price point), and the easiness to take apart and quality of sound.
Apologies for the huge post and wall of text..

[REVIEW] NuTouch Gloves

If there's anything I hate more than snot dripping down my nose in a snowstorm, is not being able to use my phone while out in the cold. Back before capacitive touchscreens it wasn't too complicated of an endeavor to place a phone call because you could bang your fingers on the buttons to make a phone call through your gloves. Now it is more complicated than an adult trying to open a child-proof pill bottle.
Newer Technology hopes to change all that. Ok, maybe not the snot dripping thing (or the child-proof pill bottle problem for adults), but they have come up with some gloves which enable you to use your touchscreen while out in the cold AND keep your fingertips from going numb. They call them "NuTouch Gloves" and they are available for purchase on Amazon. They market these for iCrap devices, but they obviously work just as well on all touchscreen devices.
These gloves do in fact work. I am able to slide my finger across my Galaxy S III and Note 10.1 just as if my fingers were naked. I haven't once had an issue with having to duplicate a swipe or a touch due to these gloves thanks to the special electricity-conducting fibers on the finger tips. I did, however, have issues with my hands becoming cold as these gloves are not very thick. They also make my hands more slick, thus causing me to lose control of my phone a few times. Luckily no damage was done, but my life flashed before my eyes a few times. Even with a rubber case on my phone it was still slick.
Overall for the price you can get these for at Amazon, roughly ~$10USD, they are a bargain and make a great gift.

Those look almost identical to the AGloves pair I got when I started playing Ingress.

Yeah I saw those on Amazon as well. These are nice and work - just don't give me a lot of warmth but they do the job.
Cool! Thanks for the post :cyclops: My mom's looking for a glove like this
hellow
Worth buying, and which is recommended for online store?
How's the stitching on them? I have a pair of touch screen gloves but they were cheap, 3 dollars from ebay, and the stitching is horrible! And they're the ones with the silver tips so it says to the world "hey i'm using touch screen gloves". .. ugly. Thanks for the review. I may consider these.

The stitching is good on these - good quality in comparison to some others I have used.

Sophisticase Frameless Case Review

Thanks to MobileFun for providing me with the Sophisticase Frameless Case, they have a large range of accessories for any mobile/tablet device especially the nexus 7 so it is worth checking them out
The case is slim overall and has a fake leather textured finish on the outside and on the inside we have a grey soft touch fabric. All of the buttons and ports are accessible.

As you can see, we also have a hand strap.
Fitting the nexus 7 is very easy, the fit overall is pretty much perfect, you are able to remove the case quickly if needed.
One of the areas that I really like about this case is that you can use it as a desk stand, there are two angles to choose from that make it perfect for video watching.
The case is pretty light.
Another feature I love is that the case is compatible with the sleep and wake function of the nexus 7 i.e. when you open the case, the screen automatically turns on and when you close the case, the screen goes off.
In terms of protection, it is great for protection from scrapes and minor knocks but I wouldn't expect it to do too well come to high drops onto concrete...
Conclusion:
Overall this is a fantastic case especially when you consider the price! It might not be the best for protection from high drops but it will protect the nexus 7 tablet from the majority of small drops, scrapes and most importantly protect the screen from scratches. If you are wanting more protection, you will just have to put up with the extra bulk and weight from the likes of the Trident Aegis Case and Seidio Dilex Case.
I can't really fault this case at all except for the speaker cut outs, they are poorly done and cover most of the speaker grille holes.
Pros:
Cheap
Acts as a landscape desk dock with two angles to choose from
Minimal bulk & light
Nice finish overall
Sleep/Wake magnet function
Cons:
Speaker cut outs poorly done
Looks exactly like the $5 Moko case I bought back in July...
Sums it up nicely.

Armadillotek Vanguard case

Got this case two days after I got my S21 5G. I don't know how some people do it, going caseless with modern phones. I could barely keep a hold of the thing.
I've had "rugged cases" in the past for other phones, and this one is definitely on the thicker side. I mean this in a good way. Every time I've tried cases that claim to be rugged AND slim, its always a tradeoff. So don't think you are going to get both together.
All that said, this case is very solid. The texture is just grippy enough that I have a solid hold on it, without feeling rubbery. Very unlike all the TPU cases that have always felt cheap to me. Regarding a couple of the features.

At first I though these were just cosmetic, made to look like hex-bolt heads for that "rugged" look. However, they extend just a hair past the surface and have a slightly more rubbery texture, so they function very well as grippy feet on smooth surfaces.
Compared to the button covers on other rugged cases I've had these do a good job of firmly contacting the real buttons on the phone. So far I haven't had issues with accidental presses or not pressing them when I want. The force required feels very natural.
Just my opinion, but one thing you WILL have to compromise on with any good rugged case is the Samsung Edge panel feature. The raised edge of the rugged case will make it difficult to access the slider that reveals the Edge Panel, especially with meaty fingers like mine. Honestly, it isn't a feature I really made use of on my S9, and the case I had then wasn't raised at the sides making it more accessible. However, that came at the cost of MUCH less protection in an accident.
Last of all, the price is great. My only real gripe is my wife has a Samsung S20 FE, and wanted one for herself. Unfortunately, Armadillotek doesn't make one for that specific model.
I hope this helps someone else looking for a case like I was.
Nom
EDIT: Thought I should add that it DOES work with the Samsung wireless charger I had picked up a couple years ago for the S9 that I had. So not "too" thick for that to work.
