After a successful permanent UNLOCK - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

I Have successfully unlocked my t mobile edge+ for any GSM carrier. My questions is now that i have no restraints (Rooted/Unlocked) can i use any rom now. I know the CDMA versions verizon/sprint are off limit but other GSM versions? Or am I still burdened by the G928T model forever??

I have an ATT Edge+ that I use with T-mobile without wifi calling, looking for the same answer but apparently are some hardware differences that won't let you use ROMs from other versions of the phone.

You can use the international roms for the edge + just make sure when you click on them look for the rom that's compatible with the T model, you could also use the T mobile note 5 too

Umm you didnt need to do the carrier unlock to flash any "GSM ROM," only an unlocked bootloader was needed...
I am interested in knowing, which of these "GSM ROMs" were you looking forward to flashing, now that you're no longer hitched?

T Mobile S4 on AT&T - Which Roms?

Hey everyone,
I'm definitley not a noob at flashing roms / rooting / unlocking , etc....Been flashing phones like crazy the last few years (s3,note2,htc one, nexus, etc)But I have one question that I cannot find the answer anywere.. I bought a T Mobile S4 which was blacklisted on T Mobile so I am using it on AT&T wtih full LTE.. Which Roms do I flash for this thing? Do I flash TMO roms or ATT roms, or does the kernal flash just matter? If this is a stupid question, sorrry! lol. Just don't want to brick this thing.
Thanks Guys.

Not trying to sound TOO condesending, but you haven't read much of anything in these forums if you couldn't find your answer to that. All variants of the S4 can flash each other's ROMs as long as you immediately flash a kernel for your specific device. You have a T-Mobile device so you will need kernels from this section; but you are free to use ROMs for the AT&T, Sprint, i9505, etc. Just don't flash anything via Odin that's not meant for your specific device, and don't flash anything at all meant for the Exynos version (i9500).

Yeah I know most ROMS support all Variants but I wasn't 100% sure. I must of been searching the wrong things....I was confused with the kernal flashing as well. I have always owned a Carrier Specific device and never have used an unlocked device thus far, so I was a bit confused . Thanks for Clarifying though! :good:
Infamous S4 ROM has an Aroma installer that will support multi carriers.
Look at the change log for more details.

How are you still using the blacklisted phone if it's blocked for tmobile? Thought the two carriers shared imeis?

I was going to say the same thing. If you're blacklisted on T-Mobile, you'll be blacklisted on AT&T. I have a blacklisted T-Mobile and any sim (even international) is blacklisted while in the US. However, in other countries, it works fine.

[Q] unlocked Samsung Galaxy SIII on AT&T network

Hi,
I have SIM unlocked, rooted Tmobile's samsung Galaxy SIII (SGH-T999); put AT&T SIM card and it is working fine. As a fundamental question on loading custom ROMs, should I be picking ROMs from AT&T forum in XDA or Tmobile in XDA??? So far I have been using Avatar/Liquid Smooth ROM built for Tmobile....still it doesnt make sense to me as i am currently on AT&T....I dont want to brick my phone by doing something wrong.
Can someone reply?
Thanks
Mahesh
BTW - ignore my signature....i am unable to edit them - dont know why - there is no option to edit signature!

You should flash rom's specific to your phones hardware/model number. It seems to me *most* of the hardware is the same between the i747 and t999 from what i've read but always best to err on the side of caution.

by doing that, in my case, would my ROM be optimized for AT&T??

Most likely, but tread with caution. The only issue you might encounter are APN settings that you could always edit manually. From what I understand, the T-Mobile Galaxy S3 is almost identical to the AT&T one, and in certain cases, some people have been able to run T-Mobile roms on the AT&T one.

The only thing that is carrier specific as far as custom ROM's are concerned is the ability to connect to the network in question, its the hardware the ROM is designed for that is important, minus any carrier bloat apps that may be included in a ROM (non issue if using an AOSP based ROM). Flashing software to an unintended device will most likely be bad news. As drx said worst case you would have to manually enter the apn settings. If i recall the only real difference in the TMo and ATT S3's is the fact that the T999 can connect to the 1700mhz band and the i737 can't (natively).

[Q] At&t phone on Tmobile network

A friend upgraded his phone to the note 3 and gave me his At&t note 2. I am with Tmobile. I am going to have it unlocked. I want to root it and flash a rom to it. Since its was on At&t network do I flash it with a rom from the At&t section or Tmobile section? If i am missing anything else that is required other than which section to use for rom flashing please feel free to inform me.

You can flash just about any rom from the AT&T section because most do not flash over the modem you have installed. I believe the DN3 rom is the only exception to this rule. For AOSP based roms, you can flash any of the roms here. You may also want to check the N7105 XDA area because it has more options than the TMO Note 2 section.
Bajan will probably add more clarification here because he has a TMO and AT&T Note 2 and visits all 3 forum areas.
save some Dough!!
I have a AT&T i337 lost service then went to local cell store.. Switched to Met==PCS.. 60/month unlimited data.. Plus they are on the T-Mobile network just as good just cheaper.. I haven't been throttled at all that I can tell...
I have the ATT Note 2 and currently using it with TMo and I am getting LTE speed and HSPA+ on the reform 1900 area. You don't have to do anything with the modem as long as you have it unlocked. I have only been using ATT based rom on my phone. And everything works, MMS, data, call etc. I do encounter some issue where it hangs while pulling data (not too often) but for most part it works great. I either just have to turn the network on/off or just a restart. I do not use any of the Tmo software like visual voice mail or wifi calling (as you won't be able to use it with any of the ATT ROM).
I have a One X on T-Mobile from AT&T and so far everything is great. Just have to be in a 1900 MHZ or LTE area to get high speed data.
Sent from my HTC One XL using XDA Free mobile app
I also have the i317 on T-Mobile. I am using the latest MK6 modem for the i317. You can also optionally perform the AWS Mod to enable 4G on the 1700MHz band. Whatever you do, make sure you do not flash a modem meant for the T-Mobile Note 2 (T889) or you will end up with a brick. As was already mentioned any of the ROMs in the Development section will work for this device.

SGH-I337 to Tmobile?

Anyone confirm that you can unlock the ATT variant and flash it to be fully functional on all Tmobile bands?
Going to pick one up but need to be sure it will work. Thanks!!!
Consider it confirmed...plenty have done it including me. You may not be able to change the kernel, but there are custom touchwiz roms you can use. Just read read and read some more before making any changes.
Sent from my i747 on T-Mobile that's getting awesome LTE speeds.

if you ever updated to kit kat or newer basebands+modems, you are out of luck with Loki or installing ANY aesop custom roms or Cyanogenmod. They have towelroot but that's enough for some people, but you are stuck with laggy Touchwiz. It's worth paying extra for the Tmobile version

Can I convert my Verizon Note 4 SM-N910V to a Generic Note 4?

My question is simply: Can I convert my SM-n910V to a different version, such as SM-910A or SM-910X?
I am not on Verizon. I do not want any Verizon related software on my phone. I wouldn't mind having AT&T software, since I'm on h2o.
I know about Cyanogenmod and EmotionOS. I would rather have a Samsung TouchWiz ROM since they are more stable.
Do I HAVE to flash SM-910V ROMs?
Thanks!
Because it's a V... I would say only Verizon Based for best hardware compatibility. I have been testing JasmineRom at 6.0.1. They are pretty de-bloated roms.

simple answer = no
long answer = trying to run firmwares from different note 4s will brick your phone and although some note 4 roms have compatibility with versions of the note 4, you should only flash things the authors specifically say are compatible.

NO, But i am on the sm-n910v also and i have successfuly rooted my phone and used titanium backup to "freeze" all of the verizon apps so they no longer are functioning or showing up in my app lists or directories. Woot. Also have custom boot and shutdown animations, sounds, lock screen...sooo this phone doesnt have anything identifying it as verizon to the eye....now on to the linux deploy for this phone.
Can I pick your brain on rooting the 910v? I've been at it for days with no luck.
