Personally, I don't think that the Defy's camera is that bad.
There are several tweaks around the board, but none of them seem to have any effect on the photos' quality. Given appropriate lighting conditions and the usual photographing techniques, the pictures are alright.
You always have to know how to use a camera.
I particularly have problems with taking photos on bright days with lots of sky in the frame. I think the white-balancing over-compensates for this?
I tried meddling around with the scenes and settings but can't seem to find a solution!

My LG Optimus G arrived today. Phone is awesome except camera quality. It is disappointed me. My prev phone optimus black taking more better pics with 5mpx camera. Is there anyway or tricks for improve cam quality?

If the hardware is good, maybe LG could do something better in the future with their stock Rom. By the way, you can use another camera app, try procapture, the automatic mode of the stock app could be better. I use to change mostly the white balance

If yu are aware of some picture analyser application, yu can compare the same pic taken in Stock and CM......i had done this test using matlab by writing codes...

How come u said 5mp optimus black better than 13mp optimus G? Maybe uve got wrong phone or China clone.. Can u google from utube how good optimus G camera compared with Xperia Z n HTC one.. N Please dont tell ur bike run faster than motorcycle..

Its just crap.
HTC never ever good a good camera eiter, but if you compare with the G, they are pretty good.

maybe 2-3 dayslater ill give you some samples..i also have my previous optimus black..but since my sister use that phone i cant take a same scene with G n Black rite now..ill setting default for both phone before take a picture..actually, im just converting my F180L to E975 about 10 minutes ago..in that case im kinda bz to setting my phone(bring back my network)..hope u can wait okay senior??..
This is software related, just change the setting to manual ISO and it'll be much better.
Same goes if you use "LG Camera" from the play store.

By converting to e975 u wont gain nothin with camera..
i is just same hw just not in korean lng. ..,
Optimus G camera is great outside in daylight and very poor in dark
Best when is sunshine ..
There is one way which helped me. .. always select sunset mode before capturing. It enhances contrast levels and color reproduction.. hope it will work for you too

Sorry for late reply, this some pictures taken yesterday..everyone can compare between Black vs G..surprised me Black was awesome but G still better for me..
Now, redo these tests, only with OEM Camera and with this one:

You'll see, the issue is software related.
Just installed original LG camera on cm10, no difference at all with the stock cm10 app.

already installed n everybody can see the differences between stock LG camera vs market lgcamera..for me its just a little bit different which is market lgcamera more quality but in fact it came with double capacity MB storage..(stock camera 3-4mb vs lgcamera 7-8mb)..

this guy is right .. seems u should test it with real phone instead of youtube comparison !!!!!!!! this ppl is right even optimus black and galaxy s take better picture .. unfortunately ... and its not this guy problem . your phoen has it too as in your picture u can see . it take blur picture . they are not sharp . this is the problem . but with this"http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2065799&page=21" combined with lgcamera hope it take better .

I just recently bought Xperia T2 ultra and after buying and charging it I updated to Kitkat 4.4.2
just realized something about the camera after the update, it get more noise than usual
is it hardware related or it's software problem which can be solved at kitkat 4.4.4 update later ?

yeah,when zooming still have some noise...but i dont really care because i didnt use zoom option so frequently..
No matter which app you use, the results are same, can see plenty of misssing pixels when zoomed in, thats because the Exymor RS sensor in our phone has a poor quality.
The picture quality depends mainly on the quality of the sensor and not the amount of megapixels of the camera or the app used to take pics.
Ive seen better photos in micromax smartphone cameras, like Canvas HD and Canvas 4, they were crystal clear when zoomed in. Its sad that Sony, inspite being such a reptuted company, uses sub standard sensors and cheats its consumers.

The x-reality can be found in the cross device development,but don't use the one ported from Z1 because many users complain about it..and i have tried that once..

So if you want to take a picture of a moving object then you will probably fail
Anything we can do to make it faster? Any camera app that can do better than this?

We don't really know about the shutter speed.
but I tried to ask the sony internal that to improve the shutter speed better change the focus mode to other like "touch focus" or "object tracking"
an update may improve it but it's hard they said
just experiment with the setting
ISO at 800 give faster shutter but more noise though

Depends. V10 is an excellent phone but I guess the freedom that OP3 provides in terms of rooting and customization is better than V10. I upgraded from Note 4 for the same reason.

Yes it drops the resolution when shooting in 16:9. But that being said I think the still image quality is very good.

I wouldn't say better but they are very close and I can't pick a winner between them. I think the sub par video quality is due to software issues which can be fixed in future updates. But this is just speculation.
Not worth it. Wait until they fix all bugs (which are many).
