LG G3 D855 / flash failed / [FIX] Bootloop - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys!,
Sorry If this is a re-post but to be honest I didn't find the solution to my problem in this forum.
So, I have an LG G3 D855 Lollipop 5.0 rooted, with TWRP and flashed ARM sdk21 in order to be able to use Xposed framework and, guess what? right, BOOTLOOP!. Believe me, I read many threads about HOW to access recovery mode or something else and found no quick solution for this problem. ALL that I found was to hard reset to factory settings, to use LG pc suite, flash stock firmware guide, etc, etc. I didn't want to go all the way back to Zero (loosing root), I wanted a quick fix and I found it.
If you get a bootloop (can't get passed LG logo), follow this:
1. Turn off your phone (remove the battery)
2. Put back the battery & close the cover
3. Press and hold the Volume Down + Power buttons together and release them when you see the LG logo on your LG’s screen
4. You must press and hold the Volume Down + Power buttons ONCE AGAIN until you see the ‘Hard reset screen
5. Press the Power button twice in order to confirm hard reset. If you have a custom recovery installed, your phone WON'T hard reset and will boot into recovery mode.
6. From your recovery you can try another framework or just to reset to factory settings.
I got most of the steps from here: http://androidflagship.com/9966-enter-recovery-mode-lg-g3
In my case, I chose another framework (SDK21) and it booted fine without reset anything. The xposed didn't work but I don't mind, I just wanted my cell phone to be working fine with everything installed before trying framework.
If for some reason you can't still get passed from Logo screen, you can check these methods:

Also, the original method to use Xposed framework is as follows:

I hope this helped someone. Thanks team.

[Q] F180 (vol up + power) does't work

Main information. F180, bootloader unlocked with teenybin, I'm on resurection lp rom.
Everything worked fine but I accidentally flashed the wrong file, now the phone is in boot loop. Though that is not the problem (I know how to fix it).
The problem is that there is no way I can access recovery. This happened to me before but I got lucky - computer detected the phone while it was in bootloop and I was able to use (adb reboot recovery). Next time I got lucky some kind of green screen showed up and from there I was able to go to recovery. Now i know that the most obvious way to go to recovery is through bootloader (vol up + power) but no matter how many times and in what diffrerent ways I try it I can't boot into bootloader it simply starts booting the rom... I am frustrated and have zero ides. Maybe you have some. Thank you in advance.
P.s.: i held down the power button for over 1 minute before attempting. And also download mode works.
If you can still boot into download mode you can try to flash the original firmware with the LG flash tool:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190
Don't worry you can use it for the LG Optimus G too:fingers-crossed:
Thank you for the idea, but I managed to solve my problem the same way as before. Use adb while the phone is in bootloop.

[Q] How to clear cache partition

I have a stock G3 (D852/Fido/OTA to 5.01) and am having some Bluetooth issues with in car call audio (not music audio) and I'd like to clear my cache partition. This has helped with other problems with my other Android devices and I am hoping it might help with this one. I have found many procedures on the net but none have led me to the menu with that option.
Could someone who has done this please post the proper key sequence to get to the proper menu?
Thanks,
V

Well you can boot into recovery mode to clear it but theres a problem with that
The thing is LG for some stupid reason doesnt allow you to boot into recovery
If you try and boot into recovery using adb or a recovery booting tool you run the risk of it running the factory reset script instead which will wipe your device (but you are more than welcome to try)
Why i said this is because i was running rooted lollipop once and i tried to boot into recovery using flashify and it ended up factory resetting my device
Thanks for the reply.
I don't want to use any pc based tools just the key combinations. I have found quite a few but none that lead to the menu where I could clear the cache. Yes, I have looked into the reset all option and quickly cancelled the screen. I do not want to reset the phone.

Easy method
Power off device. Hold volume down and power button simultaneously. Hold until you boot past Lg logo. Worked for me.

Lg g pad v500 return to stock rom or root aosp

Hi guy, i have my LG gpad with aosp 5.1.1 (28/06/15 build) and i nave lost twrp and root...i try to flash twrp with adb but doesn't work ( problem with "waiting devices"). How can simply i return to stock ROM for restart rooting, flash twrp ecc ecc???
I have a mac but if is necessary i find a windows from someone of my friend
Which variant of G Pad 8.3? I assume not the VK810.4G, so is it the V500 or V510? Might want to change your thread title mentioning which variant and also something like "How to return to stock?".

To change the title of your thread, edit your first post, choose "Advanced" if it starts you off in Basic editing mode, then the thread title is in a field where you can edit it.
I don't know anything about the V500 although I would think TWRP would still be there somewhere, and have you checked in the Developer Options (tap build # 10 times in a row in Settings / About device / Software) to see if you can enable root there?

After flash the aosp rom i can't enter in twrp and i've lost root permission and in developer option there is nothing to solve this problem... the problem start because i've forgot to flash supersu zip for root access but seem strange have lost twrp too...
LG G Pad 8.3 Factory Reset Mode:
With Device Powered Off And Unplugged
Press and hold Power Button + Volume Down
When the LG logo shows up, release the power button only
Now press and hold the Power and Volume Up button while keeping your hold on the Volume Down button
When the factory reset screen appears, release your hold on all buttons
Follow On Screen Indications

Use this code to get to Factory Reset Mode. Attempt to do a factory reset. This will bring you to TWRP. Now flash SuperSU.

I have the problem of secure booting error....
That is no problem. It's normal when using a custom bootloader.

READ the OP.... says clearly, after flashing you need to reflash SuperSU to gain root again. To get back into recovery ... hold volume-down AND power, wait for LG logo to appear, release power without releasing volume-down, press volume-up and power without releasing volume-down... hold for a few seconds until screen dimms and release all. Wait for next screen, press power 2x and voila, you're back in business.
cheers

I had a similar issue but was able to get into recovery mode and restore a backup.
Can you get to recovery like this
Power Down the LG G4
When Off, Press and Hold the Volume Down and Power Buttons at the Same Time
Continue Holding These Two Buttons Until You See the LG Logo
When You See the LG Logo, Let Go of the Volume Down and Power Buttons for 1 Second
After 1 Second has Passed, Immediately Start Holding the Power and Volume Down Buttons Again
Continue Holding These Two Buttons Until You Boot Up into the LG G4 Recovery Mode

Hi I'm sorry if you've already said you can't get into recovery mode or anything but when i bricked my g4 i used the lg flash tool to flash h815 10c stock and then instead of flashing the latest twrp (the blue themed one) i flashed the one before it which is 2.8.6.1 and it worked perfectly so if you manage to get into recovery or fastboot then try and flash that version of twrp instead , good luck buddy...

How did you "brick" (it's not) it? Kill switch is an anti theft feature, usually triggered remotely by the user.

This button combo you posted is wrong any way...you only release power for 1 sec and continue holding vol down and the re press power
I cut and pasted those instructions from another site. They held me back from fixing my phone for hours until I discovered the method you have mentioned. I haven't seen any site that tells us to do it like you said, I just was trying different ways and then hey presto!! it worked.

Wipe ROM and reinstall Android in LG Smartphone

Hi, I'm trying to find a way to try to recover an LG D680 smartphone. I have a weird problem with it. It used to get stuck on LG's Logo boot. I used Download Mode and LG Mobile Tool to fix it and update it. Everything was ok but 1 month later this happened again, but this time it cannot get fixed.
I tried to reinstall software through KDZ and flash tools (2014) in Normal and CSE mode. I tried Iusacell (AT&T) images (V10A_, V10B_, V20A_ and V20B_) wich are Jelly and Kitkat versions of images. Last I tried to reinstall with V20A_ Factory Free image and still problem, but now there's another problem. It seem that there are not really hardware issues since device is correctly recognized in Windows System, can enter Download Mode, LG Flash Tool can still manipulate hardware (Install, reboot and finish install). The new problem is that even after reinstalling any of the images it keep looped and stuck at the "Android Hard Reset" icon, the one of the Android with the red triangle.
I tried using fastboot and adb but devide is not recognized by fastboot device even after installing drivers.
Is there another way to completely wipe ROM and install System and Boot clean? I already have system.img and boot.img files, but can't find a way to do this nor what I do works.

If it is looping on LG's boot animation, then you should boot into stock recovery and do a factory reset from there - saved me from sending my E988 to service last time I flashed stock. Try one of these recovery combos: Vol Up + Power, Vol Up + Vol Down + Power, Vol Up + Home + Power, one of those should work. My E988 uses Vol Up+ Power - have to press both while device is powered off, and keep them pressed until capacitive buttons flash twice. Not sure how will that work on D680 though (is that a G Pro Lite?)

Yep! It's an G Pro Lite. I'm still trying some of th combinations. What is stock recovery? Should it show more options than just hard reset?

If it's anypart similar to ones found on E98x, it will have only hard reset, update install and reboot options. I really don't know much about Lite series, probably there is more info about recovery in their subforum here.
