a week ago i got an LG D858 bricked, cannot flash using lg flash tool(s), because the model was null, i think the owner was trying to convert it to LG D851 or 850.
anyway the D858 has a different layout board than the D855 which is clearly described on this forum.
after many tries i decided to test where the qualcomm test point is.
the good news for me that i found it without too many tries.
and here is the picture.
one more thing I have to say, I tried many times with d855 on my running well PC I never succeeded but when i used a clean running windows on my laptop it was like charm, I remember I saw someone said something about that and I did not take it seriously. but if you fail and fail and fail, try it.
finally I used this tot for the willcracker boardDiag v2.99a ( LGD858AT-00-V10a-CMT-CN-JUL-12-2014-32G+0.tot)
originally was 16G and i renamed it to 32G to fit my D858 32GB bricked device.
good luck

Thanks for your message. But the main board of D858HK is different from that of D855. The metal cover over the emmc chip cannot be opened. Hence not know what test point for shorting.
Edit: after comparison between image of D8585HK and D858 in first post, can anyone please advise how to remove the metal cover over the emmc chip of D858HK?

You can use fingernails to take off metal cover of emmc chip, I have same model d858HK, metal cover is not solid with emmc chip, just use little force to push it up of chip. Be aware that sim 2 card slot is connected with metal cover also so you need do lift it together.....but before that disconnect sim card 2 flat cable from motherboard also with your fingers.
You can use small tools if you have it.
cheers
Thanks much your message. Yesterday I delivered it to LG service centre. Anyway I learn it very much.
This worked for me, trick is to short testpoint then connect usb to PC, then I flashed stock F400K (yes Korean) tot using BoardDiagv2.99 once device is in Qualcomm 9008 mode. Now I booted into download mode and Flash stock MM with LGUP tool.

F460 owners soution for unbrick
F460 OWNERS . WE HAVE EASY HARD BRICK METHOD.
com port 9006 can be fixed. google partition unbrick. ubuntu method also works.
f460 : 9008 com port,, no twrp, no download mode, boot security error, verification failed. traditional lg flashtool, board diag, lg smart boot doesn;t help at all., i tried all and fed up. finally understood only 2 options on our own solutions available.
1. dump file using sd card
2. BOx method like riff, jtag, .octoplus (Risky as it shorts resistors may phone dead)
3. debrick image create ,
we our selves has to wake up and try to build by 1 and 3. 2nd option is expensive, soldering to emmc is not advisable.
for option 1, vietanmese selling dump filess, if anyone bought dumpfiles for f460, kindly upload and share with us.
option 2 by professionals repair method, option 3 debrick not yet availble for us, seniors has to look into this to create it. debrick is easy and simple and best of all.
ANY ONE HAVE DUMP FILE OR DEBRICK IMAGE FOR F460? thanks me if usefuL

Is the phone able to power on.
Is the phone looping in startup screen.

Thanks. I already tried this, it did not work.
@Deanff3, being in Qualcomm mode at least means you still have a chance. When I bricked my D851 I couldn't even get that via software means. Phone identified itself as Google instead of LG. Had to "short circuit" the phone so I could get Qualcomm mode to continue on.
Have you checked the following thread? Used this guide and I was back in service after weeks of almost giving up.

BTW, searching around I see the "device" you posted. It shows up all over in old posts. Some will be almost exact except swap D851 for D855. All V10z-GLOBAL. Yet no actual info about it. Just users that got bricked. In this post it was due to trying to downgrade.

Even from a firmware repository I don't think these V10z-GLOBAL things are available. Could be wrong but I can't find.

In my opinion no its not worth the hassle but ot only takes 5 mine to check ot 2. Unless its got the bootloop issue or hard bricked its fixable. But how determined are you.

my phone boots up completely but no baseband no imei or anything and that infamous 9008 brick is fixable with ls991 laf.img and 8992.mbn and etc... files and here is my next approaches please if you have enough aknowledge guide me with these options i have or add any if something came on your mind:
1.Flashing a ls991 model kdz and see what comes out(probably not doable, lgup may not let me flash it)
2.while surfing through the forums and threads i found the exact H811 10N Laf.img and i will replace it with ls991's and will use QFIL to correct the partitions and then my phone would be fixed(im too scared for this one...maybe my phone is a refurbished F500...who knows? :fingers-crossed: )
3.Maybe finding and flashing F500 laf.img fix the phone but a HUGE problem i am facing:where to find that file?
Note:All i am trying to do is to fix this phone by software approaches and disassembling the phone is out of my options for now(only will do if none of above fix it properly)
So with all of that what would you do if you be in my shoes?:cyclops:
Always hated LG and admired Sony but i started to hate xperia x series because of weak development so i bought this one for around 100$ in your currency.

but im wondering which one should i try first because im concerned if i flash wrong files then there will be even no 9008 mode to use QFIL and get back to very first step...

Actually LG devices are very easy to disassemble so people like them wont put so much effort to refurbish LG phones and earn themselves some easy money.
And believe me Iran is the heaven of refurbished and chinese phones
Mostly because many cant afford to buy their phones and other stuff from trusted sellers and they buy them with no warranty(or guarranty)from third party sellers.
Actually they have a place for themselves in downtown(Aladdin building).
But i wanted a flagship LG device to learn more about it and i got it for a couple of bucks so it really didnt matter if my G4 didnt work as expected.
But its always a pleasure to make some mystery and try to crack the case by yourself

So i bought a second hand unlocked D851 ( TMOBILE) with kitkat (cloudy rom) wanted to upgrade it to lolipop but i hard bricked it then used board diag program to bring it back to life but i extracted a d850 rom TOT since the d851 didnt work so now my lg g3 is at&t and permenantly locked ,been trying for a week now to unlocked it for nothing then I read somewhere in this forum that its easy to unlock the d851 using the tmobile app. so is there any way to change it back to D851.
Anyone has any idea?!!

1)What do you mean permanently locked...carrier/sim, mcafee security, something else? If it's carrier you can order a sim unlock code off of ebay for @$4.00 us, or use any other sim unlock services out there.
2)If you changed a d851 to a d850 using board diag and manually loading the partitions - then why not extract a d851 tot and do the same thing?

1) I don't know of a free way to get an unlock code, so if you can't order one you're probably stuck. Pay a friend who can order one for you?
2) If we're on the same page here and you previously used the board diag tool then that should work again. Hard brick usually shows up in your device manager as qualcomm 9008 instead of an lg device, so to get back to that condition you would have to open the phone up and short a pin -
follow the guide in the link I posted before and you should be good to go. I don't have links for any d851 tot files though...sorry, not my variant.

Unfortunately...I think so. If you were to try and use the lg flash tool and try and tot a d851 file into a d850 it'll probably throw some errors - model check, for ex - and won't flash. You can try and see for yourself if you'd like...here's a link for a couple tools; the 1st is kdz method, second is tot: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
To brick it again follow guide I linked( https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-fix-hard-brick-recovery-guide-t3132359), short that 2nd jtag pin in the pic for @5 seconds, plug in the usb, and it should go to qualcomm 9008. You already know how to do the rest as far as loading partitions and such, and if you don't the guide will tell you what to do.
Good luck :good:

Yeah....and?
Re-read your previous post where you asked if you'll have to brick it again.
I said yes, and gave you a link on how to do it. Did you read the link? My guess would be no, since the 1st 4 steps tell you how to brick it and enter qualcomm9008 mode.
You're on your own now. Good luck. And you're welcome for the time I spent trying to help you.

It's cool. Yes the guide is for already bricked phones, but what I was trying to say is since you have a functional phone rt now you're gonna have to brick it, and by brick it I mean qualcomm9008 mode, and that's what the 1st part of the guide shows you how to do by shorting out the pin. Once you get to Qualcomm mode you can then use the board diag tool and load your partitions that you extracted from the tot and hopefully get back to your original d851 phone and get back up and running. Does that make more sense?
Again...good luck

I hard bricked it again and then extracted another D851 tot and then loaded all the necessary partitions but the phone still on qload mode i copied the sbl1.mbm of the D850 and tried them with D851 partitions the phone revived but not in download mode.
I managed tp recover all partitions and the phone is on dowloading mode but still detected as d850 so i have the dll cross error everytime i try to flash a rom even with using the custon dll file.
Hello everyone
so when i got my g4 h811 it was running 21y software but it was laggy a bit and i did mistake by flashing 20v kdz via lgup now its bricked no signs of life whatsoever no recovery no download mode no charging. ONLY SHOWS HS-QDLOADER 9008 DETECTED IN MY PC DEVICE MANAGER.
I was a samsung user from years and i have good knowledge about samsung devices but i am new for lg so i did tried h811 dump file write via win32 disk image to micro sdcard 64gb class 10 after formatting exfat fat32 etc but still no signs of life.
I even charged my battery to 1 of my friends g4 and battery is perfect 100% i really need help how to fix this thing all i need is download mode the rest i can fix by flashing latest kdz by lgup.
I even tried qpst qfil method to write files direct to emmc but it shows always error such as sahara fail device is not in firehose mode etc.
Desperately need help please tia.
anyone alive here to help ?
first and last time i buy lg product really screw you lg i mean this is ridiculous i just flashed stock kdz firmware via lgup and its hard bricked AND FUNNY THING BOTH KDZ FIRMWARE AND LGUP TOOL FROM OFFICIAL LG I MEAN HOW STUPID IS THAT.
IF THEY REALLY DONT WANT ANYONE TO DOWNGRADE LG CAN JUST BLOCK THE FLASHING PROCESS LIKE IN ODIN TOOL IN SAMSUNG "SECURE BOOT" .
i am really really frustrated from last 3 weeks i tried almost every single method to unbrick this thing but no signs of life.

Ok it's a shame. I do not even use this phone for two days. I'll see if the warranty can handle it. This is the second time that a LG brand phone deceives me as well. In any case never again this brand's phone.
