Hey guys!
I'm new here, but i've read alot on xda since the past few years. I have a Problem with my Elephone P8000 that's driving me nuts.
I wanted to install the Nexus ROM on it, but it already fails at the intallation of the drivers. I'm working with Computers everyday, but I really can't get a solution on this.
My computer (Win7 Pro 64bit) doesn't recognize the phone. I just hear a "connected" sound and then a "disconnected" Sound. The only drivers my PC installs are the Android MTP Drivers, but as I understood, I need the MT67xx Drivers which I can get from the SP_Drivers_V2.0 but it won't work. Including these problems, my computer is now in Build 7601, which I can fix, but maybe that helps.
I'd really like to use this ROM, because of the few bugs in the stock ROM of the P8000.
I hope you can help me.
Best,
TheOnlyCoon

I bought a new laptop and it's 64 bit running Windows 7. I'm trying to install the 64 bit USB driver & get it to recognize my phone but it simply won't work.
The following two things keep running and running with the words "installing driver software" after them:
CDC Abstract Control Model (ACM)
S3C6410 Android ADB
I have no idea how to get this to work so any advice is greatly appreciated!
ps - USB debugging is checked in my application settings.
There are lots of people having problems with 64 bit windows nit recognizing the epic. My suggestion is to try.another USB cable. I use my wife's evo cable and it works fine for me. Good luck man just keep trying. Try different ports, cables and also check.to.make sure the USB slot is clear from any obstructions.

When you ran the setup for the driver, did you run it as administrator?
Right click on setup.exe and select that option from the menu.
Sorry you're having such a bad time, that has got to be mega-frustrating.
I've read also, that some people run the 32 bit drivers on win 7 64bit and they report that they work for them just fine.
hey man i feel your pain. I have been having the same exact problems as you. I also have tried the 64 bit/32bit drivers, uninstalling/reinstalling them, everything i can think of or have been told to do to no avail. It use to work fine until i got the first froyo update eb13 and ever since its been like this. My laptop keeps telling me to replace my device.
I did get on a computer at work with win XP and i plugged my phone into it and the device installed but im not sure about the drivers. Im limited to what i can do at work. So maybe it has something to do with windows 7 cause my laptop is brand new as most people having this problem are to.
Did the drivers change after the EC05 update. Neither of my computers will recognize my phone now after I updated the modem. I even tried reinstalling the links you have in this post and updating drivers and still a no go.
I just had this problem recently. It wasn't the drivers - instead, it was the USB port I was using. If you're on a desktop, try a usb port on the back of the pc. If you're on a laptop, give all the usb ports a go.

Nope; I have a win7 ultimate 32 laptop and a win 7 ultimate 64 desktop. Both see my phone just fine. Same drivers from when I first rooted after xmas to DK28 from 2.1.
I have heard of people having an issue with something bent on the phone's usb connector, it stops from getting full connection.
I'm having the same issue, but I can connect when I uncheck USB debugging. With it checked, it won't connect. I'm trying to root with 2.5.5...

Glad i'm not the only one with this problem. Anyone who has the Windows8 having the same trouble?
On the forum 4pda.ru this question is being discussed. To no avail
All I want to do is flash back to stock, I feel like I am gonna lose my my mind or go buy a new phone. I have mostly spent a solid 10 hours of time trying to get it to work.
I have been endlessly looking, searching, trying all these different methods to get my ls980 to connect to my pc. So basically everytime I have hooked it up it comes up as unreconized or unknown device doesn't connect.
List of things: Latest LG mobile drivers I have installed them through there exe and tried to install them manually when the ! comes up on the device. I have tried my laptop and my desktop every usb in all of them. I have tried the stock cable, and about 8 other different cables. I have tried it in debugging mode with mtp and without debugging. I tried the support tool as well. Tried composite usb setting.
I guess I am at a loss at this point to what even to try besides sending it to be repaired. Which I don't feel like it's a phone problem and I am just missing something I can't find, I say this because the phone charges perfectly fine and no damage to the usb port at all. If anyone has good information or just a direction I can go will be greatly appericated.

It works just fine, only notable thing that I never figured out was why OTA updates don't ever take, it's still on ZVC. I tried the T-mobile d802 drivers as it was suggested by another post I saw on here.

Correct, I uninstalled them, tried new ones a couple different ways from other posts, and removed them and tried again. Right now I just have them all uninstalled. Trying to figure out if it's something that's stopping it. In error I did forget that a couple times it reconized it but would :fail to start code 10.

OK, that shouldn't be the problem. Zvc yet updates do not take.

Long story short, it's on ZVC, even with other updates that came up it would never update past it. I took it into sprint several times they didn't know why, I did root it as one guy said that was an option, I used stump root, but then I unrooted as I felt I was getting into something too complicated. It is on the sprint network, about 90% of the time and all the times I tried to update previous to the root/unroot. But I am not trying to update it since the root, mostly trying to restore to stock and start overish.
I'm thinking maybe a virtual machine with Linux might find it. If it can then there is something. And maybe we can redo the partitions and such.

As for driver removal, one thing I remember with the nexus devices. There is wugfresh nrt, nexus root toolkit. Let me see which application or program they loaded for removal before reinstall of drivers. I know they have 2 places you check into.
Dang, I'll have to try to load them via a windows emulator. I'm running Linux right now.

Let me know.. I am kinda at the point where I might try to find someone to flash it back to stock, and just activated my old phone til it gets back.. like I am past the point of frustration and no legit just don't get why, since all my other devices have zero issues connecting.
I'm trying to restore my HTC to stock and flash the stock recovery, but my device isn't found via fastboot anymore. It worked fine for a long time until suddenly stopping (might be a Windows 10 thing). I checked my PC's device manager, and it is showing an error next to the HTC 10 under ADB Interface. I tried to use "search the internet for drivers" which comes back with nothing. I also tried installing HTC's Sync Manager, but it won't install the USB/fastboot drivers for the 10. Fastboot works fine for my S7 Edge, and Nexus 6P, so it must be an issue with the lack of drivers (showing none in the device manager) for my HTC 10. If someone has them, or a link to them that would be great!
Update: someone PM'D me to drivers which fixed the issue. Credit is given in post #4 thank you to everyone that helped. I will uplaod the drivers if anyone wants them

I've always had drivers issues with non Nexus phones for some reason. HTC, Moto, Samsung, LG etc all gave me issues at some point. Drivers are key to have around jsut in case. Im running the W10 insider builds which are a nightmare to opt out of (I can't even with a clean install and new account, Microsoft might replace my Surface becusse they can't figured out the issue either). Anyway I'm glad everything worked out for you via the drives.

Hey guys,
I've downloaded RUU .exe from htc official website (tried also from someone's linke from here). As from my previous expierience with HTC Wildfire (the oldest one) i've just runed it as administrator and hoped everythink will work fine. Well nope. It loads, asks me to confirm the license agreement and then nothing happens. Any suggestions? Tried it on Windows XP VDI -same issue.
Right now I am running Windows 10 64-bit machine, and have fastboot and adb installed. HTC Sync Manager also installed (tried it both ways -with HTC Sync running in the background and without it but same result).
And tried it both ways with my M8 and without it plugged. In device manager i can see it as HTCDevice (sth like that).
Any thoughts?
Thanks guys, I am new here but really appreciate XDA community from the past. Thank you for all roms and helps you are the best!

You're quite welcome. I only knew from reading this issue previously (and its cropped up a few times in the past), and knew what the search for. Otherwise, it probably would have been pretty obscure to find.
