Cannot set SElinux to permissive mode - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bet this is due to "locked" boot loader. I have this to set on from my S4 but not on my g4? Please tell me.
I was looking for an app or a tweak to make the volume buttons skip tracks on long press while the screen is ON.

Well for beginners, are you rooted? You'll first need to be rooted in order to change it. Locked bootloader is fine

Well yes I am.. Oh and sorry for the late reply.

Check this one out, works for me
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g2...w-to-set-selinux-to-permissive-t3329439/page4

In a Terminal Emulator type this:
Code:
[I]>su[/I]
[I]>setenforce 0[/I]
[I]>getenforce[/I]
In the last command should show "Permissive" . And that it's all.

Lol everyones gettin ready

Unrooting :'( which way?

Seeing as how my phone probably has hardware issue making income volume not hear-able at ALL as if it was on mute, I will order a replacement.
Which would be the best way to un-root?
Nandroid backup

or
Champion build by eugene?

Im on CM7 btw.
I find it much easier to just do the nand-restore way..
Has anyone tried it that way?
and i need to have radio 7.08, right? i have it already installed.

just put the eng zip from the champions build into your sd card, wait for it to tell you if you which to update via recovery, choose yes by pressing volume up I believe, then wait... reboot when it tells you if you which to reboot, then thats all I did that around like.. 6 days for my replacement no need to push the files or anything.

lol eng as in "SlideEng-package.zip" or esprimg?
Cuz there is this that sounds just like what you're saying..
Ive Decided to Post the Factory Rom due to Request & I've already saw one or two Problems from the Phone so far, and thought it would be a good idea to give everyone the Option to go back to Stock!!
Just Rename > ESPRIMG(2).zip
to ESPRIMG.zip & place on the Root of your Sdcard..
1.
Power Off the Phone either by Power Down / Battery Pull..
2.
Hold Volume Down + Power Button..
3.
Walk away, get a soda / Give the Better half a Kiss or two
4.
Hit the Volume Up key to Confirm to Flash.
Once Done you will have a Stock Espresso Phone again..

Need help, cant get into bootloader in kingsrom

Okay, so im running kingsrom unleashed 4g, and its great i love it. Tired to flash another rom today, elite III. Preformed backup, flashed format_all zip first then was gonna flash elite III next like it states. But now after flashing format_all zip it restarted the phone and now its back to kingrom and its in safe mood. For some odd reason its not letting me load into bootloader so i can flash the next step. And whats really ticking me off is that rommanager is not working. Ive installed and uninstalled countless times and it wont let me open. Does it have to due with being in safe mood. Please help me , need someone to fill me in. Thanks for you time.
I'm confused in regard to your post. Anyway, to get to the bootloader, power off your device. Now simultaneously press the DOWN volume button and the power button until your device starts. After a short pause, a few lines of text will scroll across the screen and then you'll be shown a set of options. Viola, you're at the bootloader screen.

Nothing at all. Then after mmm 45 seconds of holding it down i let go, it boots up, quickly too. Im not sure if its because of Kingsrom or what ( on the fast boot that is).
What about fastboot? (Vol up/Power)?
I'm no expert here, but I think you may want to try running the RUU form your PC if that doesn't work, go back to stock and start over. I'm sure someone will come up wit ha better option, but if it was me, that's what I would do.

Fixed it. Wipe misc as well. DD zeros out the device, and then it runs out of space. That's a normal response.
My phone is now fixed.
Now disable OTA updates..

Someone said you needed to freeze/remove the LGOTA.apk and clear the zipped update from /cache
Hey all,
I had this issue this morning but this post's exact instructions worked for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55355406&postcount=27
Basically I had to run both those commands. The single one as noted in the previous post wasn't enough.
"Open Terminal Command in TWRP. On first page just hit The Advanced Button, Terminal Command, Select Current Folder, Then type the following.
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
then hit enter
type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc

Unlocked Bootloader Message

Is there a way to avoid the message you get when you reboot after unlocking the Bootloader? The black screen where you can wait 5 seconds or tap the power to go on...
I understand that is correct to show it...but it's boring and I'm already aware of it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nextbit-robin/general/guide-install-twrp-root-robin-t3334171/page7
maybe try and follow the instruction on post number 69
Thanks for the reply but that's for Moto X. Actually before Robin I was using a Moto X and I know that procedure, point is that on Moto X was just a screenshot before booting and nothing else, here looks a bit different and you can also skip it pressing the power button. Plus I would avoid to flash/use the logo.bin of Moto X...
Can anyone of Nextbit team provide any info? Thanks !
I also donĀ“t like the screen... the opportunity to hide would be great.

Hi, firmware/bootloader guy here - work for a Android vendor so I decided to have a quick look at the bootloader for you guys..
It's stored in the bootloader (aboot) if you are interested so you can't make a xposed module, it runs before Android (before init or zygote) does (or the Linux kernel). I haven't checked if Secure boot is on (if not, I suppose I could build a replacement aboot and just patched out the logic for that screen ) but I hope it's on for security reasons.

Replace "recovery.img" at the end with the actual twrp filename and it should work.
I'd love to get rid of that error message on my new Robin, but I'm confused about whether or not the previous two posts were a solution to the problem. I had flashed TWRP after unlocking the bootloader, and the recovery was in the same folder as the ADB and Fastboot files, but I'm not sure what that has to do with removing the error message.
Thanks in advance!

The last several message in this thread regarding 'recovery.img' was for someone trying to flash TWRP in fastboot, it has nothing to do with the 5-second nag screen.
Since khang never responded, I'm assuming this won't change and the nag screen will remain. I'm so used to keeping my finger on the power button when i reboot that it's almost habit now, so really doesn't bother me too much.
How can a device that is marketed for its unlockable bootloader and warranty coverage have an jnlockable bootloader experience that is worse than basically all devices. You don't see unlocked Sony or LG phones having boot screens that require user input. The only device I know of that is worse is the Pixel c, which has a 30 second "integrity check" if the bootloader is unlocked.

..It's only 5 seconds, the only reason it seems longer is the fact that the message merges in with the boot logo

Very old thread here, but could you guys maybe release an optional "developer/enthusiast" bootloader update that gets rid of that nag screen? Or at least give the option to confirm the warning in future updates, like "I have read and understood this warning. Don't show again."
I am posting hoping some progress may or may not have been made on this. Its atrocious.

No Downloads Folder in TWRP (or it's corrupt?)

Trying to flash something in TWRP, but when I go to data/media... or data/media/0... there is no downloads folder. There are folders, but they have long folder names with a bunch of alphanumeric characters (10TcsdfkjSjhkJhkjhM7dsGD, etc). Can someone advise me on what to do?

flashed it all about half a year ago, re-learning cause I have to update the security patch...but geeze man, just a little rusty on the terminology...
Touchy touchy! I had the same question when I read what you said there. How would you be able to say "It Works!" if you didn't go through fastboot at some point to either access or install TWRP, etc. etc. etc. All good, just google it and maybe it'll refresh your memory. It's just like ADB, only... it's FASTBOOT, lol. It's basically what you see when you reboot and hold volume down and see the big android on his back with his belly open. And you can do a number of commands from that point, like installing boot images and recoveries, etc. etc.
