i want the Blackberry apps to run on my Mobile - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am running the stock rom on my galaxy note II N7100. I wanted to try the blackberry apps on my note II. which Mod should I go for. Did anyone else tried the same? will I require root? Should I go for a pre rooted Mod? I guess the Mod has to be on Lollipop for the Blackberry apps to work, Please suggest.

Yes michea1angel0, for running blackberry apps minimum requirement is lollipop and for installing lollipop your device should be rooted. Once your device is rooted, try installing lollipop using
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-2/orig-development/cyanogenmod-12-alpha-1-n7100-t2949644
Once lollipop installed, try installing blackberry apps from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/port-apks-blackberry-priv-venice-t3244542

Thanks sandro2511, i will definately try that. Did u have any personal experience with the mod. Is it stable and pre-rooted?

You already have the original rom rooted.
The best rooted rom would be the stock factory rom, best because it's stable and everything works.
There are custom roms but they have limitations compared to stock rooted. The first thing you loose is the WiFi calling and S-Pen features at the expense of some customization.
Some of these tweaks can be added by using xposed which has been moded for lollipop already while still keeping the added features that the Note 3 is known for like WiFi calling , Stylus pen etc.
I personally run stock/rooted with all the junkware that Samsung/T-Mobile added removed.
Phone works great with great battery life and with the added stability of the stock operating system.

The link for stock /rooted rom does not exist. For that reason no one will post a link.
Op didn't say what version or firmware was currently on phone, it's possible that root didn't allow ota for lollipop to install and KK is what they are running.
In this case you unroot and hookup to kies and get the lollipop update, root, custom recovery and debloat.
Whala, rooted stock lollipop rom.

Can You Suggest a Good CM Lollipop Rom?

I got the Samsung S3 Tmobile T999. I want tot install the latest Cyanogenmod rom. Mind you, I'm a noobi, never installed CM before. But I'd like a good recommendation for a good, STABLE rom thats CM with the latest Lollipop. But without any issues like camera, video, wifi, calling, etc. . Can you please recommend one?

Honestly to tell you every Rom is almost based of CM . So your best bet would be to install CM 12 cause you get constant updates.

No, once you download the update go to recovery and look in cmupdater folder in the root directory, the update should be there. once u install it, you are good to go, everything will be there after u update, so no reinstalling. just clear ur cache before u restart after update.
Ok cool.. Will do that. Appreciate it.

Try Eclipse V5 if you want a TW rom. I am using it. I just flash it two weeks ago. I also on stock 4.4.2 before this. First time flashing. Never knowing soo much about rom and other stuff. Make sure you read a lot before flashing. Most of the instruction can get online. Although V6 is out, but i still stick with V5. Most V5 info can get from "[ROM][GT-N7100][TW 4.4.4] Eclipse By AC" under "Galaxy Note II Original Android Development". Happy flashing.

i have been using android version 5.1.1 based on CM 12.1 by ivan meler and i have been using this phone with this rom for the past two months , it's development has been completed that means it is the most finished version with literally 0 bug or lags and i must say i didn't expected this kind of performance at all ... this made me revert back to my note from my iphone 6 (you can imagine the smoothness of this rom) i would not recommend you marshmallow based roms becasue about 20 days i tried one and it had issue so if you use this device as a daily driver i would say go for 5.1.1 roms instead and CM 13&MM is still in development phase that means developers are still making it worthy .
you can hit the thanks button if i helped if anyhow .. if you need any noob friendly guide on how to root and install custom roms you can always ask me .. and there are quite of few tutorials on xda a well as Youtube

Yes it's based on CM but I tested some Marshmallow Roms and this ROM is really good.
Try Ivan Meler's Cyanogenmod 13 Rom ( Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow).
It´s pretty stable and i had no problems until build 6.
Wirth build 7 there is a problem with bluetooth for some people.

All the custom ROMs (not Samsung official) must be installed with a custom recovery like TWRP or ClockworkMod. The custom recovery can be installed with Odin.
I have been like a month with CM13 and I had no problems, but if you want a stable ROM, install an older one like CM12.1 aka Lollipop.

From 12 to 13 When will be stable. Need again flash and wipe or OTA update?
Try Dr. Ketan's kit Kat, N3, N4 and S5 features. Truly superb. Great battery life, Viper FX for sound. Stable. Tried many but always come back to this one.

First Time Flash

My Note 2 is still my only phone since it was purchased many years ago and have stayed with android 4.3. Unfortunately, hardly any apps are compatible anymore so flashing is the only way to continue using my phone. I want to avoid bricking my phone so I would appreciate answers to some questions.
I have model sgh-i317. It appears from what I've read that N7105 roms are compatible, but N7100 roms are not? Also, there are roms which state tolteatt. Which roms are compatible with my device?
It seems a lot of roms are also now EOL. I need suggestions for a nougat rom that is stable and preferably based on touchwiz as I guess it is the only way the s pen continues to work? Or compatible with add-on apps, GMD etc? If possible, I would really like to continue using my
s pen.
Are there any other integral issues that do not work/disappear when you flash/upgrade from 4.3 to nougat? I know there is variability depending on the rom, but I just need to know if any other major thing is going to change. I have been unable to find this information.
Is there a way to continue to use Samsung calendar as I'm assuming gapps is going to replace it with Google calendar?
I just want to be able to continue using my note 2 for as long as possible. Obviously no one can know for sure, but those who have been doing this for a while would be more likely to know which roms/developers are more likely to continue to be supported.
I know people are apprehensive about suggesting roms, because it's based on personal preference, but I would really appreciate suggestions just so I can continue to use my phone, and if possible keep the features as close as possible to 4.3 though I realize many features will be changed/different. If that's not possible, I understand.
Just recommendations for the top 3 most stable/popular roms that have the least amount of battery drainage compatible with my device would be really helpful.
Can someone please just confirm the correct roms for my sgh-i317 device. N7100, N7105, and/or tolteatt?
Rom help!
Can someone please help me to be able to continue to use my Note 2? It is extremely difficult to find information as everything is being abandoned and I can't even view certain things on xda even with desktop mode. Just need a link to 1 rom for sgh-i317, tolte/N7105, that a person has used and knows is stable based on touchwiz/probably marshmallow so s-pen works. I would really appreciate it.
Tolte roms are what you want. TouchWiz roms only go up to kit Kat 4.4.4. If you need a newer version of Android, you will have to give up TouchWiz. You will lose some spen functions and mhl tv-out.
Need a link
Do you know where I can find a marshmallow rom that is stable and has any spen functionality?

I too am searching for a rom for my device as well and everything is pretty abandoned... I found a few when I used google search but their download link dont work.
I also have the I317 and didnt care to upgrade the OS to a custom ROM cos everything worked fine on it b4 but now some apps are not just compatible any more so a ROM upgrade will be better to give it more life time.
I'll let you know (with links) once I find one that works.
Take care.
Cheers.
Thanks!
I would really appreciate that!

I found the Resurrection Remix OS 5.8.5 based on Lineage OS 14.1/Android 7.1.1. it's pretty smooth and I've found no bugs for now.
It's for Galaxy Note 2 N7105 but works fine on my At&t Note 2. Below is the link to it's XDA page then you can download from there.
