Will touch screen digitizer can harmed by double tap wakeup? I had a htc m7 earlier and i put double tap wakeup using sence tool box or something like that. But after few months about 1cm line started not responding. So i'm afraid to put it on my m8. So please give me some suggestions.

I hv been using this feature for quite long now on my m8. It doesnt harm in any way. And you dont need to install double tap to wake, its enabled by default on stock rom and most custom roms on M8.
I have never had any hardware or software related issues with double tap to wake on the following devices -
1. M8
2. Oneplus One
3. Zennfone 2
4. Vibe X2
So dont worry go ahead and use it.
Thanks for quick reply. Yeah i know that m8's official firmware include that feature. Anyway i'll use it. Will it make battery drain?

Yup it will, the reason is touch screen will be always active even if display is off, so as to detect double tap. But practically battery drain will be unnoticeable.

Hello,
My desire has some touch related problems, the screen acts like I toching on the top right of the screen (notification bar area) and then he gets crazy, make me to lose my mind many times....
A new touch screen + intallation cost in my country like 100$, and I dont think its worth for such an old device...
There is any way to disable multi touch or and other method that can help me fix this?
Thanks alot,
Daniel.

Frankly, it s quite a known issue t the Desire has a faulty touchscreen and you should know that by having used the search button with lots of occurences.
First thing first: The HTC Desire has a dual- touch screen type and not multitouch. The means it has been designed mainly to support pinch to zoom actions. Therefore only two fingers can be recognized "fine",on the screen.
Why "fine"? Because it actually takes the real position of the first finger and calculate the virtual position of the second finger. This touchscreen configuration has created an issue that is well known as Axis swapping and stickiness. Search this on the Desire and you should get more information that, I hope, will help you very well

Thanks about the fast awnser =]
I searched about touch related issues, but this is not the problem Iam talking about...
I cant use the phone in avarage use, I getting crazy from using it every day,
Its hardware related issue...
Up, help please
Assuming you can disable multitouch. Your screen acts like it's always touching the top right side of the screen, then you wont even be able to swipe your finger as that top right screen bug will always make use of the touch functionality.
You determined it's a hardware issue then go replace the screen.

I just saw this yesterday on xda news. Requires kitkat tho.
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/forget-about-notification-leds-with-acdisplay-app/
It might be what you're looking for. However, I have never tried it and I don't know if it will work for huawei p6. I'm not sure if it works with double tapping screen... but I assume that it should since it is imitating the moto x lockscreen.
EDIT: On google play now. No need for root I think.

EDIT: Just tried it. Doesn't work. :S

The Active notification feature requires AMOLED screen for best performance, while Huawei devices don't use AMOLED screen. And its not the same as LG's tap to wake feature, which is compatible with our device.

Hi guys, when i bought my oppo find 7a 1 month ago, i was searching for some tips and tricks on youtube and found out that you basically never have to touch the power button to lock or unlock the phone. Just double tap anywhere on the screen to unlock and double tap the home button to lock. This simple tip makes it so easy and quick to lock/unlock faster (really helpfull since it's a big phone).
Maybe you will find it weird, but it makes me love the phone so much more just because of that. I don't know if other phones does that? I am so used to this tip now that i always double tap as a reflex when i use my friend's phone from other brands and then realise that it doesn't work.
If you didn't know this trick, maybe it will feel weird for a some times to develop this reflex of double taping, but try it and you'll love it after some time.
I guess that nobody reads instructions manuals anymore...

Welcome to the forum. Did you also know that drawing a circle on the screen while the screen is off will launch the camera, drawing the letter 'v' will toggle the flashlight on/off
By going in to settings then about phone and tapping on android version 5 times in a row will bring up a cool secret easter egg from Google
I just got my brand new HTC 10 today. Double Tap to Wake works fine, but why does DT to Sleep ONLY work on the lockscreen and not from the Home screen?
Can someone help? I already did a Gravity Test/Calibration Check btw.
Thanks!
It would not work because probably the first tap would open the app from the shortcut on your home screen if you would have any. This is why this is not working on home screen or any other screen. Just in lock screen mode.

Kruk,
Ok. Is there ANY way around this though? My Sony Xperia phone has the same feature but NO issue with double-tap to sleep despite also having a lock screen.

On the stock ROM, no. Some custom ROM's have a feature that allows you to double-tap the status bar to turn the screen off, though.

yes, you would need to.
Nova Launcher has even a feature to double tap anywhereto turn the screen off....BUT it needs root to for that.

I'm pretty sure Nova launcher doesn't need root for double tap to lock. It works on my unrooted HTC 10. I'm not sure if it requires Pro though

I have Pro Nova, but still couldn't get it to work. Well, I mean I did, but the problem is, while it's "working", all the security stuff on my phone gets disabled as a result. I DO NOT have this issue with LG, Samsung, and Sony phones, only HTC. This is unacceptable. HTC should know better.
Nova Launcher does it fine, however, when unlocking, if you use fingerprint security, it forces you to use the password. This is probably an Android security issue, and not an HTC issue, since it behaves this way on all devices. I'll let someone with more knowledge on the subject explain why it is so.

Yeah but on LG, Sony, and Samsung phones, their systems DO NOT force you to put the password/PIN in again. That's why I wish HTC would take note of what those 3 are doing and implement those processes on their own phones.

Hi jimm2,
I'm actually VERY familiar with that app and had been using it for years until recently. I also have family that still use it.
I DID actually try that one out too, and it DID work...........however, the sacrifice I have to make in order for it to work is that I can no longer have the security settings of my phone enabled.......it completely bypasses them. And I am not willing to give that up, so unfortunately I can't use it.
Thank you though anyway!
I have fingerprint security to unlock the HTC 10.
Now I cannot wake the phone with double tap to wake. Is this a bug or a security issue which is normal?
thank you

Hi,
I'm using the stock ROM. I'm guessing it may have to do with HTC Lockscreen. Is there a way to reset it? Or possibly there is another strange reason for the problem
Thanks

I don't think so, but with Huawei's book case it wakes just by opening the case
Three years ago I planned to buy this phone, but the lack of this feature effectively discouraged me from buying it. I thought that HUAWEI would bow to the pressure of users and introduce this function in the next versions of EMUI. It's a pity, especially that now you can buy this device for about $ 300,
it hasn't it and is one of the most boring things imaginable.
But.. raise to wake is present

Wondering if double tap can work if downgrading to EMUI 9.1 whereby bootloader can be unlocked allowing one to modify the system settings?
