Hello everyone!
I recently decided to root my G4 (h815) and have downloaded the ADB drivers and have the drivers needed for the G4 however when I plug the phone into the PC ADB doesn't recognise the device is connected, even though the PC does know the phone is plugged in.
I have the phone set up correctly for debugging, and when I change to USB tethering the PC does make the little noise when a device is plugged in. I have tried in both USB 2 and USB 3 ports on two computers.
If it makes any difference the commands I used to try and get ADB to do something are:
ADB USB
ADB devices
Both say thre is no device connected.
Thanks in advance, sorry if this is in the wrong place.
Had the problem too, used WIN10, WIN 7, WIN XP. So i switched to Ubuntu.....that did the trick
are you enabled USB debugging in developers options?
Yes ADB is enabled.
I might try dualbooting with Ubuntu then. Seems odd that it doesn't work with Windows.

Hey folks,
been searching and searching without any luck so far, trying to find a solution to my phone not being reconzied if i put it in recovery (volD+boot, back+power), windows sees it fine if i open the phone normally and connect it to the pc.. and i can use the ADB shell to detect it
# ../../..: adb devices
but no adb connection if the phone is in volD+power or back+Power.
sometimes Windows detects the Android 1.0 in Device manager but i wont find the drivers no matter what kind/version i fetch off the interwebz and no matter where i put it. i worked once and now the connection is just broken...
i have gotten sick and tired of the fact that i cannot get paid APPS and that the phone is filled after like 10 APP installs so i decided to root specially cause there now was a fix for the brick ...
but it seems like im pretty stuck .. neither of the 2 Rooting methods work cause of the lacking connection.... barghh...
I hope my english is not to horrible for you to read...
Kind Regards
Vicster
HELP
Hi!!! i have this problem!!! Help we please!!!
I want use usb connection for tether, but driver not found or error connection.
Also got this issue, one week that I'm trying EVERYTHING
The device is well recognized by windows but the adb can't find it (it says no device found)...
Thanks a lot for the help!
Noob question. .. did u installed htc sync? It contain USB driver 4 Windows. ..
Yeah. I have installed HTC sync and the drivers, and i have downloaded the exctracted drivers and tried to point android 1. 0 to Them, but all w7 does is tell me that it did not find any drivers for the device.
Install the leatest HTC Sync....
Boot the Phone normally and activate USB-Debugging.
Wait for Windows this installed the driver....
boot your phone into recovery and now you have driver...
Worked for me
Windos 7 Ultimate x64
Do not plug your phone on any kinds of USB HUBS, USB Extender cabels, Front PC USB ports, or any kind of strange PC cards with USB ports.
Also use only original HTC cabel which you got with your phone.
Plug your phone in first USB port on the motherboard closes to the mouse and keyboard.
My phone wasnt recognized by ADB while it was conected to front USB ports, but other things where working fine (Sd card browsing and copying)
Try and report back if it helps.
I plugged it with the OEM HTC cable, also installed the latest HTC Sync, with both latest HTC and Android SDK x64 drivers, it just doesn't work..
On win 7 64 too.
Motherboard asus p5k,my device is working only with the rear usb port.
Must be a question of usb amperage...
Works fine for me, W7 x64 Ultimate, but I only use Windows to get into recovery - linux to root the phone initially
Hi all,
I just bought a Galaxy Nexus and I'm having problems with the ADB port: my Lenovo w520 laptop running win7x64 simply does not detect the ADB device in device manager. I tried connecting the phone to my wife's laptop (HP running win7x64) and the ADB device is detected so it is not a problem of the phone or the cable. On my pc I only get the Galaxy Nexus MTP device and that is all.
It is not a matter of driver, there is simply no device detected hence it is not possible to send ADB command.
I do not know if it is related, but samsung USB mobile driver fails during installation without giving a valid reason.
anyone having similar problem ?
thanks
cheerts
So... how do you know its not a driver issue? Sounds like one to me. Have you tried manually installing other drivers?
Well, what is actually strange is that:
1) if I connect the phone to my wife laptop with USB debugging ON and no driver installed (it's HER pc, I cannot install my stuff), a composite device with two devices (MTP and ADB) is detected.
2) in fastboot mode, my laptop detects the ADB port and install proper drivers; using Galaxy Nexus toolkit, I can successfully list my device.
When the phone is fully booted, my laptop simply see only the MTP device. If it were just a matter of driver i would simply get an Unknown device in win7 device manager...
thanks
cheers

Eh. Fastboot is all you need.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
After several attempts (including installing win7 x64 in a virtual machine ...) I finally solved my problem: it was indeed a driver issue, my win7 did not automatically searched for proper driver (and the Samsung driver is available on-line in windows update). I forced a driver update for the MTP device so that windows downloaded Samsung driver and now both the phone and ADB port are detected and working. It is still a mystery why the driver provided by various tool-kit failed to install, but nonetheless the GNex is now fully set-up.
Actually the solution is so dumb that I feel a bit ashamed of myself...
thank
bye
I bought eTouch tablet 7' ELONEX model ELX-765ETv2 some time ago and because of some problems on it I would like to install some diagnostic tools on it which require to root this tablet. To do so I need the usb driver to connect this tablet into pc to run adb program.
When I check it in the Device Manager on pc it shows it should be Android for Vortex driver
Is it any chance to get the usb driver for this tablet?
I would appreciate any help. Thank you.
I am looking for adb usb driver for my laptop ELONEX765
I had downloaded usb driver from LG website for phone LGV660 which is only Vortex one I've found anywhereLG LGVS660 Support: Find Manuals & Warranty Info | LG USA and afterwards I installed it and I did not see any difference (it just didn't work).
How to get adb usb driver for my tablet?
I've noticed my usb partly works only gives access to SD memory on tablet but it does not work for adb comments because tablet as device is not seen for adb commands. So I am guessing I must have adb usb driver which is a little different.
Still no idea where to get adb usb driver for my tablet?

Hey guys,
trying to root this beauty and Im running into problems. Been testing around for about 4 hours now, no solution.
Im Running Windows 8.1 and had a few other devices installed before. Cleaned up the drivers with the device manager and USBDeview.
At first I tried the Nexus Root Toolkit, simply followed the instructions until the final checkup. Device is connected in ADB mode but not authorized. (Authorization does not popup on N5x)
Also tried all different driver versions.
Then I cleaned all that stuff again and tried to go the manual way through the SDK. Same Problem, device is recognized but no authorization and no pop-up.
Im using a tronsmart Micro-USB to USB-C adapter and already tried two different cables and many different ports.
Also tried switching through the USB connection modes and toggling debugging on / off.
Im at my wits end here, anyone got a solution?
i have the same issue on n5x,
cant get recognized on adb at all or usb debug
Rooted without problems from my gf's Laptop. So I guess it's an issue with the PC / drivers.
I have latest SDK updates. And USB debug on. OEM unlock on many options on and off. Nothing works
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but anyway... I'm trying to connect my HTC One M8 (international edition - I'm in Australia) to linux. What should happen is that once the phone is plugged in to a USB port, then the linux command "lsusb" should show you that it's connected, and then you can go on with adb and fastboot. Well, on my system, lsusb shows nothing. I've tried four or five different cables, both USB ports (on my laptop), I've tried with USB debugging enabled and disabled, I've tried with mode set to charging, MTP, PTP. Nothing makes any difference; the phone remains completely invisible to the OS.
Is there something else I haven't tried? Or should I give up on this as a bad job, and live with the phone having its bootloader locked? FWIW, I'm using Archlinux, on a Lenovo X1 Carbon 3rd gen.
If this is not the right place for a question such as this, I'd be happy to be pointed in the direction of a better forum.
Thanks!
hello, the adb is it work in recovery mod?
please poste the output of lsusb, adb devices and fastboot devices.
in fastboot mod for the last commande.
Usb-utils installed? Or is it something different for archlinux?since ubuntu needs usbutils
