I have the above phone with unlocked bootloader and TWRP installed. I flashed the latest Superxe 1.7 then wiped the cache and rebooted. It asked me if I wanted to install supersu automatically. I said No and rebooted. After checking, my phone is not rooted yet the Kernel should have auto root. Am I missing something or do I need to say yes to installing root on TWRP.
Thanks in advance.

I'm at a loss as to what is wrong. I flashed a prerooted stock version of KitKat and I think root was working. But now for some reason it doesn't work. I flashed the supersu zip (v1.80) via TWRP recovery but after rebooting, the SuperSU app doesn't even show up on my device. When I install manually from thr Play Store it's as if I'm not rooted. I've flashed the zip multiple times and I do not want to factory reset and delete all my data (especially since I really can't backup without root atm). Any ideas?
Edit: sorry about the post title typo. *flashing
LG G3 D855, 16Gb UK Model with quickcase
I have earlier put on TWRP, and Cyanogenmod 12.1, and super su, quickcase view etc.
supersu had to be installed via twrp, as the app from playstore would not update the binary
then downloaded xposed 3.1 apk and installed that
now it asked to install xposed so
then downloaded xposed-v74-sdk22-arm-by-romracer-20150911.zip and saved into downloads
booted into twrp recovery, installed it, and rebooted
now it no longer boots, gets stuck at the blue face logo.
I have tried to go back into recovermode,
advanced , terminal and created /data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf/disabled
but it is still getting stuck on reboot.
no idea what to do now.
I could consider complete wipe/reflash, but would like to recover this.
any help appreciated.
thanks.
Update:
copied xposed-v75-sdk22-arm.zip to sdcard, and used twrp to install that.
Seems to have fixed the bootloop problem. Now need to get xposed correctly installed.
Not sure why I had downloaded the romracer version.
My oneplus 3 was rooted (oxygen 3.2.5 maybe) but I installed the update 3.2.6 today from phone by going into settings. When the phone got updated my root does not work anymore. Please help.
I forgot how I rooted my phone before but it was still on android 6 when I rooted.
When I reboot I still get the black screen saying the device can't be trusted because xxxxxxxxxx Is unlocked, dont remember what.
Usb debugging is on as well as oem unlocked ( these options are still showing unlocked when i went to settings but don't know if they are ACTUALLY unlocked.
Xposed luck patcher, etc not working
Root checker says root not installed properly
Used twrp before.
Also is there any way that I can re-root my phone again without data loss?
Its my first post ever in any form so dont know about posting much.
You can mail me too at [email protected].
Thanks
Try flashing Super su manually from Recovery
Flash latest SuperSU (I think it is 2.78) in twrp. Flash xposed module in twrp too
If you did the official update from Settings > System Updates, then you are most likely back to stock recovery as well. You're going to have to re flash twrp before you can flash root and xposed. You will not lose data by performing any of these steps as your bootloader is still unlocked.

Download twrp
Boot to fastboot
fastboot boot sometwrp.img
Flash supersu from temporary twrp

If you had root and custom recovery (TWRP) then you couldn't have updated by this method as it wouldn't have worked. You need to reflash SuperSU in TWRP as others have stated.
Much simple: from recovery (hope you're having TWRP installed) flash latest SuperSU and Xposed zip file.
Then Wipe Cache/Dalvik, then reboot in System.
If you won't to lose root, you should consider a custom rom like FreedomOS, that provides SuperSU binary by itself (even Xposed, if I'm not wrong).
Pixel XL running 8.0.0 OPR3.170623.007, developer options and USB Debugging are both on.
I was rooted for a while now, then I tried using one of my root-only apps and it told me it can't get root access.
I looked for SuperSU, which was missing.
I unrooted and rerooted using Skipsoft Unified Android Toolkit.
It flashed SuperSU 2.82 and flashed TWRP 3.1.1.1. The TWRP flashed just fine, but no matter how many times I flash SuperSU, it doesn't show up in my app drawer and the phone is still not rooted. I tried SuperSU 2.82 and the SR5 stable beta, neither worked. I also tried installing it through the Play Store after flashing it, it goes through the install process then just give me the option to install again, never fixes my issue.
Any idea on what I can do next?
edit: I updated to 3.2.0.0 and was able to root. Flashing the most recent beta and non-beta Magisk versions did not work, neither did installing the SuperSU APK. Once I updated to 3.2.0.0 I was able to root with Magisk just fine.
Flash the stock boot.img to both slots and reroot. Use SR5.
I would also advise to start by flashing the stock boot image. I would then boot twrp, flash twrp, then flash latest su.
If that doesn't work I would try going with the latest magisk zip (14.5)
I should have mentioned this, Unified Tool Kit flashed the factory boot image before releasing the latest TWRP and then flashing the most recent SuperSU. I did try flashing SR5 with negative results.
I'll give Magisk a try.

I followed 1,2,3,4,8, zero issues on 8.1.
I had a problem rooting with SuperSU. When i TWRP flashed it, it wouldnt show up in my apps, but my device was still rooted. For some reason the app just wasnt showing up so im using Magisk 14.5 instead...

Common issue. You can grab the app apk from inside the zip and install it.
I tried flashing both beta and non-beta Magisk versions and installing the SuperSU APK, nothing worked.
I saw that a new TWRP got released, 3.2.0.0. I flashed that and was able to successfully root. Thanks for your help, guys.
Hi guys it's been a while since I've rooted any devices but decided to root my LG G PAD 8.3 (V500), since it is so outdated. I'm gonna go over exactly what I did on how I got here to better understand. Sorry in advance for the long winded post.
-Anyway, I had to downgrade to 4.2.2 by using the LG Flash Tool 2014.
-Then, I rooted my device by running root.bat Also, I had SuperSU when I rooted.
-After rooting, I installed TWRP via the play store, downloaded the most recent twrp.img and flashed it via the app. It took me forever to get to recovery by pressing power+volume down and then pressing power+volume down+volume up. But after what felt like 20+ tries, I got to TWRP recovery.
-I wiped my phone and flashed the most recent Lineage ROM. Unfortunately, after flashing the ROM, I could not flash GApps because it rebooted to the ROM after flashing. TWRP let me know that I had to update TWRP and since I did not have the play store and I was once again having trouble getting into recovery, I downloaded the most recent TWRP apk.
-When trying to open the apk, it gave me a "can't open file" message which I didn't understand why. After rebooting, for some reason, it then let me run the TWRP apk and installed the TWRP app. This is when I found out that I was no longer rooted because TWRP notified me. I double checked with root checker and indeed I was no longer rooted. I have no idea when or how that happened.
-Again, I couldn't get into TWRP recovery until I plugged in my phone to my PC and for whatever reason, it helped me get into recovery. I wiped the phone and proceeded to flash Lineage and GApps.
-I read that by flashing SuperSu I may regain root, so downloaded an updated SuperSu, went into recovery and flashed SuperSu. When rebooting, the LG screen came up with a message at the top left corner reading "secure booting error! Boot certification verify". At that point, I was in a bootloop and had to go into recovery, wipe and flash again minus supersu. So I am now on Lineage with GApps and no root.
How do I regain root? And anyone know how I was able to lose it? Back in the day when I was into flashing, I never had these problems and never lost root out of nowhere like this.
Also, if I wanted to get back to stock LG 4.2.2, how would I go about that? I know that currently, I can't use the LG Flash Tool 2014 because my current ROM does not have a USB Software option in order for the tool to recognize the tablet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
