First of all, sorry for my poor English. I hope any of you could help me with this.
I have a GT-N7100. The terminal had a few days causing problems slowdowns style and so on. Suddenly I get the message "System uid inconsistent" appears and, after the corresponding scares, it seems that the solution passes through a "fix permissions". I do it and it seems quite right when, after a normal restart gone me of my data. To understand, I still get the app whatsapp as user but I have to reconfigure, like the rest of the apps.
Thinking that the problem is the inconsistency that I take to be able to reset and flash the latest SamMobile, the N7100XXUFOC2. Well, everything smoothly and mobile up and running until I turn it off and turn back to me and does not pass the logo of "Samsung Galaxy Note II".
Well, I could do nothing at all to revive. All gave me error, re-flash the rom itself, repartition, bootloader, try a recovery ....
I found a "rom factory" in an Arab forum, the N7100XXUFND4, with its pit, the bootloader, AP, and csc all cp "low end user" and either.
I also tried the xda thread of making your own rescue tar and nothing.
What I have seen on youtube is a colleague teaching the same screen attached the pictures and saying it is a sudden death affected. The fact is that I have gone to hell partitions.
Note had only 3 years. I posted this in a Spanish fórum but i had no answer. ¿What do you think?
Thanks!!!

I tried odin with a Factory rom and nothing. Kies allow an emergency firmware update but could not start process (think due partition).
Thanks for the reply. I will think a lot next time for Samsung.

Ok, first of all, new to rooting and all that follows. However, I'm not new to forums and if this is in the wrong category, or if I overlooked a similar post, I am sorry. Feel free to redirect me to wherever you see fit. I know just too well how similar posts can be annoying, but I feel like I've exhausted Googlesearching and looked everywhere I can think of.
So, I have a Note II. N7100, Android 4.4.2 and I want to root it. Googlesearching has found me a lot of nice looking ROMs, and besides looks the added functions tempt me. Wont be long until I upgrade to a Note 4 or 5 anyway, figure I might as well. For what its worth, I live in Norway, and AT&T does not exist over here, nor does any other major american carrier. USB debugging was on the entire time.
I got the Odin V3.10, and appropriate clockworksmod files, and thought everything was peaches. Into download mode (after backing up ofc), Odin finds it, I upload everything and Odin says "PASS" in nice, green letters. When it reboots, it looks the same as before, but.. "Unfortunately, SuperUser has stopped", Titanium backup does not work since it apparently isnt rooted. Root Checker says the same. However, when checking for updates my phone displays "The operating system on your device has been modified in an unautorized way. Try downloading software updates using Samsung KIES on your PC, or visit a customer service center."
Read alot about devices having to be unlocked from carrier, however all google searches on "how to check for carrier lock on Note 2" yields numbersequences I have to input into the dialler and dial. None of the sequences give anything other than "Connection problem or invalid MMI code". I honestly dont remember if its carrier locked or not.
I came across an article here on XDA saying that with the later versions of android, KNOX has become an issue when trying to root, but someone had found a way around it. I downloaded MJ5BLPatch.tar.md5, uploaded to my phone via Odin, and here it fails, looses connection with the device and cant reconnect. Phone displays something alon the lines of "Invalid magic code" or the similar in red text.
I am the newb here, looking for help, and if I screwed up big somewhere I am cool with a little flaming. I just want to squeeze this for what use I can before upgrading, and probably rooting that too.
Any help as to how I can root it and load custom ROMs? I appreciate any and all help, sincerely.
Forget that MJ5 bootloader related stuff.
Reflash CWM using Odin and untick auto reboot, run through and reboot manually.
After reboot into recovery flash SuperSu.zip, start supersu after reboot system and disable knox by following the advices from app.
Thank you very much. i feel exceedingly stupid, I had been using the guide found on Note2root.com, when I applied step by step from this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2143479) everything worked out. hope this may be of help to anyone having the same issues.
Again, thank you very much for your help.
Hi I was wondering if anyone here can help me in a very very annoying situation I got myself in. So pretty much I flashed a Lolipop ROM on my phone and it worked but i really didn't like that the camera didn't work, so I restored back to a backup I made of my original firmware. Everything seemed to be working but I was constantly getting Google Play crashes spammed at me each second... so I tried to wipe the device. At this point I didn't care about losing data I just wanted to have stock firmware and fresh device. It it nothing I ended up bricking my phone so now when I power it on it says, "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again. I'm a noob at this stuff and so for the last two days i've been searching for 'stock firmware' or 'stock ROMS' for Sprint Galaxy S III SPH-L710 I've downloaded these .tar.md5 files and tried flashing them with Odin but it always fails! It's so frustrating and I'm pretty sure it's an easy fix its just I'm so dumb to see it and I also can't use my phone :/... PLEASE HELP EVEN SUGGESTIONS ARE FINE......
Thanks

Can you get into download mode? Turn off the phone. Then press power + Volume Down + Home. If so, go to this site: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/confirm/41671/L710VPUDNJ2_L710SPRDNJ2_SPR/
Download the file, unzip, and then flash with ODIN. Make sure your phone is plugged into the computer and recognized in ODIN before flashing. The new version of ODIN, I think you load it in the PA slot and PDA in the old one. Make sure you are downloading hte file over a good connection and not a phone data.

Do you have the T variant of the phone? Look under the back cover and make sure that whatever you flash is specifically for your model number.
Hello, first timer here. I have never tried rooting or anything, but today I finally decided to... and messed it up.
Verizon Samsung Note 2 SCH-i605 (yes, still.)
Got it on July 2nd, 2013, so I believe it was build 4.1.1 kernel 3.1? Not too sure on the legalities
Completely unrooted and unmodded
I was using kingo root and everything was fine until it hit about 52% on the rooting process when my computer lost connection with my phone. Since, it gave me the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue" problem. So then I google-fu'd and followed directions of:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2040264
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2120726
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582290
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024207
etc.
and used Odin 3.10.7 (and 3.10.0 just in case, both on and off admin mode cause why not) on every single md5 available in all those links and the one from sammobile.com for sch-i605.
And each time, I would either received failure on "sboot.bin" or receive the "System Software Not Authorized" error if succeeded (it was stuck in bootload? too, kept flashing the logo then the error message). The VERY first time, however, it actually brought me to that page where I'm allowed to press things like erase cache, factory reset, or reboot my phone. There, I chose all those options in the order I've listed them. And ever since I haven't seen that screen again.
My issue seems to be every problem I can find put together, and can't seem to resolve it with my skills alone. I honestly don't care about recovering my data (which I believe is impossible now anyway) or rooting my phone. I just want it to turn on again.
Thanks in advance.
p.s. getting a new phone isn't an option currently

Checked my verizon wireless software upgrade assistant for some info, and it says "Up to date" and "Version ND3" if that means anything to you pros out there.

Thank you for using XDA Assist. To get you the best possible assistance, I'm going to move this thread to your device's Q&A forum. Good luck!

KIES is unable to read my phone (tried the bottom 3 versions of it), and I've tried running Odin 3.07 and unchecked repartition for every stock and restore md5s I had for my phone... the ones that didn't fail sboot.bin are still giving me unauthorized error.
I'll keep trying all the combinations, but it seems moot at this point.
I'm kind of at a loss here. Right now I'm staring at a bright blue screen on my Samsung SM-A520W saying "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software."
So, my initial goal was to get Magisk on my old A5... Obviously things went wrong somewhere.
Right now the only thing I have access to is Odin mode... but that honestly gets me no where no matter what I try. I have tried downloading the Stock Firmware from a few different sources (Firmware.mobi, sammobile, and some other place I can't remember anymore). I'm sure I've always selected A520"W" and haven't confused it with any other letter like F, L, K, or w.e. The files have always given me the BL, AP, CP and 2 CSC files. I always try both the CSC files but it constantly failed at hidden.img. Then it was randomly failing at param something... maybe boot.img, unsure. Now it's failing at cm.bin
I tried doing what the error message told me to do but that literally does nothing. I've tried googling and looking for answers, but I've come up with nothing. I may honestly be the first one to **** up this bad lol. As a last ditch effort before posting here, I went to Samsung support. They just told me to go to a Service center. Which, to be fair, is fairly close by and I was planning on heading out in that direction tomorrow anyways.
But I honestly don't know if they will fix my old sort of cracked phone since I'm almost positive I ****ed every kind of warranty or good will I had with this phone, haha. Hoping you guys can help me out or even point me in the right direction, thanks!
PS. I'm using Odin3 v3.13
What is the error message given by Odin when it fails? Depending on that try update/reinstall of Samsung USB driver, could also be the cable causing the problem.
Also when you go into Download mode make sure it says "FRP Lock: off" and there's nothing about "RMM state" in the writing on the top left.
It shouldn't matter that much which CSC you use, one of them wipes user data, the other doesn't.

Did you try to flash just AP and BL partition? If you haven't, try it.

just download the latest updates installed via odin
Hello!
I'm a total novice in this and I admit that maybe I shouldn't have gotten into it. Here's my story: I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 (SM-G960F) and I bought it in France (I don't know what kind of model it is exactly). Last June I had installed crDroid 6.7 without any problem, and yesterday I thought that it's been a long time since I updated the OS so I wanted to upgrade to crDroid 7.2. But this upgrade didn't suit me at all because I hadn't installed the right GApps packages.
So I formatted everything thanks to TWRP but the mistake is that I checked everything in "Advanced wipe" so I find myself without any firmware nor anything. I searched for a few hours for a stock G960F firmware compatible with my phone blindly because I don't know my precise model. On Odin, it's always blocked at the "recovery.img" step. The only time it went further than that, there was a "fail" and an error was and is still displayed: "An errror has occured while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software".
Here's what I'm wondering: did I totally brick my phone and it's a waste of time? Or I'm just looking wrong and I downloaded the wrong firmware all the time. (I'd like to go back to the basic Galaxy OS, i.e. One UI, but I have to install the stock firmware first, right?)
Thanks for reading, I know it's stupid of me to want to do something without a tutorial or anything, sorry

Your exact model will be SM-960F, you can check this in 'Download Mode'. I'm sure you know how to get into that as you mention you're using Odin. Third line down, look for 'Product Name'.
If you can get into Download Mode, then its likely not hard bricked.
Try getting your firmware from sammobile, take a few hours in free mode.

by exact model, I mean like the "PDA" or "CSC" ; by the way I don't really know what this stands for and what is it exactly.
On SAMMobile should I download a firmware of my country (France) or something else? is it that important?
** The downloads are extremely slow, shouldn't I download my firmware through a third-party software like Frija ?
