please help me! Nexus 7 2013 flo wifi authentication problem - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

please anyone could help me out to restore my nexus 7 2013 wifi tablet. I couldnt be able to get pass the wifi opening set up it says authentication problem, I tried several wifi devices but it just can't connect through. It was happen after when i change its mac address. The story there is, i change my mac address because one of our neighbor's wifi seems always blocking my mac address so i really need to have or change it into a new one so i could connect to their wifi again, at the first place it worked smoothly as if everything is not screwd (here is the directory/path ive changed "/persist/wifi/.mcadress" then i edited the values) running kitkat version 4.4.4 ktup8. So this morning i decided to wipe its data and cache and it booted but now i cannot connect to any wifi im stuck in the opening set up, tried also reverting to another stock rom 6.0.1 marshmallow still the problem exist and i can still see the mcaddress it still not change to the default one even though i reflashed it into a different firmware. Please i dont want to lose my tablet im begging you guys. And Iam so careless that I dont have any a nandroid back up or please anyone could give me a file a nandroid back up so I could restore it using wugfresh toolkit. Please help me....

tldr; He was freeloading off his neighbor's wifi and the neighbor blocked him via his mac address. So he changed his mac address to get around it and the neighbor blocked that one too. Now he can't change it again and corrupted his network stack in the process.

[Q] WIFI connects but no internet?

Today I updated my ROM from LeeDroid v2.5 to v3.0.8.2. I wiped my phone first. After this I rebooted, then rebooted again into recovery and installed the recommended radio (32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08). Then I restored my apps+dat with Titanium back up and rebooted again.
It soon became apparent that whilst mobile internet was working fine, WIFI wasn't. While my phone will connect to the router it won't connect to the internet. If I enter the local IP of my router I can browse the settings fine. I tried "forgetting" the network and re-entering security code but this still didn't work.
I restored my v2.5 nandroid backup and the internet worked fine, the radio is still 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08.
So I did a fresh install of the v3.0.8.2 ROM and tried connecting to WIFI again and again the same problem.
So my question is, is this an inherent problem with the ROM, and if so why does no one else seem to have this problem, or is it a setting issue?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Also I tried changing the WIFI channel as suggested in another WIFI thread, and this didn't change anything. Except the WIFI channel obviously.
And I tried a static IP address and that didn't work either.

Yes I tried turning my router off for a couple of minutes then switching it back on. Didn't change anything.

Did you sort it?
I think you need to wait before the router give your router assign an ip for your phone, btw, some router donot fit all phone model
Yes thanks I managed to sort it today by following this thread
Apparently the fault is inherent to Android 2.3.3 and seems to present itself mainly with Thompson routers. It was a static IP I needed, I'd not entered the details properly the first time.
Thanks for the replies!

[Q] Problems with dynamic IP address

Hello Everyone, some days ago I've made a Factory Reset on my HTC Desire because was giving me some minor problems. After the reset the phone began to give me a strange and absolutely new problem: every time I try to connect trough wifi connection to a router with DHCP enabled I can't connect, meanwhile if I try to connect to a Router with DHCP disabled (so using static IP address) it works. I tried to understand what that could be, but without any luck. So I tried to flash the latest radio and latest RIL using fastboot but nothing changed. This is driving me crazy. Any Idea?!
What ROM, Hboot, etc. are you using? Do you get any errors when trying to connect to router?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Hello again! I solved my problem. I want to post here my solution so that if anyone else get in the sam trouble can find a possible solution. I was using a Cyanogen mod 7 ROM, the problem was that when I made a factory reset, without noticing, I changed my memory tables. Restoring the old memory tables, (specific tables for CM7) using HBOOT, everything gone fine.
Hope that this would be of any help to someone in future.

Router crashing with new Jelly Time rom

Hey guys,
I tried searching and could not find a similar problem.
Since getting the new rom I have noticed that my wireless router has been experiencing connection issues. all my devices show connectivity but i dont have access to the net. Anyways i decided to have a look and the android is creating multiple Ip entries on the router with the same mac address and everytime I turn the wifi off on my phone the problem does not occur.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Have you tried going into development settings and turning of Android Debugging or ADB over network? Just a suggestion, not sure if it will work.

nah cant be that, I had them turned off already.
Thanks for replying anyway. I searched google and its a pretty common problem with no concrete solution, might need to flash the rom again.

Why don't you try binding the MAC Address to a static IP so it's no longer able to create multiple entries on the DHCP Table?
tjturko13 - have you tested to use another standard 802.11 Modus - instead "n"? Just switch it at your phone or router.
What router do you have? Can you update the firmware? ^^

i dont think my router allows this, the only option I have is to specify if I want to allow mac filtering.

Did you get your new rom over the air? (Stock rom)
Or did you flash a custom rom?
You have to give us more software informations about your rom. Is your device s-on or s-off?
Stock rom you need the right RUU exe file. Just doubleclick - yes yes yes
Custom rom you need to download the custom boot.img.

I'm sorry for you.
- You could even try to change the wifi-channel to 1, 4 or 6 and disable wifi-security in the second attempt for test only.
- Try also to set a static ip in your phone (for your wlan).
- If you are bored you can reset the whole router to its factory defaults and leave all standard. Just enable wlan (and the isp connection) - but dont change the default ssid, wlan-security or channel etc.
Otherwise I have no more ideas.
With google you can find dozens of users crashing their routers with android or ios phones . Good luck dude!

Ive had this problem to since switching to 'randomblame's kernel based ROMS (jellytime CM, jellytime aokp and jellytime by PACMAN - Paranoid, CM and AOKP).
Apparently it is a kernel issue and the only thing you can do is some of the things above or here
I was here hoping there might be a fix... I tried static IP, changing the router channel, WIFI never sleep etc etc etc.
The only workaround I found so far was to turn off wifi when Im done, it only seems to break when the phone is inactive for 5 minutes +.

Exact same problem here. It took some time before I figured out that my phone was overwriting my gateway's MAC address, but I finally saw that message from another machine in my network:
Code:
arp info overwritten for 192.168.1.254 by 91:31:58:5d:e8:34
1.254 being my gateway's IP. I also tried giving my phone a static DHCP entry but it just didn't change anything. Any useful sysctl maybe ?
FWIW, it seems I "fixed" that issue by making my routers MAC address association permanent on my (manageable) switch. That obviously don't fix the real problem, but does not shut down the router's NIC. FYI, on a GNU/Linux machine, this is done with the arp command, i.e.:
Code:
# arp -s 192.168.1.254 00:ca:fe:ba:be:00
192.168.1.254 being your router's IP

As a short-term test, set your access point up to be completely open access and see if the Note can connect to it.
If it can, verify that the security settings you add back in match what you're adding back in on the Note.
If you get to a point where there's an element you can't match, your wifi router logs may be helpful (depends on the quality of the AP how much logging it will do.)
The bad news is that some devices and some APs just don't play well together. Hopefully you can find a setting where your device is playing nicely.
maybe not ROM
My Note 2 has the same problem
i think issue with samsung maybe
any help please post
Have you tried simply power cycling the router (unplug, wait a minute, then plug in again)?

2x LG G3 with CM12 same mac address. Wifi issue. Original MAC??

I have 2x LG G3 d851
both have since i have installed CM12 the same MAC Address: 00:90:4C:C5:12:38 thats why i have Wifi issues on the same network.
i tried to change the mac address but after a reboot both devices get the same mac address again.
Is there a permanent way to change?
I dont know either whats the original address was?
Is it a known bug?
Thanks

Finally ... and a solution
Finally affirmation I am not alone.
I have two G3s in my household and noticed this since LP AOSP was available. Posted a few times and was told "user error." I have the exact same MAC address with every ROM.
Install Pry-Fi from the almighty chainfire and select "MAC spoofing while connected."
It took a couple reboots and toggling on/off for it to stick for me.

yeah but this is not permanent. keeps reverting back after each flash. i need to find my original mac address.
I also have this issue. Has anyone found a fix?
This may be inconvenient but possibly revert all the way back to stock make note of the addresses and then reflash i assume if you restore the original addresses should show up

I would assume this would get the original MAC back for us as well, as it is embedded into the hardware itself. The problem is that just having the original MAC doesn't fix the issue of CM12 assigning the "default" broadcom MAC address. (Sorry if that came out harshly).

I'm not sure if it'll be the same with you guys running G3s, but I'm having the same issue with my Optimus G Pro. I just flashed my phone back to 4.1.2 stock, and my MAC is still 00:90:4C:C5:12:38. The only time I've been able to change it was when I flashed a custom kernel for CM12 that had the random MAC address bug.
Next time I get a phone, I'm going to be sure to write down my original MAC address. Not that it matters...I haven't found any way to change the address which would survive a reboot.
I have been able to change my address by following the direction posted herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-0-t2945461/post57127283#post57127283
This does stick after a reboot but may not after a ROM flash/update. Hopefully this helps someone out as it should work for many if not all devices affected by this issue.
