For those of *you looking for Android 6.0 Marshmallow and root for your Galaxy Note 3, we finally have a beta version of CM13!
Now, this is still WIP (Work in Progress) as almost everything is working except phone calls, the ROM does NOT recognize SIM cards. * But if you want to try all of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow features, you can easily make a backup ROM of your current ROM, try out the ROM, then revert back to your working ROM.
This CM13 beta version actually runs very smooth, fast and you will be able to experience latest Android 6.0 features like new DOZE feature that will extend the battery when you are not using your phone, advanced permissions control for apps, dedicated memory settings, and much more.
Overall, I would say stable versions are not too far away and if you want to try out Android 6.0 Marshmallow on your Note 3, just flash away and do let me know what you think!

That page is pretty outdated. There are decently stable versions of CM13 now available in the main note3 forum:

Both links work. I think it's a tapatalk problem. I've heard others mention the same problem.

Hey guys, i would like to know how to pick the right kernel for a specific Rom.
My goal is to Root and flash my Galaxy nexus (4.3 Stock) Running on the Videotron.com Carrier (I would suppose its GSM, i have a simcard) with paranoid android, and franco kernel.
My questions are as follows,
1- Are Franco kernel and paranoid android compatible?
2- Will it really help me on Ram and Battery life.
3- Can someone please explain to me how to pick the right firmware, the right kernel, and google apps version.
This is my 3rd android phone, and i always needed help with this, but i would like to learn it myself. (i am not a pc noob, i just never played with phones)
This is my phone right now

By the way, i am willing to donate when it gets done.
1. You have to use the correct version of any kernel that matches your OS version. So if you are on 4.3 use any 4.3 kernel.
2. Custom kernels usually help with battery life but you will have to try many different kernels to see which is best for you.
3. Like I said in answer no. 1 everything should match the OS you are on. If you are on 4.3 then you will need to use a kernel that is for 4.3 and gapps that are for 4.3, if you on 4.2.2 then use 4.2.2 kernel/gapps.
PS- I am not sure what you mean by "donating when it gets done" but feel free to donate to our great devs

Hi,
I have a GNex from videotron. Rooted it 20 minutes after getting it from videotron store
Yes, it's a gsm. The model is maguro.
I was on paranoidandroid 3 weeks ago and it really cool.
You need to download their rom from the dev section. There is a link to download gapps in the same thread.
If you want to keep it simple, no need to flash any kernel. Stock PA kernel is fine.
Happy flashing

STAGEFRIGHT PATCH
I was asked to see if I could make a patch for the remaining vulnerability from the m9vzw OTA.
So I gave it a shot and here is the result:

For those of you running stock(rooted) or some other custom 5.1 Sense based rom, this "should" work for you.
The link below is the flashable patch/zip that you can apply in TWRP.
WARNING:
Please make a backup or be prepared to wipe and reflash your rom if things don't go as intended.
It should not cause anyone issues who is running a 5.1 based Sense rom, but better to be safe then sorry.
As I won't be held responsible if your device bootloops or if a sinkhole forms around you and swallows you whole.
Yes, you must be s-off/unlocked to apply the patch.

Error: 410 Gone
In some spare time between work & travel I put together a TWRP build + tree for the Mi Pad 2 using prebuilt binaries (kernel & modules) from MIUI 8.12.x developer packages.

At the moment it seems fully functional (zip, backup, restore, screenshot, sideload working for me), but the GUI is a bit laggy and touch isn't as responsive as it should be.

Feel free to make it yourself if you cannot even appreciate someone's effort.
Too laggy to use. Swipe take 1 minute to perform. Usually it is 1 second.
Waiting for the lag fix, besides that works fine

thanks for this! hope we get fixed version too.. that is not laggy as this then its perfect!
@Harrynowl, how about the lag fix? would it possible to fix it? because this is nearly perfect..

There are other working TWRP recoveries for Mi Pad 2. Flash one of them. Which features specifically do you need from the new version?

Hi, is there any news about the lag fix?

Does not work the USB OTG in this version, in version 3.0.2 worked perfectly.
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for custom ROMs that have all the dumb little S-Pen gimmicks. Or would I be better off just re-flashing stock? SM-N975F
I stay stock and no higher than Android 10.
Once you have firmware that runs well and is stable... leave it be.

Thanks! I was thinking of going this route anyways. Tried 12 on it, not a huge fan. :/ Where do you get your stock ROMs from?

It just what was loaded on the phone when bought. One is Android 9, the newest N10+ is running on 10. Both are running well so I leave the firmware be.

Ahh, okay! I've already tried a couple different ROMs, and didn't make a backup before lol.

Lol, I know it sounds so boring. Not like I loaded 20 different roms until I found the perfect one
The current load on this phone will be 2 yo in June with minimal maintenance. No malware breaches in that time span.
However it's setup is optimized and workarounds for any problems have been found.
I use a package disabler, Karma Firewall, Brave browser and this DNS setting.
