[Q] SUPERUSER Not working in 4.4.4 AOKP

I installed AOKP 4.4.4 ROM today. But the default superuser app is not working at all. I am handicapped totally because of it. Even the developer's option is not turning on even after hitting Build Number button 7 times. Plz help me fix this as no one in that thread seems to have that problem. I installed a different SUPERUSER app. It says binary is not updated. Where do I update the binaries from? I checked the root status of my phone with the help of ROOT CHECKER app and it says U don't have root access. How the hell did I flash a custom ROM without root access. I am totally confused. My phone is XPERIA M SS C1905
That happens to me all the time in CM11. What you're gonna have to do is replace the su binary as it is not suitable for the ROM (I think). Just head over to this page, download the file, then flash with CWM or TWRP. After flashing, uncheck the setting in SuperSU that says "Respect... ( I forgot the other words)". Then you're good to go.

Do you have Busy box installed? If not then Install busy box and install superuser from play store

@akandi
1) First go unlock your Bootloader Here ( Official Sony Website )
2) Download the Latest SuperSU Zip File
3) Download any Custom Kernel ( For Lollipop Of Course ) found in the Android Development Section, or you can use the boot.img kernel found in any CM 12 Rom
4) Flash the kernel on your Z1 Compact via Flashtool and enter recovery and flash the Latest SuperSU Zip File.
5) DO NOT REBOOT! Power Down and open Flashtool
6) Select the .270 FW and Uncheck All Except Kernel and FOTA ( Uncheck Final Verification ) here we reflash the stock kernel since using the CM kernel on Stock ROM would cause a bootloop
7) Flash and reboot
or
Install Kingroot on your Computer, root your phone and once your phone receives root access install NUT's Dual Recovery, after which uninstall the Kingroot Superuser app and use SuperSU instead since its less buggy and more stable.
With the first method, once your bootloader is unlocked it is very easy to root your device even when Sony updates it. Personally I used the first method to root my phone
Does the second method unlock my bootloader?

Root issue running nougat (NRD90R)

Let's make this quick. Received nougat update, decided to root device, nougat version is nrd90r, twrp recovery version is 3.0.2-2, superSU tells me that I properly have root, root apps ask for root, the root apps never end up working and now I just want lollipop back. Tried cm 13 nightly but the zip file errors every time and I've downloaded it many times. Can someone give me some help. All I need is a rooted phone that works with Xposed. Thanks in advance for the help

right now xposed isn't compatible with nougat anyway.
to got back to M or L follow section 11 of this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/guides-how-to-guides-beginners-t3206930
after that you can install twrp, supersu and xposed again.
I kNow nougat doesn't have Xposed yet and I was content with waiting it out but root doesn't even work. And I have some Google app that need to be removed lol. Thanks for the help I'll get back to you on the process!

It isn't that root isn't working, is that the apps your using need an update on how they call su. Su has changed with Android n and some things need updates to support it

How to chose the right version of SuperSU.zip for flashing?

I flashed TWRP on my ZE551ML (Z00A-WW-2.20.40.198) and wanted to root a clean stock rom. I have successfully done so before on the same device by installing "BETA-SuperSU-v2.67-20160121175247.zip" downloaded from the official Chainfire site. I thought it would be better to have the newest version, so this time I tried to install "SR1-SuperSU-v2.79-SR1-20161221223537" from the same source. However, after installing that file, the phone stayed in a bootloop for around 10 minutes.
1. Is it normal for it to take that long, or does that mean that the second file is incompatible with my phone?
2. Did I chose the wrong file, and should I have tried to install "BETA-SuperSU-v2.67-20160121175247.zip"?
3. Which zip should I install?
I have uninstalled again, and my phone boots. What I am asking about here is which file to install.

Use the zip that worked before , you might have to update ...binaries after ..is all
Why you don't update to M is beyond me , the N lineage ROM is back on track by dev jrior too

Thanks!
I've tried M already, but my favorite Xposed modules didn't work.
Is Xposed working on N?

Root is working beautifully on L, I've already installed the same SuperSU. Xposed modules are really important to me. One of my favorite modules, NetworkSpeedIndicator, didn't work for me on M. So I'm sticking with L for now. If I can get all my Xposed modules to work on M or N then I will happily upgrade

then you will have to flash it via flashtool -
on windows 7 or 10 pc
assuming xperia companion and sa0107 drivers for z5p motherboard installed.
- please install flashtool from www.flashtool net and update it via replacing xjar files (details are given on the downloadpage)
- once installed, from c:\flashtool\drivers\ folder install this package. and select z5p from the list with common flashmode and fastboot mode drivers also.
later.... download ftf file using xperifirm and flasht your z5p manually
some time back i replied to similar question

I thought it's clear you CAN'T update OTA if your phone's rooted or if the bootloader's unlocked
