I want to port a Lollipop ROM to an Android device which has only a KitKat ROM. In order to find the fitting Lollipop drivers, I would like to know the exact HW specs (like cam, display, WiFi+BT, GPS, etc..). Then I plan to inject these driver files in the template LP ROM.
So I had the idea I could find out the exact HW specs by disassembling the libraries from the base ROM. So I checked several files (libcam.so, wifi... .so, etc.) in the base KK ROM, but could not find any hints.
Can anybody help me, how I can identify the exact HW of the critical components by the ROM?

framework damaged on Star X18i

I damaged the folder framework of this phone and I can not start it.
Is freezing on the blue android honeycomb screen.
I'm trying to install the new Android 2.3.4 firmware but I can not connect to SP Flash Tool.
How do I? The program does not recognize it. Help me please!

Here i am finding some thing about Star X18i Camera, Screen and flashlight problem..
Just a little trick for those who are worried about Blank Screen, Or Camera Problem, Or Flash light Problem.
Many complain that after flashing the phone "fall off" the camera (front or rear), the display is not working properly (does not show anything, skewed, wrong brightness, wrong color and so on). The fact is that the manufacturer of the device changes over time. In different batches of devices can be set to the same array of cameras, different display controllers. To account for these situations in uboot firmware file made every possible driver (at the time of the release of firmware) for the cameras and display specific device. All you have to do - is to specify the correct sensors front and rear camera and a faithful display controller. Do not worry if you make a mistake in these parameters. Just ask one more time and options.
If both options are not suitable, then ... If the display is not working properly - Pick up the correct display of the controller are available for selection. If not working the front or rear camera (or both), pick the correct sensor for the camera. Of the camera is easy to check by running a standard Camera program.
OPEN uboot file in any hex editor and find these lines..
AGOLD$LCM$DRV
Here put your Display driver name i.e (truly3p2049$R) without braces.
And then find this line.
AGOLD$CAM$DRV hi253yuv hi704yuv NONE
Replace hi253yuv with ov3660yuv and do not edit anything else.

After specifying all the data for the cameras and the display controller save and close the program.
Open the program SP Flash Tool.
Push the button Scatter-loading and select the file Android_scatter.txt (he is in the folder with the firmware).
Remove all ticks except uboot and Flash this file..

Kernel source code allows you to compile a Kernel for the Padfone.
It is not the complete firmware you are looking for
Please tell me more about the problems you are having. I understand it is with the WiFi and BT modules, what have you tried to fix the problem?

My problem was due to my wrong actions.
I've got root access to the Padfone.
I tried to install (Bluetooth SIM Access Profile) android-rsap
Then did the factory reset.
As a result of these actions, there was a change of some files that are associated with the work of the module bluetooth. Now when you try to enable Wi-fi or Bluetooth does not work.
In the directory / system / bin / some binary files (ls, ln, mkdir and etc.) Have a size of 0kb.
It seems to me that if build the kernel for padfone it should fix the problems.
I tried to restore the firmware after an android recovery e3 but recovery directory is empty.

Yes, I received OTA, now build number IML74K.CHT_Padfone-9.18.8.41_CHT_9.1.15-0.
Before update yet i had problem with camera (don't startup). But it problem was resolved, once i applied the latest updates OTA. But it did not resolve problem with bluetooth and wi-fi.
Out of curiosity, how big (size in MB) was the OTA?
I know little about these things, but I'm wondering if we could find the OTA file, extract the system.img, and manually flash it through cmd prompt using recovery?

Friends, I have a Irulu AL101 SuperPAD Tablet (I assume it's a generic chinese knock off), and I'm looking for a copy of the firmware, or something compatable that I can have as a backup before I start trying ROM's on it.
It's rooted.

I'm working on this issue as well.
I am looking for the compatibility pack for my device which is an Irulu AN101 and so far I am just working my way through this ROM thread right here to find the exact one. I don't know what is compatible as of yet so I am doing the hard research on this.

Yours looks like it has a different processor than mine so I am assuming we need different compatibility packs.
The only thing I am missing is the compatibility pack for assurance that I don't brick my device. I have been following the device here (so far) on this great youtube video which may be applicable to your sitch as well. hopefully it helps.

Yesterday I bricked my brand new P8000(B) - the new version with Marshmallow 'out of the box' (and the new SIM slots etc...)
I tryed to reflash several stock- and custom ROM's but they don't work because they are made for the 'old' version and there must be major differences in the hardware. At the moment the main problem is that the LCD driver is wrong and the display shows only lines and blurry spots
The Phone was running on ROM "P8000_6.0_20160516" - this ROM is not available at needrom or bbs.elephone.hk even Google doesnt know
It would help a lot if some could supply the ROM "P8000_6.0_20160516" - thank you!

I can do nothing else than blaming you, I wrote a reply yesterday to the eragon forum that there's someone else who flashed -not even a custom rom- just the root .zip that was for the "old" p8000 and got his phone bricked the same way as you (LCD driver problem). That's why I asked for a dump/backup. It could have been useful for you too (as in this case) and for the other guy too. But nevermind, I hope that you learn from this for later things... anyways, the other guy has contacted elephone on their facebook, so I hope you'll get the rom so you can use your device again. If someone can explain to me how to create the scatter file and the backup, I'll do it.
I have some experience with this stuff, but MTKDroidTools tells me unknown rom structure.

I do have the same problem (see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-p8000/general/rom-p8000-t3431571 ). I just wanted to root the phone because I liked to change the wifi modem file but i didn't even realize that I got another version of the phone at this point, so I bricked it.
I also contacted the support via facebook, but the support guy had to ask the engineers for help.
But maybe someone can help Emileh taking a dump of his phone, that would be really great!

you are sooo right but I have'n expected that two phones of the same type contain conplete different hardware respectively the firmware is not supporting both hardware versions. Even the manufacturer does not metion to check the hardware version before flashing...

I do have a second 'untouched' P8000(B) too - and I'm starving to copy the firmware from this working phone to the faulty phone if someone could explain how...

flo1k managed to get a stock ROM for this hardware version - the softwarepackage is named K06TE-A.A.vR14.E1.160707 and should be available at the elephone forum soon....

I bought it from amazon, Ezonetronics CT0009.
Shows android version as 5.1.1 but looks like it actually is 4.2.2 (JDQ39E)
Screen is 1024x600 and 1gb of ram.
One thing that really bothers me is that the buttons only light blue (even if I change the color on settings).
I would like to use a custom rom, that looks better and has better EQ.
But I don't know which MTCB/etc I can use to flash.

It is not a MTCB or MTCC or even a MTCD.
Should maybe go to Android Auto area in General section and ask..
DO NOT FLASH THESE ROMS, You will more than likely break the system
