I'm a complete noob at this but all I am trying to get at this point is my HTC Desire 626s.
I have unlocked the Bootloader for now but S-ON is still on. My phone is fine and at this point I'm trying to complete a TWRP recovery .img I got from this thread (that didn't tell anything about twrp recovery, only cyanogen recovery method update and download)
So could someone help me out with what I need to do?
Note:
-Bootloader is unlocked
-I'm a noob,so some terms won't work on me.
-adb reboot bootloader gives me a "ADB Server out of date. Killing" message.
-The reason I need S-OFF is because thats the error message I got "FAILED (remote: cannot flash this partition in s-on state)"
after trying to flash in bootloader mode.
And if anyone has time, why does everyone mention this "fastboot mode" when I only see three different modes,as you can "reboot" to them.
Download,Bootloader,and Recovery Mode.
Thank you for anyone who replies,I'm a complete noob that just needs help,I'm a bit worried I unlocked my bootloader for nothing.
This is a forum for the HTC Desire Bravo A8181.

Recovery is CWM 4.0.0.4
last flash is 6.01.605.05_VZW_OTA-full-odex.zip
Flashed system and boot from that file (extracted boot.img).
I tried this, but suspected it wouldn't work as I can't get past the white HTC logo http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1298990
Oddly I did end up seeing a BLACK screen HTC emblazoned across it. However after it finished I'm back to the white HTC screen hang.
HBOOT is still .98 so it seems to have had no appreciable effect.

It looks like it was unlocked using HTC Dev. You can't downgrade if you are unlocked already. Re-lock the phone (not sure how to do this, as I never did it this way), and then downgrade and S-Off. That is going to be your best option.

Ahh, need to relock to downgrade? I missed that bit somewhere. Thanks. will try that then run the downgrade path again.
No luck.. Bootloader then shows
***Relocked***
*Security Warning*
Will not proceed past bootloader. So the ADB commands error out with "Error: device not found". I can't get into CWM recovery with a locked bootloader to allow ADB commands to work.
perplexing..
In addition when unlocked, in CWM I cannot mount System. Is that normal?

You might need to try the Taco Root Method.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751796
You can 100% do it. I never did it this way, but there is many others on this site that have been successful with this method.
A little back and forth play with the locked/unlocked status finally got it all working. Had to Unlock, enter CWM, format system, data, cache, , pull a boot.img from a zip file, flash that, reboot back to Fastboot, into recovery, mount system, data, cache, run the ADB section of the commands, reboot again into fastboot, relock (reboots on its own).. stick a RUU onto the microSD and slide that in. fail.. np, try another, and another. Finally found one it took and updated. Unbricked, Wifi is alive.
Downgrade may be possible at this point but probably not really worth it.
I am stuck on the bootloader screen during the rooting process on the revolutionary exe. The cmd prompt says waiting for fastboot but wont go any further. Any Immediate help is Awesome!
Any help at all would be appreciated
Well, we all need some more info. Are you still htcdev unlocked. Can't help you with such limited info. Sorry.
FYI revolutionary doesn't root your device, it just gives you s-off. You need to flash a zip via recovery to root.
I bought this phone.
HTC One X
I have a bit of knowledge when it comes to rooting phones but i ran into this problem here.
It seems that the phone has no ROM, no Recovery ( I try Booting into Recovery and it Reboots back into Bootloader) and is Relocked (Fastboot ac).

How do i unlock bootloader and be able to go back to fastboot usb?
So it boots to the BootLoader Screen, this is a good thing, so its not 'dead' ... yet
Unless your gonna send it in for repair, First thing I would try is unlocking it ... your in for a ride
go to http://www.htcdev.com/ create an account, and follow the steps for unlocking the device
The fact that you can get into the boot loader means you should be able to generate your bin code, to unlock the thing
If you do manage to get it unlocked, I would follow the instructions in this forum for flashing a custom rom onto the thing
you start by unlocking, rooting, then CWM Recovery
Once you have that done, flash a custom rom, such as IceColdJelly which is what I use
Hopefully this works for you, Its already busted, no harm in trying
Good luck to you!

I alredy did this and it says " waiting for device"
Don't flash anything from this forum. This forum is only for the international One X (endeavor). You have an Evita.

Hi,
I have flashed the hboot-eng.mg in an attempt to get s-off onto my htc desire hd, and now it wont boot at all, no signs of life. The battery has died though, and now if i plug it in to my windows computer I can use ADB, but I cannot get into fastboot or hboot. I need help getting back to stock hboot. Before getting bricked, it was s-on, unlocked bootloader, running cyangenmod 12 with twrp 2.8.7.0. Any help would be much appreciated
PS I am new to XDA forums, this is my frist post
If you still have access to adb shell you could try adb command to get you to fastboot or RUU mode.
So practically you could flash a normal updated hboot and get full s-off through your rom by unlocking your bootloader with htc_devs way.
I have answered before how to flash a 2.00.0029 hboot and unlock your device here.
You can also chexk here and here how to S-OFF your device after hboot unlock.
Hi,
So I tried flashing a TWRP v2.7.0.2 to a HTC One M8s which on command line said was successful but when opening recovery the phone just powers off and does not load any recovery.
I then, stupidly relocked the bootloader (fastboot oem lock) and now have a bootloader saying ***RELOCKED***
I have tried a new unlockcode bin file but it wont matter as the recovery will not load when i select unlock bootloader.
Is there any other way to unlock the bootloader without having the recovery to run?
Please help!!!
Hi,
I had a similiar problem and used 'Squabbi's HTC One M8 Toolkit 2 2.5.0' to Re-flash TWRP twrp-3.2.3-0-m8.
Regards
Rob
I'm also having a similar issue when flashing twrp image successfully (bootloader unlocked) recovery loads the HTC white screen until the battery drains! I'm using Linux mint terminal. Could you point me towards squabbis toolkit to reflash? Tia
