Well, i'm still alive!
Yes I did promise to share the ROMs I had developed for this device and I've fulfilled that. I never saw this post, should have replied earlier.
When the time is right, I shall create a separate thread here in xda to maintain the device. For now, just be updated on dwapking.mywapblog.com
Several ROMS have been ported and shared already.

The Motoblur UI has taken a lot of flak for being slow, cumbersome and “downright useless” as a friend of mine succinctly put to me some time ago. It seems that things have changed for the better, at least with the Android 4.0 version of the overlay from Moto, and if you want proof of that claim, you can try now to know for yourself.
Pulled from a Droid RAZR, the launcher is now ready to be installed on any non-Motorola device, with a caveat that you should be running ICS. It has already been said to work on the HTC Sensation and other devices and there is also a choice of two launchers with different homescreen styles, so take your pick.
Head to the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577123 thread to grab the APKs and to get some specific instructions on how to get the UI on to your Android device.

When will people learn? There is no best ROM. Go and try them out yourself, there is no best for everybody. Download one, give it a try, if you like it, keep it, if you don't, take another one. We can't tell you, which one is the best.
Besides, there have been many topics about that. Use search tool, you will see all such topics are locked for a reason. And so will this one.
This kind of questions keep coming out on Q&A. We need to add a sticky about this best rom issue.
Need mod to close thread.

Pic is posted on g+ by Roman Birg, maybe asking him could help?
For T mobile
If you look carefully, the baseband is unknown. What your seeing is the first actual boot up with cyanogen source but I'm willing to bet both the device tree and kernel need further development for anything to actually function. The guy mentioned from the original g+ post this came from is Connor baker. He has his source pushed to github if you're really feeling froggish you can run it. https://github.com/ConnorBaker/android_device_lge_d851?files=1

Actually the pic was posted buy Tom Marshall https://plus.google.com/109746709508989257077/posts/2gXUKGeeibt. I was speaking with Roman yesterday, he's not actually working on the g3 he just reposted a fellow developers post so i wouldn't hound him about it.

My post in the uk forum I would suggest everyone makes a post of complaint in their own country's forum
USA
The search of the US forum turned up a iPhone hows that for a kick in the teeth.
Germany
I would of preferred a text message
The dump is on them to be honest. I don't remember the last time I was on stock with this phone. With the developer @ggow, he's made this phone still usable and secure by his ongoing development of the fire phone. He deserves a lot of praise for what he's done with this device.

100% agree that without ggow  our device would of been dead long long ago. Such a shame the phone could not of been taken to the next level by Amazon simply giving us or I should say ggow a bootloader unlock.
The Sony Z1 compact which has just about the same spec as the Fire phone has N 7.1 so there is plenty of life left in this old dog yet if we could get it unlocked.
