how to change tf3d highligt color?!

hi there i searched the forum for about a day and realy can't find my answer
can any one plz tell me how can i change the tf3d (touch hd version!) highligt color? (with out changing the original theme indid !)
tanx alot
and for changin the wallpaper in all tabs. can any one make an app to do this in one simple step? or we have to do all that things one by one every time we want to chang the wallpapers?!

There is no 'easy' answer to that question.
For some highlight elements of Windows Mobile (like the phone dialer or call history, and other system screens) the highlight colour is determined by .tsk files... and registry entries.
Go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Color and change the values to whatever colour you want. This effects Windows Mobile system colours (including highlights).
You might also need to look at HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today and change the colour values for whatever task file you selected to use. (HTC Black.tsk, for example).
The green highlight you see in TF3D is controlled by numerous _manila files.
The clock highlight on the Home Page, for example, is made up of 3 _manila files (1 left edge, 1 right edge, 1 middle tiled image). Another 3 _manila files are used for the call history and calendar highlight. Another 3 _manila files control the higlight on other tabs like Settings, or All Program etc.
The keyboard menu highlight, and the Communication Page highlight are all controlled by simple .png images (as these are accessed outside of TF3D.)
So to change the colour of ALL of the highlights on your phone... you have to change many things. Or install a complete theme made by somebody else (and hope they changed ALL of the images... which isn't always the case).

If you search the forum, you'll probably find 1 or 2 programs that will let you change the wallpaper with a few clicks... but that function is usually built into a program that does many other things too... and you did say that you didn't really want the theme of your phone changed!
However... editing the _manila file isn't that complicated anyway.... you create your image, import it into the manila file, copy that file to your phone... done!
Using a program (as you asked)... you would create your image, copy it to your phone, launch an app on your phone, click change picture, select your image... done.
Those 2 scenarios aren't that different or really any quicker! The only real advantage to using a program... is that you could change the background image while away from your computer. However if you want to keep 20 different wallpapers on your phone that you can select between... simply import those 20 images into 20 of the same _manila file and store them on your phone like "sports_car_4a087e41_manila" & "hot_babe_4a087e41_manila"... then when you want to change your wallpaper to one of them... simply rename whichever file to "4a087e41_manila" and copy it your your Windows directory... done!

This only changed the Lock Screen Background for me, but didn't change the Start Menu background.
Any additional adjustments needed ?

Goto Setting -> Today
Check "Use this picture as the background" at the bottom
Click Browse, and select picture file that u want..

Been wondering if anyone been having this issue: on my start menu background, the lettering of the icon is black and no matter what picture I set (either stock or personal) the lettering remains black, making it quite difficult to know what each icon is. sometimes when i slide the keypad out in landscape it changes to white lettering for a short time and straightaway changes to black again. I use the Vodafone 6.5 Stock Rom.
by the way Thanks for this tip! worked for me! can change start menu and lock backgrounds but black lettering is really doing my head in.. any help greatly appreciated.

Can I set a 'no-background'? I like it plain black, without any back ground.
Is there a tweak that I can apply to the 'start menu'?

stwater_480_800.jpg
Do the same with a WVGA Landscape image and save it as:
stwater_800_480.jpg
Copy these two files to your device with ActiveSync/WMDC.
Copy these two files into the \Windows directory on your device using a powerful file manager such as Total Commander, overwriting if prompted to do so.
Soft Reset your device.
If you want a blank background (I assume you mean black) then you need to use a clean black image. MS Paint can be used to produce such images.

I was thinking of something like:
"In HKCU/Software/HTC/manilla/clear the value of
1: Cachedbackgroundpath
2: DefaultHomeBackgroundPath
3: HomeBackgroundPath"
However, that's for the background in HTC Sense. It does not clear the background for the 'start menu'.
Can you help with the registry tweak for the 'start menu'?

Hey quick question. I used to do alot of graphics on motorolas and other non smartphones and file size was crucial. so minimizing file size helped with speed big time. With these processors is ther any gain to reducing file size.
To get my black background I just minimized the megapixels of my camera and took a image in the dark/while covering the camera lens. instant black image.
Would a transparent background image be more efficient?

My lock screen, today screen(sense disable) and start menu background are the same. How can I have different pic for all three? I know how to select pic for today screen but not the other two....

well for instance i wanna change the keyboard to either htc or iphone.... this one is too crammy like congested.... wanna have a spacious potrait keyboard......... and with universal setting like if i wanna activate predective text it should apply everywhere... not just in messages........ and it should always stay on..........

6. Unlimited SMS storage (why you want to restrict us to 1300 on a SMARTPHONE )
7. Sending Group SMS to any number of people (can be very useful for certain type of
businesses. Did u think about it Sammy ?)
8. Auto-hide of Notification bar and Lower bar after certain amount of time or on Tap.
9. Different Wallpapers on every home screen.
10. Better animations.
11. Smaller icons. 4x5 grid with an option to change to suit consumers' taste.
12. Notification Drop down to have buttons for APN, Brightnesss.
13. In-built Backup-Restore app for all phone data. User should be able to select to what he
wants to backup or restore.
14. Highly efficient GPS. (I would not like to buy a BMW whose tires I have to fix. I have
paid for it, btw.)
15. Better Facebook(with chat), Twitter and IM app atleast Gtalk. Current one plainly sucks
16. Various bugs in Messaging to be fixed.

There is also an option to focus on video recording "RecordFocusMode" from "0" to "2" default "0". Try setting but do backup before (right click and copy).

Doesn't work mate, I tried copying your file and then doing a soft rest and it didn't work. I also tried playing with options like RecordFocusMode and IntelligentAuto but still the same...
It would be very AWESOME if we get continous autofocus on Wave!

Hey how you copy a file because the file copied to the phone is only by drag and drop. If you are able to copy my files when you start the camera will see the icon "sA" without restarting the phone. Otherwise the effect of the settings I have attached the file with changed sound of shooting

Yes I copied by drag and drop and I've seen your "sA" icon at the beginning but the continous autofocus is nowhere to be seen...

Is there anyway to save camera shoot images in uncompressed format so that the quality of captured images will be maximum?

I would like to have a "fast-access" GPS button - next to the mute button ("green" menu). I'm really sure that this function will be very popular!

I would like to have more keyboard languages (with T9 or whatever it's called on the Wave).
I have seen a friend of mine with a Wave from Vodafone, and he has 30+ langage/keyboard optinons. On my wave (normal German FW) I have about 10. No Cyrillic characters, no Chinese, no Arabian...
How am I supposed to use the full functionality of such a wonderful phone if i can't write an email to a friend /business associate in Russia for example.
I could grump about it a few more pages, but the essence should already be clear
P.S. AFAIK the languages are stored in the CSC flash file, so it's not so easy to "just add" some in, but I hope someone from samsung might also see this and think about it.

[customize] your HTC Hub Live Tile

HI. First off all i have to tell you that my english is terrible. Sorry for that.
I have made the decision to edit my HTC Hub Live Tile, because i did'nt like the HTC Logo at the Tile and more the 4 little app-icons.
I have found the registry entry "hkey_local_machine/software/htc/htc_hub/token".
There are be 4 values named feature 1,2,3,4. I have replaced any .png value with "NO_SUCH_FILE" and pressed "OK". But every time i did this, the Value changed back to his original state. Can someone tell me whats my mistake?
The next thing is to erase the HTC Logo from all the 44 pngs. I think it should be not really a problem for someone with the know how. I have tried it and it looks... let us say dilettantish.
So if someone could help me please... and sorry again for my broken english.

It's not a xap. It's only a transparent png. I wasn't able to modify the regiytry because the htc hub app seems to reset the registry everytime the app refresh itselfs.
Thats why i searched the 4 Tokens and overwrote them with the transparent pngs.

Did you get the homescreen backround worked? i have tried 100 registryentries but i still wont get it.

Note: The Number Images in that directory are the Weather Temperature in the Live Tile.
EDIT: Oh no, we need a root access to do this. The files must be hidden or you just can't copy them out to edit yet. From what I've been told, the UI is supposed to be XMl based like CHome's CPR's in WM 6.5, but can't find the files anywhere.

As for the HTC, someone posted this already.

You need Advanced Configuration Tool v 1.2.0.0 by Schaps to change icons. You can't change icons for tiles with live tile content as that'd make you loose Live Tile functionality, at least for now. So Schaps disabled those hubs/apps.

You are great. Why did you open a thread especially about customize your WP7? You have so many threads around here. It could be very usefull.

Most of my work was for WM, I did a lot of work in CHome/Titanium. I was the one who found the GUID for custom plugins, which paved the way to all those plugins like ATContacts, Showaco's Weather Panel, etc, etc. Right now, I have only found 3 hacks/customizations. Maybe once I have more, Ill link it all. For now, people can just look at my profile to find my threads.

I 'm now testing the live update as soon as I get results, I will give you feedbacks + some extra files.
Note that the 4 files replaced in isolated store folder ain't enough, there are few files that need to be replaced also.
I only used the Windows Mobile device manager software with its file Explorer tab( simple copy & paste)

Confirmed working with LIVE TILE
It's a simple copy paste procedure used only through "Windows Phone device center"
Very Simple but do it carefully to avoid deleting extra files.
Use the "read me.txt" file in the attachment to help in modification.
you MUST Unpin the HTC hub Tile from Homescreen before modification.

Weather dependent bitmaps

I'm new to zooper and have been customising a home screen for a couple of days. One thing I wanted to do was to display a different image for each weather condition (yahoo weather).
I figured out that I can do this by having multiple bitmaps overlaid on each other, one for each weather condition, with the alpha value set to 0 if the relevant weather condition isn't detected.
With not knowing too much about zooper just yet it struck me that this might be a bit of a heavy handed approach, with potentially up to 48 bitmaps in the widget (according to the yahoo weather condition codes XML I found) each with their own advanced parameters being monitored.
So I suppose my question is, am I going about this the right way and will it be a huge drain on resources?

After reading this thread it seems I was right to think it felt heavy handed.
From what I've read, the right way to go about this is to have one bitmap layer with advanced parameters that display each picture only if the specific weather conditions are true.
Example:

You could create an iconset instead, or grab an iconset from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2084070 and replace the images with yours.

You could create an iconset instead, or grab an iconset from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2084070 and replace the images with yours.

Thanks for that, I'll look into it. Is there any advantage to going the icon route? And does it matter that my images are jpg photos (eg. a cloudy sky rather than a cloud clip art)?

An iconset is a lot easier to manage (use in different widgets, sharing etc) as it's just 1 zip file. And I believe jpg will work as long as you edit the image extensions in the iconset xml file.
