The stock browser on my desktop the blue world widget, it has started asking me to update it and directs me to an google chrome download page, but it downloads a separate chrome browser it does not integrate the updated files with the stock browser so it still asks me to update it, what kind of crap is this.
I don't want to use an separate chrome browser, the stock browser is chrome supposedly and is supposed to work with the Samsung RGB sensor to keep the whites white.
Is any other kitkat user or do lollipop users get this message as well.

I upgraded to frosty jellybean, which I think is using the browser from the Galaxy Note 2.
In the updated browser, hovering over image which is also a link, opening the link a new window is no longer an option. Instead the submenu has the options to save image or set it as a wallpaper.
So I'm wondering if someone could upload the old browser apk. Or If someone knows of a fix to get the old submenu back (since the new browser is more fluid and smooth).
That or if I could remove the integrated video player in chrome, which sucks donkey balls, and replace it with the external samsung video player.
Hi guys, right now when I click the full screen button on my Pop-Up Browser, it always opens up Chrome instead of stock Samsung Browser. I cleared defaults for Chrome, Stock Browser, Pop-Up Browser and even tried uninstalling and re installing Chrome but to no avail. Any dea which defaults I need to clear?
Thanks.

Just try and uninstall the Crome that is what I have done. Run it a little while without installing Chrome and by default it will revert back to your default brower. After running it that way for a little while than install Chrome agian but me personally I have got rid of it because it uses mad data compared to the stock browers I have notice.
Remember If I have helped you in anyway to hit the Thanks Button.:good:

The reason why I use chrome is that it syncs all my bookmarks and data with my desktops. Other than that, I'd stick with the default.
To the OP, uninstall chrome and run the a website in the popup browser (still with no chrome) and then load it full screen. It opens with the default browser, right?
Now install Chrome, and try the same process again.
What happened this time?
Regards
Thanks for the answer fellas. That is really weird how you described that cornbread. Because when I uninstalled Chrome, the pop up will obviously use the stock browser. But when I install Chrome again even without setting any defaults, the pop-up browser will still full screen to chrome. I know there is a cultprit default behind this but we just can't seem to find it yet. Anyone?
On a similar subject, has anyone figured out how to set the default browser manually? As the OP browser stated, popup browser either defaults to Chrome or the Samsung browser when you maximize. I would love if it would open Boat Browser instead, but even if I set Boat to default, popup still only opens Chrome or the Android/Samsung browser. Any ideas?

i have chrome installed, and when i maximize the pop up browser, it opens my stock browser. i would suggest trying this and see what happens.
The stock browser is not applying my Accessibility settings when it first loads a page. I have the font to be augmented to 145% but each time I open a web page it's like I didn't set the option at all. Once in the page I go to the accesibility settings again and disable/enable (or viceversa) anything in it (like the 'force zoom' option, or the 'text booster') and when I exit the settings (without ever reloading the page) the settings are finally applied. It's like the browser finally reads the settings and applies them.
Before you guys recommend a "better" browser I know there are many other browsers out there including chrome but I prefer this one and I want to know if anyone has had this happen and managed to fix it or anything.
Thanks!
I tried every browser and none was as good as "browser". Turns out that someone uploaded an AOSP version of browser to the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.android.browser it's even better than the stock browser on the mini since this one is closer to the one I used to use on my S3 with all the cool nifty features (full screen mode, night mode, etc). It's really cool and it doesn't have the bugs ailing the stock browser.
New G3 with strange problem - the built-in browser will not open a new tab. For example, if I am in Google News and click on an article to view the page it won't open.
And no issue doing this with Chrome - only in stock browser.
Any help will be appreciated
Don't use stock browser? Android equivalent of internet explorer
Just curious if anyone uses the multitasking/multi window option, especially now in OneUI 4.1.1 / a12L. If so, which apps do you use together?
I must admit, excited as I was to use this when I first got the phone (and the updated version with the taskbar in the latest update) I keep forgetting to use it.
Most frequently I use email w/ contacts, email w/ calendar. In both cases I am visually transferring data or cutting and pasting. Sometimes it's a web page with contacts or calendar.
I use it occasionally, more often using the pop-up feature for the calculator and sometimes other apps like Chrome or Notes, but I've been using pop-up for years. The most recent time I used the multi-screen was two fold: Samsung Browser and Notes to make a list of good berm plants, bushes, and trees from a Web site that lists them after looking up what they each look like; and Samsung Browser, a photo app, and a share screen for saving some idea pics off the Pinterest site (not app) which you can only do by dragging the pic to the multi-screen and open it in a photo app to save it from there.
