I found instructions to root the A390 here.
Step 1: Download and unzip the three attached files.
Step 2: To install the drivers for the computer, had to reboot the computer (Win8 64x) and disable driver signing. Then turn off the phone, connect to the computer, and run the InstallDriver.exe. After the driver installation is complete, disconnect the phone. The phone only makes the pre-loader interface available for a couple seconds when the USB cable is first plugged into the computer.
Step 3: Open the folder with the flash tool, and run Flash_tool.exe. Click the scatter-loading button and select "MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt" from the recovery folder you downloaded. The recovery check box should automatically be populated with the TWRP.img file.
Step 4: Click download button and select "yes" to ignore the dialogue box. The flash software will now wait till it sees the MT6577 interface from the phone. With the phone off. Plug the USB cable into the phone and then into the computer. The flashing software will automatically load the recovery image to the phone. The flash-tool will show the power status bar red to yellow then wait for the message "OK" green is successful, then disconnect the phone, the TWRP recovery has been flashed. If the flash does not detect the phone when you plug it in, check your driver installation from step 2.
Step 5: Access recovery mode by pressing volume up + home + power key until the phone vibrates or it boots into recovery mode, then let go. This time open Team Win Recovery. You now have TW recovery and you can now root your device. (Make android backup first before rooting you phone)
Rooting Lenovo Ideaphone A390
After boot in recovery it will ask you to install superSU just drag/swipe to install. After you reboot the phone, you will have to have internet access to download the GUI. You can download the GUI from the play store, or download a zip which you can flash from recovery.
You are now rooted!
Good Luck

Voice Calls
hello! Recently, I bought a Lenovo A390 and i think that it has a problem with the voice calls. During the voice call, the person who i´m talking doesn´t hear me no more and end the call. Just can not send the recovery file to my Lenovo A390 using SP Flashtool
Hello,
I have installed the correct drivers because I did manage to flash my ZTE v889s phone and send a recovery.file to it.
But with my Lenovo A390 I have tried over a week and nothing will work. After SP Flashtool finds the phone, it gives an error message after 4 seconds, saying:
BROM_ERROR: S_FT_NEED_DOWNLOAD_ALL_FAIL (4050)
I am sure this must be some kind of locking mechanics on the phone, and not a problem with the drivers, since they are working with other Android devices. Do you know what could be the problem?
The phone is suposed to be rooted, I am using SuperSU, that I installed using the USB cable on the device.
All your good advice is highly appreciated!
Thanks!

My Lenovo A390 has problems with its ANDROID CORE AND ALL THE ANDROID COMPONENTS!!!!
Hi all. I got a rooted Lenovo A390 and I downloaded ROM Toolbox LITE. I used build.prop editor. I accidentally edited the vm growth heapsize from 16 to 10. then after rebooting the phone, everything didn't work anymore. The android phone, android core, google services, gapps, and everything else stopped working and the notification bar dissapeared and nothing in the phone will open. Does somebody know how to reverse it without using the apps in the phone since nothing would open?
ultimate bootloop
i think i got a dead end, just trying (desperately) to fix my phone,
the situation is :
usb debugging is off
stucks at boot
the recover is not functional (just an android logo and red exclamation point
can't install the drivers
how can i fix this? or is it really dead?
thank to those who will help

Hey there,
I press volume up + insert the USB, when the LG screen appears I let go of the volume button and leave it. After roughly 1 minute it says Download Mode however it only stays in this mode for roughly 20 seconds and then it goes into Fastboot mode saying "reset" and "changed port". I got the correct ROM for my IMEI and LGFlashTool however I think the main problem could be the LG USB drivers. When I try install the official drivers the installer says success however windows says not successful.
Image 1 - i.imgur.com/hPkZbLx.png
Image 2 - i.imgur.com/nxdYm39.png
I have tried uninstalling all LG drivers/software, restarting etc.
I am fairly sure I can flash if I can just figure out how to successfully install the drivers or connect the phone to the PC. Anybody have any ideas? I can use linux or try any suggestions/alternative software.
Kind regards,
Desperate G3 owner
Just an update that I was able to manually apply the LGE PORT/COM driver in device manager however the PC only recognises the device when it is in Fastboot Mode. When it starts in Download Mode as stated above, nothing happens, but after ~20 seconds it will automatically switch to Fastboot Mode and then the PC will detect the phone and says Fastboot Commands.
I have tried using adb.exe devices and fastboot.exe devices in cmd but nothing shows up, any ideas?
<<.>>Asus Zenphone 2 z008 stuck after hard reset cannot open!>> I am out of options
Dear all kind developers ,
I went to the recovery mode of my asus zenpone 2 and wipe of the data from it.
After I clicked data wipe it did not continued , it was stuck for like 20 minutes and I restarted the phone .
After that every time I try to open it or go to recovery I cannot open the phone. It only shows an android logo and an error.
I can go to the boot loader menu .
I have already searched the whole internet and found I solution for it , which I have to
* Download intel driver, and some abd files
* Enable Usb debugging and switch of the phone
* Go to boot loader and switch volume up until it shows fastboot
* Connect the phone via usb and open the adb files in cmd
* Type fast boot remove cache in the cmd
And it says that the phone will be alright after the process !
BUT, I DID NOT KEEP THE USB DEBUGGING TOOL ON ALL THIS TIME !
Can anybody help me with a solution to this ! Please
When you have that error logo, press your volume button and then power button and release it immediately. I think thats how you get into recovery mode/bootloader menu. If this doesn't work, try its vice versa because its been a long time since I've gone ito recovery mode/bootloader menu.

When you get to the Android with "ERROR" underneath, hold power and press volume up. It should go to recovery. Try clearing cache again from recovery.
If that doesn't work, go and get the latest version of the rom from the ASUS site, put it on a FaAT32 formatted sd card (rename to MOFD_SUPDATE) and put in phone. Go to recovery and flash rom from sd card.
Otherwise use fastboot and download an image, pre-rooted images available in Original Android Developement, thankyou Shakalaka, and flash from fastboot with command "fastboot flash system system.img" (make sure you put the system.img file in the same directory so you don't have to go hunting).
Solution found !
I've found a solution for this problem
All you need to find is a same device which is normal or BUY a new one ! OR BEG,Borrow, or steal from a friend
Find a asus zenfone 2 from a friend and enable usb debugging
Download intel driver
Just google it
Download Abd driver installer from the link bellow
Just google it
Just enable the usb debugging mode from the phone which you found
Open the adb driver intaller and fetch the abd driver directly from the installer for your asus phone
After that, download the following adb interface
Google it like " Abd interface for asus fastboot"
Then, extract the file , hold shift and right click the folder you will see a option in cmd option
Click that and a cmd window will be opened
Turn off your phone
Hold volume up and power button
After the phone vibrates realease from power button and keep holding volume up button
Boot loader will open and press volume up until you see "continue in fastboot mode"
Keep it the mode and connect your device to pc
It will directly intstall usb driver and adb driver after that
Just go back to your pc and type "fastboot format cache" and the process will continue
You will know when the process is over from the cmd in your pc
After that reboot your phone and you will still see the error
Click power and volume up button and the recovery mode will apear
Just wipe your data and every thing is going to be ALRIGHT
I have a phone Lenovo Vibe shot z90a40 . Few days ago I have successfully flashed firmware with root facilities with Miflash . Phone was working fine . Hello, it seems I really am facing the same problem here.
I tried all those steps above, and then I even tried to wipe and formal users data, even factory reset, but then, when I boot the phone, it is stuck on the booting screen saying Initializing. I wish I could give you all screenshot for this.
So, would anyone help us?
Hello
I m facing the same problem... initializing. http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/lenovo-vibe-z90-7-brick-stucking-t3328123
3 night that I m investigating this... No luck...
Hello! This happened to me just yesterday and I managed to solve it by following these steps:
- Download an official rom update (in a QSB file) - try googling Lenovo Z90-7 Vibe Shot - QSB.
- Create sdfuse folder on the sdcard (using computer) and copying qsb file there.
- Insert sdcard into phone
- Enter factory menu by powering off and then turning it on using POWER BUTTON + VOLUME DOWN
- There's an "SD Update" option, use it.
After that, my phone booted successfully!
Hooray. BUT: the first problem ("1. When I press/hold Volume + button and plug in usb cable , the phone vibarte 2 times . ") persisted
So, still haven't found a way to use miflash again
If anyone finds a way to solve this one, I will buy him a beer. Or a cat.

If links are allowed here, you will find both rom and info here:
http://www.needrom.com/download/lenovo-z90-7-vibe-shot/
I tried the qsb files but my phone simply ignore them on the external sd , i saw some ppl that put them on the internal sd but i ve no access to the drive.

Hi,
here is my solution if can help.
I had on my vibe shot s208 rooted ROW. It stacked after SU update in boot loop.
1. I did wipe data without formatting from recovery mode (Vol+ and Vol- and Power button. When Logo is on release power button and hold Vol+ and Vol - until you are in recovery mode). STILL boot loop.
2. I did wipe data with formatting from the same menu. - STILL boot loop.
3. I did factory reset from recovery menu (Vol - and Power after logo is on release Power and hold Vol - until you get recovery mode) - STILL boot loop.
Then I did next:
1. I downloaded and installed QFIL (QPST_2.7.422) - I am not allowed to post links yet.
2. I have connected OTG adapter to phone. Phone was off.
3. then connected OTG to PC. It was some HDD activities but I did not hear any sound.
4. press Vol- for as long as something is going on - HDD activities. Then I think came up sound too - but not sure.
5. I had installed Qualcomm USB drivers from before I suppose.
6. Because I couldn't see my device as ...908 I disconnected and connected again usb cable... then I got my device as ...908 in device manager, but it was written "RECONNECTED" or similar in front of word "QUALCOM".
7. Then just follow instructions for QFIL. and ROM will be installed.
First I have installed INTERNATIONAL no root ROM. But because I needed phone to be rooted in order to use data recovery software I flashed again with s240 ROOTED. When I flashed second time I did not use OTG, just direct usb cable connection to PC, and my phone was again recognized after I reconnected usb cable and in device manger was "RECONNECTED" in front of word "QUALCOM".
Hello and thanks!
Could you please provide more details regarding last step - quoted below?
Did you use the same software for flashing? What state was the phone in? How did you get it there?

Hi.Before few days i had to flash an official rom on my vibe shot (s208) and after I was requested for OTA update the mobile stopped working.Trying to turn it on using recovery mode doesn't work.I tried several tricks but still nothing. The recovery mode, though, seems to work. But when I try to run a zipped rom on the external sd fails.I tried MiFlash too. When flashing begins it stops with the following notification:faulted function(0x80070001:WriteFile position 0x00000004000000,size 1048576).I also tried QFIL.I get this notification:Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9006(COM 5).I am desperate.I find no way to fix my mobile.pls help!
How To fix This Issue
I had a similar problem 2 days ago. I tried all methods but was unsuccessful. My computer couldn't detect my port as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 but rather Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostic 9008 .
I found a way to fix that driver issue and i was able to flash my phone. And now My lenovo vibe shot is back to life.
I am not allowed to post links yet but i have provided the name of the sites
I hope this works for you
First Make sure your phone is turned off. U can do that by booting to recovery mode and sellect shutdown
Step 0
Download the right firmware for your device. I use other ones they didnt work.
This one worked perfectly for my device firmware version S118: Z90a40_USR_S118_1505272046_Q2020131.4_ROW_qpst.7z
Find it at boycracked forum or xda-developers forum
Step 1
Disable driver signature enforcement
Find the steps here
Step 2
Install the qdLoader HS-USB Driver
Find the steps at androidbrick
at this point your computer cant still recognise the device as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008. You have to do the next step
Step 3
Manually Install VCOM Drivers on your Computer. This will enable your computer to detect your device as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008
Find the steps at hovatek forum
Step 4
Head to this site and use the second method to flash your phone
( SECOND METHODS ) Installing the firmware using QPST/QFIL
Find the steps here

How I fixed this
I fixed it installing a update.zip via recovery (vol + plus vol - plus power) I found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/andr...posed-t3409989
This not fixed the phone , but allowed me to unlock bootloader entering in fastboot mode (vol + plus vol - plus plug usb) using this
http://lenovo-forums.ru/topic/18149-...B0-bootloader/
Then I was allowed to install TWRP as explained here
http://lenovo-forums.ru/topic/18150-...-by-sevenmaxs/
Then I was able to go to TWRP terminal and type
reboot edl
Phone rebooted into downloader mode and I was able to install this rom with QFIL
http://www.needrom.com/download/leno...encn-unlocked/
and I restored NVRAM with a qcn file I found in Ebay after putting the phone in diagnostics mode. Then I changed imeis, meid and esn to the original ones I found in the box. Phone fixed.
Just note that this file was for a Z90-7 rom and it will not work with a Z40a20 rom.
Hope this helps someone.

miflash and qfil cannot help at this state.
go into twrp, and restore backup.

i cannot flash any other rom too with twrp.
i have a galaxy a50 (SM-A505FM, spain) and the device dont turn on, when connect to pc makes two beeps and display remains black. I tried odin to flash stock firmware, trying to put device on download mode with keys. Odin shows added, and port com4. I put pit file ant ap bl etc. files. When I click start, says setup connection, and the shows sometimes cant open com port ,and several times write failed. Display never starts. The drivers install successfully, and when connect mobile to pc device manager shows samsung mobile device, working correctly.
Can you help me please?

Go to recovery and format data then reboot to download mode through it and flash first only BL file, exit from Odin, disconnect device and now power off device and reboot again to recovery and through the options to reboot menu go again to download mode and flash all the rest of files through Odin. Don´t choose other additional option through Odin, just flash normally.
