LG G3 TouchScreen not responsive after "update touchscreen version" on hidden menu
Hello,
I had some touchscreen problems with my LG G3 (unbranded). some times the screen was a bit unresponsive, some ghost touches etc, but nothing very serious. Searching XDA developers, I found this solution, and I tried it out.
I open the hidden menu, pressed the update firmware button, and the touch screen became unresponsive.
I waited way more than 10 seconds, like 3 minutes or so. Then I rebooted the device, but the screen is still unresponsive.
I can't unlock my mobile at all.
Any solutions?
Could this be fixed by flashing a file throught recovery, or any pc software?
Please help!
Thanks

I have same problem.. My LG G3 F400 now die, the touchscreen not responsive, after click update firmware button at hidden menu.
Even I had to update the os to repetitive still remains not fix the touchscreen...
Maybe someone can help?

Faulty lock/unlock/power button?

Hi,
Just bought an Optimus G today and noticed that the lock/unlock/power button is very sensitive, to the point that I accidentally turned off the phone, when putting it in the inside pocket of my jacket. Previously I had a SGS 3 and the lock/unlock button had more of a tactile feel to it and it was not easily or accidentally pressed.
Has anyone here experienced this? Wondering if I should exchange for another one?
It'd check into another one personally... haven't had that issue yet on my end

I'm the owner of E975.
Have a problem with lock/unlock button.
Sometimes I cannot wake up or lock the phone, must to press the button two or three times.
The phone was in service for changing the digitizer.
I've made an update on 4.4.2 KK shortly before.
Can be this software issue?
Have someone same experience what it can cause?

Are you running stock KK? This seems to be a known issue on some stock-based ROMs like VDT, and I believe Sling, too. I recall reading comments from other people about this. I have this issue sometimes on VDT v23 (need to press the button twice), but just got used to it. Might be a general problem of LG KK stock, I dunno... But definitely a software issue. Didn't happen on JB.

Yes, I'm using stock KK.
I don't remember it do it before I send it to service, so I was thinking service do something bad when changing the digitizer, but possibly it could do it even before service.
It will be great if someone with stock KK can answer, if he has the same issue .
Yes, this is an issue with stock Kitkat, I have that issue too. It is annoying, but you'll get used to it or something like that. Some times I end up pressing like 6 to 8 times to just turn on the screen, it's so annoying..

Wow... That never happens on my phone, sometimes I have to press it the second time, that's it. But thanks for confirming, I wasn't sure if it was the stock KK problem...

Don't you know if LG is planning some issue upgrade on Optimus G?

No idea about F180L, but I can tell you that I successfully flashed it on my F180S. However, I can't remember what modifications I did to the install package and/or the script in the last V23 version... With all previous versions of Sling and VDT, I always tweaked the package to only install things that I need, and get rid of everything else that I don't want to change (like modem, recovery and BL); I never installed the whole thing with the patch and everything. I can take a look at the files on my home PC tonight and let you know.
BTW, this seems to be offtopic in this thread...

WildfireBuzz reacting weird

The phone reacts on its own from time to time. When you're in a menu it opens sub menus and starts to turn things on and off in a really fast way. I don't know what to do. It just happens sometimes but then its really annoying. I had this problem with the latest HTC GB and now with the latest official CM 7.2. So I don't think it's a software problem but hardware problem? It just startet to do that one day. I already cleaned the mouse button with an air-spray but it didn't help. Or maybe its a touchdisplay problem?
Any suggestions? Did anyone ever had something like that?

digitizer problem i think. its the touch section above the LCD which is responsible for detecting touch. its very cheap to get replaced. but i am not sure.

Phantom touches are a digitizer issue usually. There should be a setting in cm7 to show on screen touches. If its showing you touches and your not pushing then replacing the digitizer is your best bet

[Q] Soft keys issue- anyone elses soft keys just stoppped working

Hello everyone. I am here seeking help for my Optimus G Pro. My soft keys are not working, they just stopped working today in the afternoon. It all started when i tried to download the leaked vitnamese kitkat version for my e980. At that moment i was running G2 v5.5. The download was taking forever it had onlyva speed of 100Kb but it wasn't constant. So imagine i kept checking the progress every 10 minutes.
During one of those times i noticed the some activity on the screen as if it were being pressed in multiple places. It seemed weird to me, i just proceeded to wipe the screen. The screen acter normal again and it stood still. My susrprise was when i accidentally went into the wrong app when i was trying to check 9gag and i pressed the back button and instead it opened the app in the lower left corner. I thought it was my mistake but it wasn't when i pressed it again it highlighted a section on the running app. I stood still and analyzed the buttons and neither the back or menu button worked. I have made factory resets even a hard reset with no reaults. I am now running Sphinx v1.3 but the issue persist.
I have thought that either the phone is damaged, the keys may have been unmapped due to some issue with the old rom , the phone needs a touch firmware update or wether i have to replace the touch sensor. Though the rest of the touch screen works great. Also let me mention that the phone has not been droppen in a long time.
Maybe i could flash somehow the touchscreen firmware and it could help? I dont know.
I need advices and criteria from the experienced ones.
Anyone else has experiences this or knows whats going on?
Thank you in advance to anybody who wills to help me. ???
I had the same problem. In my case it was the screen. Lucky I am still under warranty so LG fixed that.

So, you have an idea what caused the problem? And how it coukd be fixed?
My screen on the physical end seems great.
I have had mines ever since it cameout so i doubt i qualify for warranty.

Touchscreen problems

So I am having this problem since 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 update. Once or twice a day the screen won't respond to touch. Should I use a custom kernal or this might be a hardware problems.

How do you fix it when it happens? Do you have to restart? Does the touch fail or does the tablet freeze?
Honestly not very sure what you could do, besides maybe trying a factory reset? That would work if a software problem.
What about cleaning it and removing any screen plastic guard.
U can say it freezes then I have to restart it. This is happening after two factory resets.

Same issue here, I think.
Just purchased a refurbished Nexus 7 (official factory refurbished) from Amazon. My touch screen works great for a day or so, but eventually touch stops working altogether and sometimes requires a hard-reboot (holding the power for 10-seconds). Downloaded a touch screen test app which works great (even with ten fingers on the screen), tracking well on all parts of the screen. It's just like the touch atrophies over time until it stops working.
First thing I did to the tablet after getting it was to unlock the bootloader and load stock/rooted 4.4.4. Is there some way to update the touchscreen firmware that I'm missing?
I don't want to open this thing up and muck with the hardware for fear of damaging it. I'm holding out hope that there is a software fix, because rebooting fixes it right up.

Oops - I looked at the link to the hardware fix, but not the firmware fix. Thanks, I'll give this a try first.
Firmware fix above seems to have alleviated the issue for me. At least I haven't seen the issue over the last several days, which is good news. Hopefully that holds up over the long term. :good:

[Q] HTC desire 816 touch problems..

Hello guyz.. My htc 816 touch screen not working properly, have to press several times each button.. This suddenly happened.. I turn on in settings "show touches" and began to see in the left down corner on the back button that the touch is moving there and pressing back very fast.. Now this issue often appear .. But now the soft keys are not pressing from the first time I touch them.. The notification bar is to hard to open either.. And tapping a message is a massacre hehe..
P.s : I'm rooted.. And I try to install cm12 but nothing happened.
Plz friends help.. And thanks
Flash a RUU, or restore a stock backup and see if the problem persists.
I have the same issue. 816x single SIM. Any Rom I flash I get this same issue after a few minutes into the Rom. Only on stock it works normally. I have used most recent released of twrp and cwm. I have also tried garak kernal and stock trying to narrow it down. Any ideas on this?

R u sure is the same issue?? Cuz I'm worry it's a hardware issue..
Sounds the same to me. Have to hit home keys few times to get it to work, trying to text is hectic. During swiping it'll select things instead of swipe. Put on pointer location youll see it on and off while moving around the screen (even though you're doing a circle with your finger). Something around those lines?
Did anyone find a fix on this at all? Seen a few posts on this but no answers yet.

I also have this problem. Just started two days ago. The most problematic is the going back button and the home button. Text is a nightmare as swipe works intermittently and it's all so slow. I've had to turn it off and on to get out of the camera or off another page due to the back button not working. It has also started bringing up random pages that I haven't touched, as someone else said somewhere.
I've taken the sim card out but that doesn't seem to be the problem.
So, if I restore to factory settings as has been suggested, what happens to my apps? I'm only concerned about my one paid app as it was $28! Can I just download via pc as I did initially?
What if this doesn't work? This is a new phone from January ... I love it :crying:

Your device software is not up to date speaking bootloader wise. This happens and causes your device touch functions to act up. This was an early issue when device was just released.
